This gifset, man. There’s Rose—of course—but this gifset isn’t as much about her so far as I see it. It’s Pete realizing what’s happening. He bites his lip and doesn’t even lift an arm to stop his wife. He’s lost like this, a bit fresher in his memory than Jackie’s, but the wound is closed at least. There’s a sudden guilt about getting his happy ending when this girl he’s come to care for has lost hers. He blinks back the tears and bites his lip. He’s the strong one because right now he has to be. Then brilliant Jackie, running full force to her daughter, arms outstretched paces before Rose so she’ll be able to provide some comfort as soon as she can…So the minute her baby is in reach she’ll be in her arms. The way her arms rub Rose’s back as though she’s trying desperately to calm her baby girl, to keep her from turning around to look at the empty space where the Doctor once stood, to shield her from what’s already happened. She knew the moment Rose turned around that something was wrong. She didn’t have to wait for a sign. She was running before Rose even finished turning. The Tylers. The Motherfucking Tylers. (There’s something to be said for Mickey too…his eyes look dead, shock still setting in. He know what it looks like when something’s gone wrong, and something has gone horribly wrong. The wanker might have stole his girlfriend, but the both of them are family, and he promised to protect them as best he can. He failed…and it will be a long time before he forgives himself)
