any tips for dealing with the exhaustion? the cynicism?
it's just this endless battle against misinformed and malicious beliefs. it never lets up, there's no "at least we can have [x]" bc *everything* we do is considered suspicious by tme peoples. hell, even a lot of tma people are happily using each other as stepping stones if it means being 1cm higher in the hierarchy. sorry, im tired.
the best ways I've found are:
- find transfems who you can trust. it's true that many of us are aspiring bus-throwers. a lot of us aren't. it's orders of magnitude harder to find trustable TMEs, but it can help to have some tether to the non-transfeminized world. good barometer for trustworthiness is whether someone can take you self-advocating or offering fair criticism. if they feel they're above you, then that truth is likely to come out in these moments
- find some ways, big or small, to advance transfeminism in your life and combat transmisogyny. you don't need to spend all your time doing this, but a little bit of a sense that you're making a dent to help you and your sisters, even a miniscule, barely perceptible one, can ward off the hopelessness. sometimes if I let my space get too messy, a sense of uselessness creeps in, but if I just do one tiny thing to tidy up, it does a lot to reaffirm my sense of agency
- projects and hobbies! this is the inverse of above. you gotta spend some time looking away, too, and immersing yourself in the joy of other aspects of life. game design is my biggest and longest passion, and I spend a lot of time devoted to it when I'm not more laser-focused on my transfeminism, as I have been lately. (not every hobby needs an end product tho! passive enjoyment can be healing too)
- if you can, WALKS. if you can't, some other way to give your brain time to chew over things while you do a menial physical task that doesn't pull your focus at all. I find that one of the single greatest predictors of my mental health at any given time in my life is whether I'm in the habit of taking daily walks where I listen to music and let my mind freely wander, get inspired, think about the future, chew over problems, reflect on where I'm at in life, etc. it sounds kind of nonsense, and for that reason I regularly forget it too, at my own peril! some of the more common pieces of good advice out there can be hard to believe until you give them an honest test and see the results
"it's really complicated" it's not
"there's room for nuance" there isn't
fuck zionism
never kill yourself . your next apple could be so good it makes you feel like a horse
Still thinking about this mobile game ad I got. You will f**k increasingly large creatures.

POINT OF NO RETURN!! CHILD NEAR DEATH!! PLEASE HELP!!
6-year-old Souad has been anemic since birth, and starvation and disease due to the IOF assault have caused her severe additional health complications. In September she fell unconscious and was admitted to the hospital. She has since been comatose and fluid is building up around her brain.
Medical staff have worked very hard to reduce the swelling. But despite their efforts, Souad's brain is now hemorrhaging (bleeding). The swelling has been too persistent, and the pressure is rapidly bursting the cells of her brain, causing bleeding. This will kill her. Little Souad is dying.
She needs to be evacuated outside of Gaza, but this is extremely expensive. The cost for transport through the Egyptian border, medical care, and associated expenses comes to $6,000 usd, about €5,000 EUR. This is a devastating setback, but all we can do is push forward.
PLEASE HELP US #SaveSouad!!!
Please repost the GFM and tag #SaveSouad to spread the word!. SHE DOESN'T HAVE MUCH TIME LEFT!!!
€7,070 out of €7,739 EUR (12 May)
Need to raise: about €669 EUR ($785 usd)
Information on vetting linked under the cut of this post
I am Alaa Al-Hanjouri, 32 years old. I used to work as a teacher, teaching children and carrying their dreams on my shoulders... but the war
NO PROGRESS IN 3 DAYS
And I just received word that Souad’s condition continues to deteriorate. In addition to the high cost of the medical evacuation, her family is also forced to pay high medical fees to the private hospital which is caring for her. It is the only facility in Gaza with the capacity to slow the deterioration of her condition, and these bills must be paid for her to have a chance at survival. Her family is facing overwhelming odds and desperately needs your help!

Cleaning gets easier when you remember it's a thing you're doing to make your life less miserable, and not a thing you're doing as punishment
You can stop in the middle of cleaning!?
Yes! Because it's not a goal to be achieved, but a cycle!
Instead of seeing the house as clean/not clean, it helps a lot to see cleaning as a constant upkeep of your environment. Taking care of your home, and of yourself, is a good thing!
(still unlearning the guilt and anxiety associated with cleaning. it's an uphill battle.)
