Youtube is getting rid of dislikes in YouTube shorts, but they are also replacing likes with hearts
We're updating the YouTube Shorts player with a distraction-free clear screen mode, adjustable playback speeds, a new heart icon, and more p
YouTube has announced in a new blog that they are removing dislikes and even likes
They say “You'll also notice some changes to how you interact with videos.
First, we're introducing the ❤️ icon to replace the thumbs-up, providing a more meaningful way to express when a video truly connects with you.”
They got rid of the dislike button as well
As they say
“To shape a better feed for you, we're also retiring the dislike button.
Instead, we’ll rely on our more precise controls, “Not Interested” and “Don’t recommend this channel,” to more accurately tune your feed and serve up content you’ll love.
These options give you more control over what you see and allow us to better understand your genuine preferences, especially since you've shown us that “disliking” a video could mean anything from “poor audio quality” to simply “not my cup of tea.”
It’s not known when it’ll get fully published, but some are already seeing changes
Please watch this!!!
So as a good old reminder we cannot trust the Republicans we cannot trust the Democrats we cannot trust the president we cannot trust, let Harris we cannot trust the independence we cannot trust any of them
And then if they repealed section 230 we're just going to have to deal with them whining and crying because their content is being censored and other countries are going to show them backlash and anger because it also affecting them because some countries do in fact use the apps from the US especially Japan

Hey!
So I, as well as some other users, have all received emails about some updates to Google's TOS, that look...really concerning😥
Please read through them all!
Yeah, it does look like yet more age verification crap...but I wanna highlight this here...
Most of these big governments or big tech don't even CONSIDER parents actually doing their jobs! So this is...different...
Idk, maybe I'm being too hopeful...but I kinda feel like Google is just as fed up with ID verification as we all are

temporarily back to share these two. some people have been saying that the vote will happen on monday, despite no date being given. this could very well be another trick that congress decided to pull, because they hate their own people that much. they have done this before, but that's just my theory.
despite this, please continue calling your house representatives. and while you're at it, call your senators, too. just in case.

whumpee who scratches, bites, growls at anyone who attempts to get close. any offerings of comfort are perceived as threats simply because they've never had those before. it is different. they're used to cruelty, not blankets and good food and touch that doesn't hurt.
when alone, they find themself crying— for no reason, apparently, because isn't this place far better than the one they've come from? nothing hurts, and despite the debilitating confusion, these people haven't tried anything. it'll take a long time for them to realise that it is because despite their best efforts, they've come to think of this room as a safe place— and the lack of violence is abrupt and unexpected and distressing.
and one day, whumpee goes too far and actually injures caretaker— suddenly regret crashes through the fear, which in turn is poisoned with more fear, and now they're sobbing out apologies, begging caretaker to not throw them out, to not send them back, and please, I'll be good, I'll stay still, you can beat me, please don't let me go.
Damn....
Ok, maybe sometimes pinterest is a little funny
Heads up all, just got tagged in this post that is obviously fake but playing on current concerns about tumblr and the age verification nonsense. I reported it as spam (cause I wasn’t sure what other option applied but that one certainly did given the dozens of blogs theyve tagged in the notes) and blocked the account. Stay safe, check URLs
[image id: 3 screenshots of a post from tumblr user support3931697 claiming that all active tumblr accounts must complete identity verification “within 72 hours” via a provided link. One screenshot also shows the notes section of the post where another so called support account that ends in a number jumble is saying things such as “big warning,” “essential announcement” or “urgent news”, then tagging several various tumblr blogs.
This is not how a company would reach out to inform users of an imminent policy change. End id]

THE K.I.D.S ACT AKA THE SURVEILLANCE STATE ACT IS BEING RAILROADED STRAIGHT THROUGH THE TIME FOR TALK IS OVER NOW IS THE TIME FOR ACTION TIME TO BRIG THIS TO A STOP WE CANNOT WILL NOT ALLOW THIS TIME FOR THEM TO HEAR THE WORDS GO FROM HELL NO TO IF YOU DO THIS YOU WILL NOT SEE ANYTHING FROM IT WILL WILL NOT LET THIS STAND IF IT DOES MORE INFORMATION:
The new package complicates a separate push for a kids safety bill coming from the Senate.
AND THIS IS MY MESSAGE TO THOSE WHO PLAN TO VOTE YES!
REMEMBER WE ARE THEIR POWER! AND WE NEVER HAVE HAD TO TO NOR DO WE NOW NEED TO BACK DOWN IN THE FACE OF TYRANNY OR A DICTATORSHIP WHO USES IT TO KEEP USE PENNED LIKE CATTLE!
“Because the truth is, tech doesn’t have an image problem. It doesn’t have a message problem. It has an intention problem. What’s wrong with the axe murderer who broke into my house is not that he hasn’t successfully persuaded me to buy into his narrative. What’s wrong is that he’s trying to kill me with an axe. Similarly, when you launch a product that’s designed to put millions of people out of work, block access to sources of verifiable truth, replace human creativity with slop, and lower the barriers to every sort of atrocity, the problem isn’t that you haven’t told the public a good story about those things. The problem is that you are trying to do them.”

Everyone should be aware of nitter.net
for any address to twitter you can replace the “x.com” with “nitter.net” and you will be able to browse as if you have an account. Lifesaver.
Similarly, imginn.com works for most Instagram addresses. I still haven’t found one for Facebook.
