I got an ask about something that I want to address, but I'm not answering it directly because I don't want to risk anyone going after this person for what I believe was a genuine question.
I'm paraphrasing, but essentially they asked why it seems like suddenly so many creators (specifically audio rp creators in this instance) who previously had very frequent and consistent schedules are now posting more infrequently/sporadically/not at all.
And, again, I'm assuming they were genuine in their curiosity, so.
The world right now (and for a while, now) is fucked up. That's undeniable. All over the world, people are struggling and facing very uncertain futures. People are being targeted for their religions, ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, simply being born with a uterus, and so much more. Economies worldwide are spiraling, making even paying for necessities more difficult. Shit sucks right now. People are under so much constant stress. And one thing that has been widely accepted is that high levels of stress has a severe negative impact on creativity. (The stereotype of the tortured artist being more creative is, in fact, a total lie)
And if you factor in the fact that many, many of your favorite audio rp creators are members of demographics that are being affected by current events, it's no wonder that they can't bring themselves to act as if everything is okay and play pretend on a mic for their audience. Not to mention it takes hours and hours, if not days, of creative energy to write scripts, record them, clean the recordings up, and create soundscapes/add sound effects.
While it might be nice for you to get an audio to take your mind off of things, demanding something like that from creators right now (Especially one that's topical, like a comfort audio for current events) is asking them to put their own mental wellbeing aside for the sake of 20 minutes of relief and entertainment for yourself.
Times are hard, and scary, and you have to remember that that is a person. A person who is likely experiencing the same struggles and fears as yourself. If they're in a position where they can't create, then asking them to push through for your sake is like asking the person who's drowning right along with you to help hold you above water.
Again, I'm pretty sure this was a genuine question, and I don't think there was any malicious intent behind it, but please just be patient with people. Creators online have lives, struggles, and needs just like you do.
