in love with this Norwegian trotter named Express Go that’s won 7/7 races so far, is only 14.2hh, and has taught herself to duck down her head to give herself super speed (and lengthen her stride I guess)
Omg, I love her. Tiny queen.

All the people want is vampires and a direct deposit of $5000
right before you have major life commitments is the perfect time to get into a new fandom
A big reason I’m finding TVL hot takes so grating is that they fundamentally misunderstand that this is a tv show for 2026. Sure, some of the grievances are incredibly valid but the ‘Lestat is ooc’ ‘we’ve forgotten that Lestat is an abuser’ takes have no understanding of what TV execs require to get a show made right now. Your main character can be an antihero, but he can’t be universally hated cos the audience needs to be on his side. Your main character can do terrible things, but they can’t be beyond forgiveness because THE AUDIENCE NEEDS TO BE ON HIS SIDE.
It’s 2026. There is no funding in TV. Nobody can afford to take risks. And audiences aren’t tuning in for seven whole episodes to watch a protagonist be awful.
Criticise the pacing, the jarring dialogue choices, the modulating tone, but remember that Lestat had to be appealing to a 2026 audience for this show to even get past the treatment stage

Evening primrose. Birds. Could be nice. Could be.
A trailer park. Nevada, Utah, the desert. Couple folding chairs. Plant some flower boxes... Could be nice.

in a way john watson is a fantasy (what if you had this brilliant enigmatic friend and what if he liked you in particular and what if he offered you the excitement of youth and adventures and a way out of boring society life and all without having to actually give up your status as a gentleman so you could have the best of both worlds) and in a way sherlock holmes is a fantasy (what if someone never got tired of you despite your various strange habits and mood swings and instead of simply tolerating you they genuinely liked you and what if you didn’t have to live alone forever and what if you never had to give up doing the things you love) and of course there’s the most fantastical part of it all (what if you could afford london housing prices)
Well, famously they can't actually afford London housing, that's the whole reason they met.

and if i said nolan's odyssey starring no greek actors and with no recognizable aspects of greek culture or involvement by greeks, is the direct legacy of white supremacist colonialism that treated ancient greece as not just the pinnacle of ancient culture, but of an artificially created "european" culture, which white western europeans and their settler descendants, as the new pinnacle of culture, were the sole spiritual inheritors of.
^^^ PEOPLE ARE STILL THERE. There's a metro station across the street from the colosseum where i found a hair in my pizza slice. We drove by ruins of an amphitheater next to a motorway in greece once. It's literally just real places where real people live and have lived. It's not mythical perfect lands that once existed. I went to Itacha in 2023 and there was not enough parking space.
