Okay, so this may seem obvious but does anyone else watch Korra and just constantly see all the things Sokka did?
I mean really, he went and saw huge sections of the world as a teenager; then decided that he could do better. I bet he had one of those early twenties realisations where you look at people in charge of things and realise that you have actually always been very smart and can do much better at anything. Then he just dropped his family back home and geared up to go rearrange the whole world; probably with a well stocked boat and more paper to write on the second time around.
I bet Zuko was forever receiving reports about how his friend/crush just altered centuries of tradition, or destroyed gender norms in a new location, or solved a longstanding mystery. It would also be adorable if Sokka sent him schematics for new infrastructure projects; because Zuko has the funds and Sokka doesn’t have the time to do it but he thinks it’s much better than whatever they are doing at the moment anyway. 🤗
