The Outbursts of Everett True was a comic strip that ran in papers from 1905 to 1927, wherein the aforementioned Everett True regularly beat the everliving shit out of rude people as a warning to anyone else who might consider being rude. Men have not only been taking up too much room on public transport for about as long as public transport has existed, but the people around them have been irritated about it for at least a hundred years. The next time someone tries to claim that manspreading is a false phenomenon, please direct them to this strip so that Everett True can correct their misconceptions with an umbrella upside the head.

I’m very lucky to own a book that’s a collection of most of these comics (sadly not all of them) and would highly recommend hunting these down if you can. Sorry for the lack of a scanner but phone photos will just have to do.

All I remember is plain dresses in neutral colours, a sharp contrast to the abundance of rich luxury where we lived. It was Earth but beyond Earth, more than Earth, and you couldn’t find it on a map anywhere. It was a castle by the sea, decaying slowly. Maybe a monastery - there were monks there, and I detested them for their hypocrisy. The sky was never really blue, and at dusk it looked like the clouds were on fire. Everything seemed dark there except for you. There was so much stained glass and SO many statues. 

My hair was long and black, my eyes were sad, and what wings I had left were weak and always folded. Everyone said I looked sick. You were strong, righteous, and divine, tall and angular, with sandy brown hair and an upturned nose and eyes bluer than the sky. Your wings were like those of a hawk and everyone adored them. Adored you. You told me we didn’t have to stay and we were better than a haunted, dying estate, but…we did. I was scared to leave. Scared to go home to Father. I didn’t know if I was still an angel or not, but I started rotting as soon as I fell from Heaven. You didn’t fall, you only followed me.

We were friends, lovers, twin flames.

We watched centuries come and go. What happened to us? What was my name? Did you leave me or did I die?

My internet is going to cut off any day now and going online is the only way I have of trying to get myself out of this situation/ applying for aid from social services. I'm already in the process of being evicted and haven't even had the money to pay for groceries or something to eat in over a week. I have been on the phone with my internet trying to get more time but I am so behind that it just isn't possible anymore. It wouldn't have been a problem if I at least have my phone turned on but it isn't right now.

I know how annoying this may be for a lot of people but I really don't know what else to do except try and crowdfund and at least try and focus on my internet so I can figure out where I am going to go and what I am going to do next.
