Another Marvel/DC crossover???
Are you guys excited for the new Marvel/DC crossover "Secret Crisis?"
The New Mutants is still happening. New trailer drops January
Sorry for the random absences and lack of posting. A lot of my time is being consumed in my new job and I've just had a lack of motivation to continue delivering news on anything happening. It's like high school again. I want to keep going but I've been extremely tired and my sleep schedule is way off. Once again, sorry for the lack of content
The Eternals
The Celestials who appeared in GOTG vol.1 will make a full appearance in The Eternals movie
Rumor
Doctor Doom to be the villain for Black Panther 2
I don't believe it but it would make sense considering how fantastic tour's history intertwines with BP's origin. Last a good king vs an "evil" king. Could have an interesting concept
Black Widow Trailer
3 am??? Good thing I stayed up 😂. What did you guys think about the Black Widow trailer? I love the suits. I'm a bit out of my loop but is this movie making Yelena the sister of Natasha (was that Yelena?). Also Red Guardian!!! I was expecting David Harbour to be Ursa Major but this is pretty cool too. A character I don't know much about but glad to have some reading recommendations. Are they going to be the Super Soviet-Soldiers? Or just a random team? Taskmaster was also cool too. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK
WW84 and a new Birds of Prey trailer will drop NEXT WEEK
I’m not one to get into twitter fights but fuck this guy I swear.
Like how do people just not GET it?
A Real SuperGirl
I just want to say that Melissa is a true heroine in so many ways. It takes a lot of courage to speak about one's trauma and use it to give others a little hope. She truly deserves all the happiness in the world. Props to her and congrats to her on having a better life.
Happy Birthday Scarlett Johansson
The Batman casts John Turturro as Carmine Falcone
I'm loving the roster so far considering the movie is in the hands of Matt Reeves

Elizabeth Banks, from the Charlie’s Angels reboot, talks about female lead comic book movies
Elizabeth Banks, who recently starred in the reboot bomb Charlie’s Angels, states female lead comic book movies like Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel are only popular because comic books are a “male genre.” She has since then received some backlash on her statement
Her quotes:
“They’ll go and see a comic book movie with Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel because that’s a male genre. So even though those are movies about women, they put them in the context of feeding the larger comic book world, so it’s all about, yes, you’re watching a Wonder Woman movie but we’re setting up three other characters or we’re setting up ‘Justice League.’”
“Look, people have to buy tickets to this movie, too. This movie has to make money, if this movie doesn’t make money it reinforces a stereotype in Hollywood that men don’t go see women do action movies.”
“By the way, I’m happy for those characters to have box office success, but we need more women’s voices supported with money because that’s the power. The power is in the money.”
Money does not always equal power. As a male, I’ve seen plenty of non-comic book female lead movies such as Atomic Blonde, Annihilation, Alien, Ghostbusters, etc. I did have plans to see this movie since Charlie’s Angels is a favorite of my mom’s, but the arrogance of the star is a bit wavering. I’ll watch it but we need to stop pretending all men don’t watch or listen to anything female lead. It’s 2019. Congrats on the 9 million domestic opening weekend by the way.
Let break this down motherfucker
“Money does not equal power”
Yes it does. Capitalism be like that.
How do you dump truck trump became president? And further, how do you think he’s avoided all those rape charges?
Before I address any of your half ass points, it’s important to point out that the privilege of males, whites, straights, etc, does not only include the privilege of resources, whether they be social or financial. It also includes the privilege of defining what is the norm, and therefore what is good. It’s the basics of the charmed circle.
(source: Gayle Rubin’s “Thinking Sex” where she talks about sexuality but it generalizes to other forms of privilege).
Anyhoo, the point is, because men have the privilege of defining norms, and therefore what is good, they have more influence than anyone would like to believe. while this is still changing for the better, men are still largely in charge of opinions centering movies (movie award judges, critics, etc.) and especially action movies, a genre made to please men specifically. so her idea of action being a man’s genre is not that far fetched. And I’ll get to the whole superhero thing.
Personally I always grew up hearing the stereo type of romcoms being chickflicks and action movies being movies for dudes and I’m only 22, so it goes to show the world isn’t as fast moving as we’d like it to be.
Atomic Blonde
Written by a man. Directed by a man. Cinematography? Man. Lots male gaze on the female lead. Aka: woman made sexy for man equal man money
Annihilation and Ghostbusters
It’s a scifi movie, not in the same genre. Not the same impact
This is one of the first few action movies fully written with women in mind. With their point of view, not just the idea of them being on screen
“stop pretending all men don’t” is just another cry of not all men. Which is so whiny and makes me think you are just butthurt because you feel called out. You shouldn’t be taking this personally. This is a social issue and not about you.
Any time a women has a strong opinion that goes against a mans they are called a bitch or arrogant so double shut the fuck up.
Superhero movies
They are built off the backs of a historically male fantasy. And more specifically, historically white male. So, a bitch right on that one
I don’t see any hype for Raising Dion, an independent superhero show about a kid of color, not built off white male heroes. not adding to white male heroes.
why do you think it took so long to give captain marvel, black panther, and wonder woman their own movies? they had to give you thor, ironman, hulk, superman, and batman first. fuck they didn’t even give you wonder woman until she was introduced in superman v batman
Also there’s likely the idea that the fact that these women don’t have superpowers and therefore men can’t explain away their amazingness is too much too handle.
TLDR: Charlie’s Angels doesn’t just have female leads, it isn’t just female led (two separate things), it’s a feminist movie. Not made with the intent to please men. Which is a bummer for men. It’s truly as simple as: if you can’t see women work within the box you’ve made for them, they disappoint you. So, it didn’t get the hype. It didn’t get the commercialization. It didn’t get what it deserved.
[Made with cis straight white men in mind]
Woah woah sweety. There's a lot you kist said but I'm going to touch on a few points.
I never said "Money doesn't equal power" I said "Money doesn't ALWAYS equal power." It's definitely a power which is how Trump does what he does. But there are other powers too like talking. Talking is probably one of the beat powers to have. It's how we inspire change and save others. Martin Luther King Jr. used his words over his fists to help give freedoms to African Americans. He gave powerful speeches that changed the hearts of MILLIONS.
Now onto the whole Male vs Female war (one of the many wars of today), I admit I may have been a little aggressive but if we keep going at everything in a prejudicial way, only more hate will transpire. That's why I went at it the way I did. I've been racially discriminated against, sexually teased, etc. I hate looking at the world in an angry way. You might say that it's just the way the world is but to me, if we think like that, we ourselves aren't doing much to change it and instead settle for what it is instead of what it can be. Male's do have certain privileges I wish females had, but going at it in extreme measures only makes the cause seem negative.
But truthfully, I'm sorry. It is, however, my opinion but I accept the criticism and I take it to mind and heart. Also, don't get things twisted duddette. I'm a pansexual black man and it's tough. Don't believe me? Dm for my snap
