I’ve been itching to do some sort of sound design project, I wanna flex my ambiance/background skills, and I think it would be fun to go ham on a fanfic. I don’t do any voice work, but it’s a skill I would like to learn anyways too :p

This is a project mostly for me so I will be just be doing Tf2 and Malevolent fics, maybe PHM/BloodyMary, just because I’m familiar enough with the settings and characters to a point where I think I could do a passable job at reading lines and setting tone.

I’ll do anything but straight up smut scenes, and for now I’ll just be doing things on the shorter side (3-10ish chapters).

You can submit your fanfic through posting links in the comments, reblogs, or PMs. If I have picked yours and gotten to a point where I think I’d be comfortable sharing it, I’ll let you know and then send over the file when it’s done.

I plan to post the podfics to Ao3 and possibly YouTube, all the usual links and credits will go to you ofc, also if it goes on YouTube and you have your own channel, we can do that cross post thing YT does now.

I’m prolly not gonna pick every fic (haha bars), i am just some dude at his computer with a shitass mic doing this for fun, but I’ll do my darndest.

Anyone else love when they accidentally get a video for the wrong tier of fandom to the one they’re in?

Like a “details you might have missed” video for a movie you love but it’s clearly for people who’ve watched it once or twice and not 15+ times so you did in fact catch all those things.

Or a really in depth lore video for something you’ve only ever watched causally and you didn’t even realise the lore went that deep.

I love how Grace, in the eridian’s point of view, is absolutely infested with parasites and diseases. His whole body is a darn ecosystem with loads of bacteria, viruses, fungi, the utter insanity that is the immune system, and tiny little microscopic bugs.

And it’s almost all necessary.

Every single part of him is alive. Every single part of him breathes and consumes. He becomes a total nightmare (but at the same time scientific marvel) to the eridian biologists, who witnesses a creature with its own biosphere. (And are met with the daunting responsibility of keeping such a frail ecosystem alive)

Grace and his care team sitting around bullshitting while one or more of them waits for sleep, and one of the Eridian biologists hits him with, "You know, your cold water ocean doesn't end? Your species circulates water unusually vigorously, but everything in your biosphere except a few extremophiles depends on ambient water even if it's broken into particles. Just like your sea creatures. Honored Grace, you're a reef that thinks. Your entire world is an ocean." And then it drops into sleep, leaving Grace to stare into the dim shadows of his bedroom and go "...holy shit."

Love, love, love the idea of this being a normal thing for planets who have more than one intelligent species. Of course they find the others kind of funny and endearing due to their differences! But at the same time those are also fully-intelligent adult people to be treated with respect, they're just different and that makes us love them, be endeared by them, even as we acknowledge their intelligence. But both things are true and it's not weird or something to be ashamed of! Of course the funky little rock monster is cute and has silly little quirks while also being an incredibly intelligent and capable engineer! The Malacandrians would think we were weird for struggling to reconcile this idea because they have three intelligent species on their world who all excel at different things (philosophy/history, poetry/agriculture, mining/creating art) and each one thinks fondly of the others and also acknowledges their strengths and intelligence! I freaking love this!

(this also heavily supports the whole, "Eridians think Grace is adorable and silly even though he's an adult scientist" idea)

It's the 2nd of may as I'm writing this, and just in case anyone needs to hear this:

Brushing your teeth 3-4 times a year is still better than nothing. If you promised yourself that you'd do better this year and already fell off the wagon in january, go do it now, even if you can't manage it every day.

Once a week is better than never. Once a month is better than never. Hell, once a year is better than never. If you can't do perfect, better than nothing is better than nothing. Go brush your teeth.
