Louder for the people in the back: No sympathy, no quarter, and no mercy
Donāt forget No Peace. Donāt give them a fucking minute.
Me rn:
Bonus:
Newborn babies all have terrible eyesight so that their brains donāt have to process as much information. Which I think is a little bit funny.
Nature was like āLook, we get it. Thereās a lot of stuff out here. A lot of pores on your dadās face. You have no idea what a hand is. Donāt worry about the pores for now. Just figure out, in general, what a hand is and then maybe weāll pump it up to high res.ā
I only got a decade or so of hi-res life before my eyes were like "actually thats enough, pack it in"
Friendly reminder that:
Young people can have arthritis too.
There are hundreds of life long conditions and diseases out there that are typically diagnosed between 12 and 30.
There is a vast difference between being tired and having chronic fatigue.
Just because you canāt tell that someone is unwell from looking at them, doesnāt mean that you should assume that they are ok.
Many chronic illnesses are life long, and incurable. Many of them are potentially fatal.
If you have a disease like Lupus, on good days you still feel like you have a bad flu, 24/7.
Many of the medications used to treat chronic conditions have side effects that can really affect someoneās self esteem - like extreme weight gain, skin changes and hair loss.
Most chronic illnesses have very little awareness - its unlikely that youāve heard of Sjogrenās Syndrome, Scleroderma, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or Fibromyalgia.
However these diseases can cause symptoms as varied as joint pain, fatigue, constant nausea, kidney failure, pneumonia, photo sensitivity, full body rashes, paralysis, strokes etc.
So please remember that invisible illnesses exist too :)
im not anti work, im anti wage slavery. there will always be important work to do. sometimes it's just really important and necessary and we gotta do what we must to survive. that's life! utopia isnt real but a much better way that benefits us all is.
turns out: we can work without destroying our minds and bodies to do it.

āAs a Mohawk librarian, when I defend audiobooks, it's personal. My people were telling stories orally long before stories came packaged in book form. There are many ways to 'ready' something. There are a thousand ways to tell a story.
When I assist a patron, I'm not helping them find the right book, I'm helping them find the right story. Whether it's a book or a movie or a comic or a video gameāthere is a reason that specific medium calls to you. There is no shame in the way your brain receives information.
The settler-colonial belief that stories in book form are superior is classist, racist, and simply untrue. It is virtue-signaling at its cringiest. Anyone who has a favorite voice actor will back me up. Alternative story telling methods make for rich sensory experiences.
A good story is all in how it unfolds. And how it unfolds is different for different folks. You have a unique perspective. Lean into it.
It's absolutely ableist as well. My patrons are blind, visually impaired, have physical and learning differences that make traditional print all but impossible to read, and, to a person, audiobooks are an incredibly vital part of their lives.
Also! Audiobooks are not a new thing. As early as 1931, the American Foundation for the Blind began creating 'talking books' for veterans of World War I and other visually-impaired people. Commercially, audiobooks began being produced and sold in the 50s.ā

zuko: my dad got mad at me for saying that killing people is wrong so he lit my face on fire and banished me.

itās so funny how iroh is always just like āoh donāt look at me I am but a stupid old manā and if anyone is like āum⦠noā¦ā¦ youāre the Dragon of the Westā heās like āwhat? that was , like, ages ago. six years ago, even. Iām stupid now. my brains turned to mush!ā and then they just believe him and completely let their guard down. I love it
Iroh leverages ageism to do whatever the fuck he wants, and to win at everything forever.
