Having thoughts on Brystal and how her interactions with death impacted her physically, instead of doing schoolwork

I refuse to believe that the magic-draining was just "oh no Lloyd lost his powers!" like with how important magic is to fairies, it had to have a physical and mental effect beyond Lloyd's feelings of betrayal

Maybe it is part of the reason he's so physically frail and further mentally unstable (NOT excusing his actions, I'm just trying to theorize, he is evil on his own accord, but I think losing the magic as a whole genuinely destabilized his mental state beyond his feelings for his mother and brother) because the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced because TLOS and ATOM both emphasize the importance of magic to magical beings, we saw what happened to fairies who were forced to suppress their magic, so what would happen if their magic was forcefully taken from them? It's like the question Katara asks Aang in the Atla comics, where she questions the "Non-violence" of unconsensually taking someone's bending

This relates so much to the Magic Draining because everyone saw it as the correct non-violent thing for Brystal to do. Like, the narrative tries its hardest to paint this event as necessary because Lloyd was becoming violent, but was it really? Was it really as simple as no more powers? Brystal herself acknowledges in her Squirrel story that Lloyd would have a harder time performing functions, but I don't think she fully thought through what that would truly mean.

At the end of the day, there was a violent effect on him that tied into his slow descent into madness. Because she did destroy a part of him, Brystal chained her son to a tree and dragged his magic out (Which took the form of him, horrifically) and drowned it. That was intense form of violence that she should've never done to a pre-teen child.

The existence of Brystal's magic space moth implies that the dead are somewhat aware of the living's events, and this implies that they might have an afterlife, which in turn implies that, after Lloyd's death, there was a Bailey family reunion with Brystal, the dad, John, and Lloyd.

This is a blog i made some time ago, to honour leelah. And while it’s true that her story stopped being talked about after a while I never forgot. And no lgbtq member ever did wither, especially the trans people who knew what she was going through and who identified with her. And now, Tumblr has once again started deleting posts about her and screenshots of her posts that are so importand because her parents keep trying to make her story into something that it isnt. This, right here, this is who she was. And she wanted her suicide to bring awareness to the trans community and she wanted people to fight. Her parents tried to make it look like a different story but her tumblr shows what was really going on. So what i have to say to Tumblr is fuck off. People knowing who she really was and young trans kids seeing her story and the support she got even if it was too late is importand and fuck you for doing this. Oh also, I have these saved and if you delete it i’ll post it again. So yeah fuck you, we will never forget Leelah and who SHE really was.

it does say something about the state of the queer community that no one really talks about or cares that since 1991 T has been a class III controlled substance in the united states. for decades now trans men and mascs have had our names tracked and traced if we were legally prescribed T. since before some of you were even born, the american govt has had a list of us.

you need to care about the trans men and mascs who have been on these lists for almost 30 years now. you need to care about more than the threat or concept of trans women and femmes being put on a list, because your brothers are already there.
