Hello I have risen from the dead to complain about MID with the rest of y’all
About MID
Yeah the visuals were god awful and there were like no puzzles but I like where it was going with a darker, more serious plot and y’all can pry Francy from my cold dead fingers
I'm so glad to see Carson Drew is still a golf ball
It took me 7 hours to play MID, and this is about six and a half minutes of me actually enjoying myself (being generous here). These are pretty much the only times I laughed.
All the gay haircuts and 0 representation got me fucked up
after days of very little planning or work, i am proud to present to you… NANCY DREW AS VINES!
This is still one of my favorite in-jokes/references in any Nancy Drew game.
Fun fact: my sister and I actually played Secret of the Old Clock before Curse of Blackmoor Manor, so we didn’t have any clue what this meant at first. I vividly recall the ‘Eureka!’ moment I had at one point while playing (or replaying) CUR and connecting this ‘tip’ to the forge-lighting puzzle.
Wow I had no idea he gives you that tip!! That is cool!
Bless your heart, Bess.

I feel that we as a fandom really seriously overlook that statue in danger by design with the three mouths that just scream
When you find out your assistant has been spying on you and knows about your plan to bug the first lady
You know Nancy never actually wears the horse shirt and mom jeans, she just always has them in her suitcase.
Maybe the reason she always brings them along is because they remind her of her mom, and the times when she was alive?
whoa calm down there satan
let’s talk about how at one point in his life, grigor pretended to have sex with himself as his own mother and then gouged his eyes out
i’ve been thinking about it, and a big draw of the early games for me is that they don’t feel sterilized. beyond the general realism and the subject matter of the early cases, there’s a feeling that while nancy is only eighteen, she is still very much an adult in her mindset and that is the world she operates in. the newer games have these incredibly clean and overly friendly environments that make nancy seem less like the conscious young adult she is and more like she’s a life-hardened thirty year old doing a bad impression of how she thinks a teenager is supposed to act.
thank you for putting this into words
