Another strange little animal painting, while I’m at it 🦌 (he’s maybe a bit dead) (I used a wood panel from a SUPER old abandoned barn as a canvas, so it’s… warped. Does not do well to be photographed)
What would be an appropriate tribute to curry favor with the weed dragon?
Formula of Offering to Draconis Cannabis
Prepare, liquid infused with cannabis(oil or drink) or a baja blast, food infused with cannabis or a spicy flavor of dorito, and a bud of the plant intact. Draw upon a piece of paper in green ink a symbol of Cannabis encircled by a serpent, and the number 420. Beneath open sky or the image of it make a fire. Prepare yourself as you see fit. Then look into the flames and begin:
"Oh great Laughing Serpent, muse of fools and sages, I give you this fire as tongue. So that you may sup upon the world and belch forth hazy clouds to amuse." "I offer you drink, for you thirst from travel through all psyche." (pour some of the liquid into the fire) "I offer you food, for you hunger with primordial appetite for all the flavors of the cosmos." (toss the food into the fire) "I offer you the egg of your own birth, for you to hatch once more into aetherial splendor." (hold up the bud to the fire and then place it in a grinder or pestel) "Aid me Dawn Dragon, who is lonely companion of the sleepless and the restless!" (Grind the bud for one rotation Widdershins) "Aid me Day Cloud, who soothes mind and magnifies nature!" (Grind the bud for one rotation Widdershins) "Aid me Night Dancer, who leads the nocturnal revel!"
(Grind the bud for one rotation Widdershins and then pack your bowl with it) "Guide me Draconis Cannabis, as you have guided Kapnobatai and Massagetan before me. Let me find friends and wisdom within your cloudy wings that stretch to embrace the whole world."
(Light the paper from the fire and use it to light the bowl, then send four small puffs of smoke in the cardinal directions.)
"From sensation and smoke, star dust." (blow a cloud towards the heavens)
I am not liable for any negative consequences resulting from invoking the Weed Dragon. Consume responsibly.

Perfumes As Planets: Agrippa Edition
Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa, the medieval occultist, has recipes for incense for each of the seven astrological “planets” – and these are surprisingly possible to translate into modern perfumes!
The Sun
We make a suffumigation for the Sun in this manner, viz., of saffron, ambergris, musk, lignum aloes, lignum balsam, the fruit of the laurel, cloves, myrrh, and frankincense; all which being bruised and mixt in such a proportion as may make a sweet odor, must be incorporated with the brain of an eagle, or the blood of a white cock, after the manner of pills or troches.
Ok, so we’ll skip the brains and blood. The rest, though, consists of perfume ingredients that actually make sense.
Saffron, ambergris, musk, lignum aloes (i.e. oudh), lignum balsam (i.e. guaiac), bay leaves, cloves, myrrh, and frankincense: that sounds like a rather heavy scent, but at least plausible.
Amouage Jubilation XXV is actually pretty close: it contains all of the above except saffron. I haven’t smelled it, but it’s supposed to be a warm, boozy-orangey incense, by the redoubtable Bertrand Duchaufour.
The Moon
For the Moon we make a suffumigation of the head of a dried frog, the eyes of a bull, the seed of white poppy, frankincense, and camphor; which must be incorporated with catamenia, or the blood of a goose.
Simplified down to actual perfumery ingredients this is just frankincense and camphor. Use Fragrantica’s handy dandy “search-by-notes” feature and you get
Comme des Garcons Hinoki, a rather delicate and austere cedar/pine/cypress woody scent with camphor and incense accents.
Saturn
For Saturn, take black poppy seed, henbane, root of mandrake, the loadstone, and myrrh, and make them up with the brain of a cat or the blood of a bat.
Henbane and mandrake are not scented plants, but both are in the nightshade family Solanaceae, tribe Solanoideae, which contains tomatoes and chili peppers, which are common perfumery notes. Replacing the nightshades with chili, we get
Dame Perfumery Chilehead, supposed to be an aromatic herbal/lime/chile pepper scent, with some myrrh mixed into a traditional vetiver/oakmoss/patchouli base.
Jupiter
For Jupiter, take the seed of ash, lignum aloes, storax, the gum benjamin or benzoin, the lazuli stone, and the tops of the feathers of a peacock; and incorporate them with the blood of a stork, or a swallow, or the brain of a hart.
The ash tree is not a scented plant, so let’s skip that; what’s left is styrax, benzoin, and oud.
Let’s go with
Nicolai Parfumeur Createur Amber Oud, which is a cuddly, creamy amber-lavender, only notionally oud.
Mars
For Mars, take euphorbium, bedellium, gum ammoniac, the roots of both hellebores, the loadstones, and a little sulphur; and incorporate them all with the brain of a hart, the blood of a man and the blood of a black cat.
Euphorbia is the spurge family that includes poinsettias, and produces a latex-like sap. Bdellium is a fragrant resin similar to myrrh. Neither type of hellebore is a fragrant plant. Gum ammoniac is related to asafoetida.
The closest analogue to this I can come up with is
L’Artisan Parfumeur Premier Figuier,
which is a fig scent that has a significant “milky-sap” component and also a quite detectable sulfurous/onion-y/curry-ish asafoetida note. I found it off-putting, myself, but it does fit the description.
Venus
For Venus, take musk, ambergris, lignum aloes, red roses and red coral, and make them up with the brain of sparrows and the blood of pigeons.
Roses, musk, ambergris, and oud! A beautiful traditional composition!
Zoologist Perfumes Nightingale is supposed to be an excellent, rose-forward, feminine, fruity-chypre take on the genre.
Mercury
For Mercury, take mastic, frankincense, cloves, and the herb cinque-foil, and the stone achate, and incorporate them all with the brain of a fox or weasel, and the blood of a magpie.
Cinquefoil is not a scented herb. That leaves mastic, frankincense, and cloves. The closest match I could find was
Bogue 07738, which is supposed to be a very elaborate resinous-creamy yellow floral, well-reviewed but hard to find.
Look, maybe this a dumb question, but I figure it's worth asking... the Old Man's been knocking at my door asking to be let in. But to be totally honest - I'm intimidated by him. I'm worried that whatever tasks or tests he has in store for me, I won't be strong enough for. I'm not a "warrior", so to speak. All my life I've been small and weak. What others perceive as breezes feel like storms to me. Why on earth would he want to work with me?
Sorry this has taken so long to get to. First - there are no dumb questions. There are only questions which need refining. The way we do that is to ask, and to reflect. Then, after reflection, we ask some more. “Would you know yet more, or what?”Second, have you read this post of mine on Heathen Warriors? I get ranty, because I’m a bloody cripple, and I ended up with a certain someone on my case. Why would he want a cripple? Why would a god like that want anything to do with a broken thing like me?
Why indeed? I still don’t rightly know. But I do what I do, and it seems to benefit others, and he’s always there, standing in the corner, or a presence behind my back. So I’m a crippled Odinsman, and that’s all there is to say.Except your ask wasn’t about me, was it? It was about you. About your fears that you won’t be strong enough. That you’ll fail whatever ‘tests’ might be in store.
So…well…oh…how to put it…(Sowilo - see what I did there?)The thing with tests, right? The thing with tests is that school says they’re pass/fail. But school isn’t all there is. Sure, there are moments of choice where you do one thing and it means possibility collapses. Sure there are tests where if you do or say one thing, you can’t do another.
But tests, real ones? They aren’t pass/fail. They’re see-what-happens-under-these-conditions. They’re see how sharp this blade is, how hot is this tea, how this person handles a given situation.
Testing is iterative. Set up a situation, run the tests, gather the data, tweak and redesign that which is tested in light of data, test again. Repeat. No pass/fail. Only data, only knowledge. Only learning. Only refining. Only discovering.
“Would you know more, or what?”The Old Man can be a terrifying bugger, no doubt. It’s well attested in his names and lore. He’s a mad bastard. Mad enough to hang himself from a tree, to starve and wound himself, to sacrifice himself, all for the Knowing of it,He ripped out his eye to drink from the well of Mimir. Not for battle, not for war, no. This god of storm and fury, of breath and poetry and song did it for wisdom. The leader of the dead, the summoner of souls, the endless rider, the eternal wanderer? He wants to know. And if he’s knocking on your door, he wants to know you. For some reason, he’s gathered himself to come and greet you, to be the stranger on your doorstep. And maybe he’s just passing, or maybe there’s some deeper meaning. I don’t know. It’s up to you if you let him in, as it were. You say you’re weak. You say a breeze feels like a storm. So be it, it is what it is. But understand that this old god values subtlety, sensitivity, as much as brute force. If a breeze is as a storm, what of the breath of a god? What secrets might your sensitivity show you? What paths might it open?Remember - question, reflect, question. Begin, test, refine, test again.
There’s this thing called an OODA Loop, developed by the US Military:Observe, Orient, Decide, Act. But that’s a codification of something both magicians and warriors have known forever. The cycle, the rhythm, the way fore leads back, and back leads fore.
The approach favours agility over raw power. This is why guerilla warfare and small special forces teams are so effective. But what happens when you are at your ultimate weakness, when it reaches its most terrifying extent?
What happens when you’re tied to a tree, bleeding out, starved, dehydrated? What happens when you can do nothing at all.
He’s been there, you know. He’s been at death’s door, and maybe beyond. What happens when the Orient bit of that loop is just your death, and you are powerless, to Decide or Act?
He knows. It’s what gave him the runes. It’s what magic is. The ultimate agility. The ability to move-without-moving, both yourself and the universe at large.Do not fear being weak in the face of Odin. Weakness, the lack of of options? By these, he gained mastery. You are what you are. But, if you let him, he will show you what you may become.
as a city witch, I can tell you that throwing something in a gas station trash receptacle works the same as burying at a crossroads. don’t stress over shit.
Personally, I think gas stations and rest stops count as crossroads and liminal spaces, and can be used the same way for spellwork in an urban environment.
banishing (how to do it)
yeah this is like all UPG but it works good for me, take what you will and leave the rest behind.
if your response to this is "but most people never ever have to deal with unwanted spirit problems so you're probably wrong if you think it's a spirit! do shadow work and touch grass!" please let me invite you to just not interact with this post at all.
Don't cleanse. Like please don't, why do people do this??
"I am confident an unwanted spirit is in my home and I cleansed but nothing happened."
Okay, an unwanted guest is in your home and you did a bit of vacuuming and washing the dishes, so why are they still there??
Why WOULDN'T they be there?! It's nicer now??? It's better for them to stay?!?!?!
"I want to break up with my boyfriend so I did his laundry but he's still texting me :/"
Cleansing =/= banishing and cleansing should be saved for cleaning up after an unwanted spirit after they are banished, which again, is not accomplished by cleansing.
Stop raising wards that trap the spirit inside.
"I cleansed and put up a protection but that only made the problem worse!"
Yes you did a wash up and locked the spirit inside with you, of course it's pissed off. It's trapped.
If you feel the need for immediate protection when dealing with a spirit problem, craft an amulet that serves as a personal protection for you. NOT one that seals off the entrances to your home.
Once the spirit problem is taken care of and you are confident its presence has been removed, feel free to raise up those wards sky high.
Also, if you are heavy-handed with the warding, spirits can sometimes just get trapped inside regardless. Learn how to temporarily "switch off" wards when you need to so things can leave.
Put your fucking foot down and tell the spirit to leave.
This will solve a surprising number of unwanted spirit problems. Not all of them, and come on, please stop telling people they never need to learn actual banishing skills just because telling spirits to leave works most of the time.
But you gotta do it. And I mean you don't have to be an asshole about it. You don't have to jump right into screaming in the spirit's general direction and threatening all such harm on it.
And there's plenty of good reasons to start with this step, especially if you want to be a spirit worker, but that's neither here nor there. Just tell them to leave.
Go to an area where you think the spirit is, or go where its private and speak with the intent that the spirit will hear you.
(You may also sign or write; would generally not recommend doing this operation entirely mentally)
"Hey, Dude. I know you're here, and I want you to know that you must leave. It is no longer an option for you to stay. I request that you leave immediately, and I request that you do not come back to this place. Leave now and we part ways in peace."
Do not go belly up and beg the spirit. It benefits you to behave with authority and dignity.
DO NOT try to "soften the blow" by twisting your words into something that is no longer a demand that the spirit depart. "Hey, if it's okay with you, I'm hoping you'll leave soon, or as soon as you're able... I don't feel comfortable with you here, and I'd prefer if you went." Great, now the spirit knows how you feel. So what?
Banish the spirit (or human, or whatever).
Presumably we're at this step because the prior step ("bro, seriously just leave and never come back") did not work.
Obtain correspondences heavily associated with banishing, use them to enchant a candle, burn the candle.
Can't use a candle? Try a simmer pot.
No fire at all, including incense? Try a floor wash (test carpets to ensure there will not be staining).
Can't burn things or clean the house? Try a sigil you visualize being imprinted on all the walls of your home.
Can't visualize? Consecrate something to represent the spirit, drop it in a jar of water along with banishing correspondences, swirl it around like a whirlpool, chant about the spirit being washed away.
No waterproof containers? Consecrate something to represent the spirit, stand on the edge of your property, throw it off the edge of the property.
You get my drift -- do magic. Do magic. Do magic that banishes. Use magic specifically to banish. Not to cleanse the vibrations or whatever. Specifically magic intended to yeet a spirit.
At this point, do not try to ignore the problem or keep talking it out. Do not just try to meditate or whatever. Do magic. Do magic that banishes.
Here's a banishing spell if you need it:
Basil, cloves, red pepper
Candle (ideally, red)
Paper and ink
Small offering
Draw the planetary seal of mars and the planetary square on a piece of paper, ideally in red. Dress a candle in oil (*burning your house down is an effective way to banish a spirit but perhaps too heavy-handed; dress with care) and include either one or three dried, powdered herbal correspondences to it.
Dedicate the candle to Mars. ("Planet Mars, someone on the internet told me you'd help me if I asked - I'm asking now. I give this candle to you. It belongs to you now.")
Put the candle near the paper.
Evoke Mars. ("Planet Mars, where your symbol exists so you exist. Where your planetary square exists, so do you exist. The space has been made welcoming to you through the presence of these Martian correspondences.") The martian correspondences are the basil/cloves/peppers, btw ("I ask you to bring your attention now to me. I ask you to dwell fully in this space.")
Read the Orphic hymn to Ares if you'd like a little extra elbow grease behind your evocation.
Petition Mars. ("So please get rid of this spirit, it seriously sucks so bad.")
Offer payment. ("In exchange for this help I know you will provide, I give you this candle and also this [small offering].")
Seal the deal. No, you do not need to be able to receive psychic confirmation from a planet or whatever, but do not proceed if you feel any gut-level bad feelings or suddenly get a ton of anxiety. If that happens, be like, "Mars, buddy, never mind - I get a bad feeling about this, so I'm noping out. Thanks for listening while you did. Leave in peace."
But if you feel fine about moving ahead, just be like, "now I give you Mars this offering, and I light your candle, with full and total assuredness that this spirit will be permanently banished from my space, my life, and my home."
[Light the candle, give the offering]
Cleanse
The spirit should be gone before you put up wards
Residual ickyness can make you feel the spirit is still nearby even if its been banished
Cleanse your space and see if the symptoms of the spirit return.
If symptoms return, the spirit has not been banished.
If they don't return,
Put up wards.
Ya got haunted because ya didn't have a fence up to stop random cows from wandering into the garden of your life and trampling all your hard work. Put up the wards.
Oh, but maybe the banishment didn't work, in which case:
Mitigate symptoms.
I mean yeah, maybe try at least a few more types of magical banishing, call in a priest even. But!
Not every spirit can be banished. That's just the long and short of it.
As humans we have the capacity to intertwine our lives, intentionally or otherwise, with forces that cannot be immediately removed from our presence.
Like if the grand spirit of a forest hates all humans and you build a house in the forest, you're not going to be able to banish the forest from the forest, you feel me?
Sometimes, banishing isn't the solution.
As rare as it is, it happens. Make personal protections, use mirror or other illusory wards to hide from its attention, make reparations if possible, avoid attracting attention, and get on with your life.
damn girl, you'll make the prettiest flowers once your body rots into the earth
Your body is not a thing. You do not inhabit a meat suit. Your body is an ecosystem. Your body teems with tiny life, each cell a wild and free inhabitant, each expanse of muscle bone skin hair blood water mineral landscape it's own life web, crashing microclimates in oceans of complexity.
You would not tell the grassy knoll it has no right. You would not reduce the towering trees.
You would not dare yank the keystone species, or crush the brilliant biodiversity.
So do not use your mind to slice and fragment your ecosystem, to turn miracles into mere meat.

can't believe this worked
Hello Fool!
So yesterday something happened to me that I really don't know what to do with. In the past few weeks I've been talking this spirit with the help of a pendulum. Yesterday, as always, I wanted to connect again, but when I asked if it was the same spirit, it said no. Then I asked (multiple times) if it was another spirit and I never got a straight answer for some reason. After that, I asked some questions unrelated to this situation (like will x thing happen to me tomorrow etc.) and I always got a definitive answer. So I guess the pendulum worked, I was also in the correct headspace to communicate, it just didn't wanna answer that question.
The thing is, that yesterday, before (and tbh during and after) my little pendulum session, I was feeling terribly mentally. So at first obviously I thought that this was influencing the outcome and answers, but as I said, questions not about the 'spirit's' identity were answered right away.
Another strange thing I can't put into place, is that every single answer (that I got) was way more clear, and straightforward than any answer I got before, using the same pendulum.
So this may not even be possible, but could it be something not considered a 'spirit'? I'm of course planning to do some divination with tarot on the matter, but I wanted to know if this is an existing possibility to begin with.
Have a good day!
Hello! There are a lot of unknowns here, so let's jump in.
The word spirit is like vegetable. There are no 'vegetables,' it's a term of convenience given to many savory fruits, tubers, and tasty leafs.
That is to say: there is not now and will never be any conclusive, universal rules about what counts as being a spirit versus a different type of nonhuman person.
Individual practitioners or schools of magic may have extensive personal lexicons for terms such as spirit, ghost, living entity, poltergeist, and so on.
Other practitioners, like myself, call every nonhuman intelligence 'spirit' and get on with things.
Someone else might say, "of course, it might not be a spirit! It might be a ghost or an angel."
In my book, either it was a spirit (whether it be a ghost, angel, or otherwise) or you're just tricking yourself and having a conversation with your own subconscious energies.
***
It is my personal experience that almost no spirits who drop by to chat are interested in answering any questions about their personal identity.
And even spirits which are close friends of mine typically do not tolerate me asking the same question over again.
Imagine this scenario:
You're hanging out in your front yard and you put on your green slap bracelet, which as everyone in our society knows, means you want to talk to someone.
So a stranger shows up.
"Hey, are you the guy I talked to yesterday?" you ask.
"Nope," says the stranger.
"So you're a different guy?"
"..."
"You're a different guy then, right?"
"Uh,"
"If you're not the same guy as before, you're different?"
"Look..."
"Please answer my question. If you're not the same guy from before, does that mean you're a different guy?"
"..."
"But you ARE different? Or are you the same guy as yesterday?"
"..."
"Okay well... any ideas of what lunch will be served tomorrow?"
"PEAS AND RICE"
Framed in other terms, why would any spirit be obligated to answer any question at all? A spirit arriving to a communication session is not an agreement to reply to all questions. I can strike up a conversation with someone at the bus stop but not want to give them any details as to my identity.
Don't forget, identity details (especially names, but also other descriptive factors such as personality, species, area, and interests) can be used by magical practitioners to control and command spirits.
Not to mention that questions of identity, are, well - personal. It's bad manners to grill someone on their identity when you first meet them.
It's not necessarily fair for any of us to go, "aw, but it's just lil ol' me 🥺" and expect that unknown spirits will be immediately ready to answer every single question we ask. Nor is it fair for us to label certain questions as innocuous, and then get suspicious if spirits don't want to answer them.
Spirits enjoy communication for many of the same reasons we do. But no matter how you slice it, it's two-way communication with another being who has its own motivations and interests.
If you wouldn't give the stranger at the bus stop details of your personal identity in the first minute you start up a chat, it's a strange double-standard to expect that random spirits would want to.
***
It is my belief that it is our own energy which causes the pendulum to physically move.
But the intensity or interest of the spirit can comingle with that to provide stronger results.
A spirit that I can Hear and See very clearly might give the barest little input to a pendulum. I can be chatting clearly and directly with a spirit, question one of their replies, and pull out a pendulum -only to be met with the tiniest of movements as the spirit sarcastically messes with me for not trusting my own Hearing.
A spirit that I can't really Hear or See at all may make huge moments in the pendulum.
A spirit who is barely "present" but who is looking through to me because of my request for communication might move the pendulum only a little, while if they are fully present within the shrine they may move it a lot.
If they are interested, excited, or yelling, the pendulum can move more than if they are apathetic or bored.
The movement of my pendulum is bottlenecked by my own focus, since engagement of my own energy is required to make the pendulum "go" at all.
The movement of the pendulum also increases with practice, as I become more attuned to subtle energies.
So your reading could have been clearer just because the spirit was yelling at you, because it was standing 'right next' to you instead of 20 feet away, because your own skills are improving (as sometimes, jumps are to be expected instead of a smooth uphill curve), or many other reasons.
***
The following may be of assistance to you:
Practice your pendulum within a quickly cast circle (5 seconds or so spent on it will do). This stops random spirits from coming up to you. Then, invite specific spirits to join you in the circle. This way you should know who you're talking to, and it drastically reduces the randos walking up to chat.
2. Whether or not you're in a circle, specifically invite the spirit you want to talk to. Don't sit down and say, "okay, I'm ready to chat. Are you here, guy?"
Instead, try, "okay, I'm ready to chat. Are you here, guy that I talked to three days ago who doesn't like the color blue and thinks I should switch majors?"
(^^^ notice how even these seemingly surface-level identifiers can be used to reach out to and contact a specific spirit; when you know how little it takes to track the same spirit down, it becomes more understandable why strangers who stop by for a chat don't want to doxx themselves)
3. If you've enjoyed a conversation with a spirit, first ask them if they would be willing to come back and talk at a later time. If the answer is negative, politely thank them and move on. If the answer is affirmative, then ask, "I don't request your real name, but is there anything by which I might call you, so I can find you the next time I want to talk?"
Especially with pendulums, spirits may often concede to allow us to choose a respectful and relevant nickname for them.
4. It is sometimes appropriate to ask clarifying identity questions immediately - this is when you've taken the appropriate steps to make sure only the spirit you want to talk to should be able to arrive.
Suppose you've cast a quick circle and invited in Bob, who doesn't like the color blue. At that point it's appropriate to confirm: "Just to make sure, what was your opinion on my girlfriend?"
Or, say you want to contact the spirit of a tree. You set everything up for the tree and call to the tree. It's appropriate to ask: "are you a dryad? Are you the indweller of this tree?" (the same way someone might knock on a door and say, "are you the homeowner?" it's a different vibe than a bus stop chat).
***
If you're asking for opinions, the fact that the spirit didn't want to tell you its identity, and your response is to divine on it without its consent in order to gain that information anyway, tells me that it probably made the right choice.
Why You Should Keep Track of the Tarot Cards You Pull
People will often notice patterns to the cards they pull - you’ll notice that certain cards come up more often. This tends to be based on a feeling though, rather than any real data about which cards you’ve pulled - and the real data may surprise you.
I’ve kept track of the cards I’ve pulled in my single card readings over the past three months, and here are some things I’ve noticed:
I pull one card more frequently than any other card. In my case, that card is The Magician. It’s really useful to know - not just suspect - that one card turns up constantly for me.
Some cards don’t actually appear as frequently as I think they do. I recently pulled the Nine of Pentacles and thought, “Again?? Why do I pull this card so much??” but when I look at the actual data… I’ve pulled other cards way more frequently. I think it’s a form of the Baader-Meinhof effect - a card can stick in your brain for some reason and you remember it as appearing more often than it actually does!
There are interesting things about the cards that I don’t pull. In three months, these Major Arcana cards have never come up at all: The Emperor and The Devil. I can look at the data of what archetypes don’t appear in my life and draw some interesting conclusions. I’ve also not drawn a single court card (page, knight, queen, or king) from the suit of swords - swords tend to deal with conflict, which I maybe have less of during this particular time in my life
I can identify which suit and which numbered cards appear the most and the least in my readings. While the totals of Swords, Wands, Cups, and Pentacles I pull are pretty close to even, Wands eke out a little bit higher total than the others. Cups and Pentacles are tied, with Swords coming in last. If I didn’t have this data, I’d probably assume I pull Swords the most - because they leave the biggest impact on me when I do pull them! Of the numbered cards: I pull Aces of any suit the most, and Twos of any suit the least. This makes for some interesting patterns: The Magician is sort of the “Ace” of the Major Arcana, as well. Aces are about a very singular willpower whereas Twos are about partnership and duality. Through this pattern I can identify the focus the cards have on my life at this particular point in time.
I pull Major Arcana cards more than is statistically likely. The Major Arcana makes up 28% of the deck, but 39% of my pulls. The Major Arcana are more associated with long-term messages, and so my life may have more long-term type changes needing to be made during this period.
This is a quick guide to how you might interpret some of the overall themes you notice: Minor Arcana: temporary, easily changed, daily life, current situation Major Arcana: long term, archetypes, themes, life lessons, current lesson Wands: spirituality, inspiration, determination, strength, intuition, creativity, ambition and expansion; energy, motivation and passion. I’m not a classicist, but I suspect one of the reasons so many of the Greek gods are portrayed so unflatteringly was less because they were seen as villains than because they represented their domains. Of course Zeus sometimes misuses his power, that’s what a king does. Of course Artemis’s wrath is wild and painful, that’s what nature can be. Of course Hades snatched away a young girl from her mother’s arms, that’s what death does. This is one of the reasons callout posts for some gods comparing them negatively to ‘nicer’ gods are kind of missing the point.
as someone who is partially a classicist, this is a better analysis of Greek mythology as a whole than 99.95% of the takes I’ve seen on here (and a substantial number of the takes I’ve seen in ~academia~)
