Comment: I love fics where Arthur doesn’t really realize that he’s attracted to Merlin, until all of a sudden it clicks. Arthur was trying to get to know Merlin so that he could persuade him that he’s good enough for Gwen, and along the way he kinda just…forgets why he started hanging out with Merlin in the first place. Fantastic.

(Another “Arthur Returns” headcanon! I had this scene running through my head while getting some projects done and thought it couldn’t hurt to do a quick sketch… but then a fic also happened. Sorry for not keeping my priorities straight, like geez… but I hope this misuse of time is enjoyed!)

He’s just in shock, Merlin told himself as he watched the water rise. He’ll be fine, I just need to give him more time… Time. There’d been far too much of it. Too much waiting and hoping and hurting. Now, Merlin couldn’t help but wonder if being absent from this world for all these centuries might’ve had some grievous effect on Arthur. He always imagined that if Arthur returned (when he returned) he’d be the same as he was before. Was that so foolish? Wishful thinking, perhaps… because the man Merlin found on the shores of Avalon was a far cry from the King he’d known and adored…

Hi there! I'm looking for a merthur fiction I read a while ago which was a modern au set on a cruise ship and Merlin still had magic. All that I can remember is that Merlin was Arthur's waiter and he managed to spill wine everywhere and Arthur was a wealthy guest on the ship. Also the splits between scenes was marked by little cruise ships, sorry if that is a little vague. Keep up the good work! We all appreciate it!

Let’s explain! In Italy the name Merlin it’s translated as Merlino (with an ‘o’, yes). If we read it not like a name but like a word, it literally means  ‘little blackbird’ (in italian language, Merlo (blackbird)+ino (suffix used for the male diminutive) = Merlino. End of the lesson XD). In many italian fanfictions Merlin’s hair color is often associated to the black blackbird feathers, or Merlino is called in many AU just Merlo (Blackbird) like a nickname that his friends gave to him. This is my little idea about this pun! :)
