I had a tiny bit of batter left. Who else is excited about new Gears of War at E3?
Tracer from Overwatch
Baymax
I don't seem to get much time on the griddle anymore, but these were the kid requests over the weekend!
The kids have been watching a lot of Looney Toons lately.
A request for a young fan.
Today we took on The Book of Life
This morning needs more coffee. Much more.
My daughter has been really into Windwaker lately. Sorry bout yer face, Link.
Finally did some Episode 7 pancakes! Some of my other Star Wars pancakes: http://griddlemethis.tumblr.com/post/74039614924 Yoda: http://griddlemethis.tumblr.com/post/78882122740/yoda-pancakes-you-seek-yoda-pancakes-remember
You know the ultimate challenge would be to recreate Van Gogh's Starry night.
I did it already. It was one of my first pancakes. I may have to redo it, though. The first one was a bit rudimentary.
Have you ever tried teach it someone else?
Yeah, I teach my friends all the time. It's not that difficult.
With all of the new followers, the question of "How?" has been coming up again recently. This is how.
Did you get so impressive at making pancakes merely by making a ton of pancakes, or do you make some sort of "real" art too?
I've always been an artist of sorts, and my degree is in graphic design. That said, I'm a stronger digital artist than traditional. With the pancakes, I've just learned a ton from doing them for the last three+ years that I've been at it. In short, I'm artistic enough to make shaped pancakes, not enough to paint the Mona Lisa. :)
Food coloring could make this very interesting! More so than it already is. Ever thought of it?
Tried it many times. I use an almond-based gluten free pancake mix in my batter because my daughter is gluten free. The batter has a natural brown tiny to it that works against food coloring. The colors come out muddy and blah. I've tried lightening up the batter by using only egg whites, no/less vanilla extract, and so on, but ultimately I just quit pursuing it. For now...
How do your kids not get bore with pancakes, secret recipe?
A) they taste goodB) they love that this is a thing we do togetherC) they love coming up with new ideas to challenge me with
