Actually, no, I don't think that friendships dropping like flies in your late 20s and early 30s because no one has time for that between overwork and family obligations and marriage and kids and partners and the ritual of the time slayer is normal and ok. No I don't think deep conversations and spontaneous adventures being replaced with a tired coffee every six months is a normal part of growing up. I don't think that emotional intimacy and soul bonds disintegrating in the face of practical inconvenience is a fact of life. I think that means something is deeply deeply wrong with our society and I will never forgive it for the friends I've lost
one time i was making potato soup and i needed broth for it but i was out of broth. but in my dog food cabinet there was a carton of chicken broth that i had bought for my dog. now the box did say HUMAN GRADE and the ingredients were just bog standard chicken broth. it did say something about joint health for dogs on there. but the ingredients were normal. i even compared the ingredients list to some normal person broth and they were the same. so i did put dog broth in that soup and it did taste completely normal. but i did use the dog broth.
The alright guys. (But mostly March)

T_T I wish bathroom-related disabilities weren’t still today the subject of so much baseless ableism and hatred.. When you learn that kind of shame, it can kill you. People think “it’s too embarrassing to be seen buying an enema, or to go to the ER and need a manual disimpaction. I’ll just wait this one out” and then the bowel perforates and that can kill you in no time at all. And a LOT of it is just because of the meaningless stigma surrounding something as universal and basic as.. peeing and pooping?? That’s insane! Everyone does it! Get over yourself and stop perpetuating shame!! Knowing someone has to wear a diaper will not kill you, but the embarrassment that person feels might just kill them!!
Your cats are not "manipulating" you they are communicating with you. They do not understand why you're limiting their food supply or keeping them indoors or preventing them from ruining your furniture or whatever.
When they meyowl pathetically for more food, it's not because they're trying to "trick" you into feeding them again. They just want to be fed, and they're smart enough to notice the correlation between certain sounds they make and the responses they get from you.
They've figured out that if they want to communicate to you that they want more food, if they make those pathetic sounds, you're more likely to behave as if you've understood what they're trying to communicate.
When your cat waits for you to look away then yoinks food off of your plate, it's not because they love crime. It's because they're social colony creatures who instinctively share food with each other and they don't understand why you're not sharing the best foods with them.
Your cats are very intelligent, social creatures who see you as their Very Strange sibling.
They've learned how to make intricate sounds just to communicate with their humans. When the sounds they make elicit the responses they want, they learn that those sounds are the most effective way to communicate their desires.
Not because they're scheming about how to control you, but because they don't know how to communicate with you any other way.
was doing a first aid course and it kept talking about how when applying first aid to a child you have to ask the PARENT for consent and how the child's consent is not enough unless you cannot reach the parent. and then immediately after there was a unit on shaken baby syndrome, and then mentioned abuse as a common source of children getting injured. and they didn't see the irony there. i later asked the instructor what to do about parental consent if the medical emergency was from the parent abusing the child and she was like "you still need to obtain parental consent. you can report the abuse though" not even acknowledging how fucked the whole system is. i hate it here. youth rights now
(yes I know Vanta’s trauma happened when she was an adult but the meme would not leave my head until I drew it so shhhh)
Prism and Unnamed Vantablack Friend are both created by @sharkfiinn (UVF is from this)
parents are allowed to straight-up torture their kids with zero consequences. they can withhold food and water, lock you out of shelter, confiscate your belongings, bar you from human contact, attack and harm you and exert complete control over your physical appearance. and this is just the norm. if you speak out against it you're seen as a delinquent or a predator. even otherwise progressive people get uncomfortable with the idea of dismantling the nuclear family unit because they still see it as the best way to keep kids safe when that simply couldn't be further from the truth. it's evil.
This is also part of why I'm so loud about homeschool reform, specifically in the USA.
In the US, there is no meaningful legal definition for educational/academic neglect in any of the 50 states or federally. What this means is that a child can be "homeschooled" and exclusively be taught how to cook and clean, reach the age of 18 being unable to read, write, or count, and this alone is not considered neglect. That 18yo, should they even have the knowledge that suing exists, has no legal grounds to sue their parents for denying them an education.
In over 40 US states, a convicted child abuser can homeschool their children. So someone who has done time for child abuse and somehow regains access to their child(ren) can decide upon returning home that they want to "homeschool" their kids. Those children are now locked in a home with their abuser where nobody can see them.
There are no welfare checks.
There are no routine assessments.
There aren't even databases — state or federal — keeping track of how many homeschooled kids there actually are.
Meaning a child can be locked in their home for their entire life with their convicted abuser, learn absolutely nothing, never go to the doctor, and so long as that child is fed, clothed, and the abuse isn't physical or sexual, that child has almost no chance of rescue and no legal ground to seek restitution if/when they escape.
The only way homeschooled children get rescued is if they're beaten, starved, or physically neglected and they're able to get the right person to see that. Otherwise? They have to wait until someone finds out they were murdered as a result of their parents "homeschooling".
And feral homeschool parents love to jump down my throat about this, and then get even more pissed when I tell them I'm a homeschool alumni.
Because I know it's not all homeschoolers. But even one is too many, and the lack of protections should scare everyone. If you're a good homeschool parent, nothing will change. If not, you deserve whatever comes your way as a result of adequate oversight.
Children deserve rights.

Should we just keep driving?”
snug as a bug in a rug :,)
I need more people to read Drive after watching the movie, because the movie does not NEARLY incapsulate well enough whatever Driver, Irene, and Standard having going on.
They’re all three raising a kid together. None of them are dating or are even married anymore. Irene and Driver cook together. Driver describes what they do as “hanging out” and it’s almost entirely non-romantic and completely non-sexual. Driver always tries to make it home before Benicio gets back from school. Standard offers to buy Driver dinner after Talking Crime™️ and Driver calls himself easy. Driver, Irene, and Benicio watch TV together all the time and Standard repeats ALMOST EVERY CONVERSATION WE SEE how much he appreciates Driver doing that. Driver and Standard watch shitty TV and drink together after Irene and Benice go to bed. Literally nobody is doing it like them
Things from the Drive novel that they left out of the movie that I think people might enjoy knowing, especially if they wanna add some fun to their fanfics or other fan creations! :D I was thinking of drivinglessons, sundaydriver, and stuntdriver the entire time I was writing this LMAO
- Driver has a soft spot for animals; he feeds his friend’s cat when the friend winds up sick, and later journeys all the way back to his foster parents (that he hasn’t seen in YEARS, mind you) in fucking Tucson, Arizona to make sure the cat has a good home. That’s almost an 8 hour drive one way. And all for one cat that wasn’t even his.
- Driver is a fuckin FOODIE. I kid you not, there are more detailed lists of food in that book than just about anything else. If food is involved in ANY capacity, Driver will let you know about it. In great detail. He likes Buchanan’s Scotch whisky, but he’s also a wine connoisseur via osmosis because of his best friend (see further down), so enjoy writing date nights with this knowledge LMAO
- Following up on the above point: his palate is almost EXCLUSIVELY developed for Latino food (specifically Mexican, but it’s varied). He makes endless gripes about food without any taste, and literally in the second chapter, it opens with him drinking a carryout horchata
loverboy !!!!
Say you break your ankle. You could know everything there is to know intellectually about the injury. Even with this vast knowledge, you will still experience physical pain.
Now take this logic and apply it to things like ADHD, autism, clinical depression, and other less visible/divergent disabilities. You cannot think your way out of feeling.
That is to say: you are not a bad, lazy, or selfish person for struggling, even if you know why you are struggling.
