I think the most interesting part about the 7 year lead up to Silksong's release was how as the fan base went crazier as the wait lasted year after year was that people outside the fandom who hadn't played or even heard of Hollow Knight began to hear on the grapevine how fanatically devoted the fan base was as they awaited Silksong like it was the Second Coming of Christ! so out of curiosity more and more people played Hollow Knight and joined us in our collective mania, busting out the clown makeup at every gaming showcase, and that one time where we tried to "sacrifice" the biggest Hollow Knight contest creators as an offering to Team Cherry praying to receive any information from them about Silksong and it's release.

But now that it's been out for like 9 months, I'm sure I'm not alone in losing that feeling of bountiful hope of looking forward to that next big game release... Well there's always the option of delusionally waiting for Half Life 3 or Team Fortress 3 or Portal 3, clinging to hope Valve actually puts some of their Steam treasure hoard towards making an actual game like they used to do
