Okay so I’ve started the saint of steel series by T. Kingfisher, and can I just say, I’m already loving it! I’m currently on the first book, Paladin’s grace and gahhh it’s got me kicking my feet and giggling! Like don’t get me wrong, I don’t normally get the hype of a lot of the book tok books, but dude this one is pretty great so far!! Men may not be my thing, but I could totally fall for Stephen! Like big hot paladin that knits, dude sign me up!

All of this to say that t. Kingfisher was convinced me that the hottest dnd class someone can be is paladin! And like I don’t just mean like playing one. Like just because you play one doesn’t mean you would be one, you know what I mean?? Like I personally love to play clerics, but if I was a dnd character I would probably be a bard (I thought wizard for a while because I’m a nerd, but I’m a nerd with adhd so more of Jack of all trades type, plus I play 7 instruments lol). But yeah anyway, like t. Kingfisher has convinced me that there is nothing hotter than a paladin! Like they have the muscle and protective shit like a fighter, but like the devotion that Hozier gives in every one of his songs, you know?? Like imagine being the most important person in a paladins life?? Yes please, sign me up!

So like I was thinking about who would be best with Makino as a pairing (even if they aren’t the parent of her baby, it was just what got me thinking!) and I’m so curious what others think!

Totally realized I forgot to add any rational for my 3 choices, primarily bell-mere, but like basically:

Shanks: I feel like this is pretty self explanatory, like canon wise it made sense!

Benn beckman: man I’m not sure who came up with this idea, but it was a good one and I could see it, like I love shanks, but like I can see the appeal of Benn, I’m not gonna lie, he seems very stable and that just feels like a solid, which in the long run sounds very nice!!

Bell-mère: so this is is much more of a stretch but I saw it on a tumblr poll a while ago and was like damn, I didn’t even think this was an option, but I always love a sapphic ship, and Bell-mere is just awesome and like great! She loves her kids, protective of her family, and is very attractive (not at all necessary or even really relevant here per say, but like objectively it’s true so!) Just overall a great left field option that now lives in my brain rent free!!

Okay so like I’ve finally past 1000 episodes in one piece (like 1010 now!) and I’ve met Yamato and everything, so like first can I just say, I love Yamato!! I think he is amazing and he is quickly becoming one of my favs! But like I don’t get why when I look up stuff about him on here and TikTok people keep misgendering him, like I do because people can be transphobic and shit, but like except for like after he revealed his face and shit to Luffy, like no one else really questioned his gender, right, like even Luffy didn’t super question it, he was just like wait I thought you said you were kaidos son, and Yamato was like yeah dude, odens a dude so I’m a dude, and like everyone else is fine with it, right, like kaidos guys keep calling him young master Yamato, and when Yamato, shinobu, and momonosuke bump into franky with the giant dude and the armament division, and like momo said this fellow, which like can be gender neutral, but then when yamatos arrow hit the giant dude, and franky was like did he do that, like no one uses any feminine terminology to refer to him, so why do so many fans???? Like I saw someone say that he only identifies as a dude because oden did, but I feel like if it was supposed to just be a stupid gag thing to go along with the oden thing, everyone else in kaidos army would use feminine terms, especially like the superstars and the tobiroppo who are like high up in kaidos army, they wouldn’t give a shit, right? Like they totally don’t like Yamato, so they wouldn’t care about indulging him, but like everyone uses the correct pronouns, so like why can’t the fans? Okay so I just started watching 911 lone star (I saw a post about tk and Carlos and had to see it) and I am currently one episode 6 of season 1, and can I just say, seeing the entire team rallying around Mateo to help him study and adapting how they help him because of his dyslexia and I just love it! It was super touching watching them rally to help him, and the strategies they use can actually be stuff we use to better teach our students with dyslexia or other reading based learning disabilities, like the read aloud and when Marjan and Mateo are studying and she starts not asking in a multiple choice format to help him realize he does know the information, that can totally be helpful for anxiety and just how they all support him is great! And then seeing how fantastic he did after that help and the format change just shows how much accommodations can help! I just loved it!

Okay so I was at a con this weekend (it was so fun!) and there was this both with a ton of character keychains (I’ll comment the shop name when I can get to my back with the shop cards!) and they had mxtx and other character pins, including Merlin and Arthur from Merlin(gahhh no one ever has stuff about them!) but they also had mobei Jun and Shang qinghua and I just realized that I need a moshang Merlin au, because prince who is used to getting his way, and servant who is smarter/more capable than he may try to appear! Like it just hit me that it would be perfect and now I want it very badly!

So you know those moments when your like hyperfixated on something, but it’s got like a small fandom and so there is like no merch or anything, which like sucks! Of course that is me right now with Dinghai, like I’ve already preorder both manhua volumes but the preorder for the actual novels isn’t available yet, and like there’s nothing on Etsy or anything (like seriously I have found the sets of Chinese novels on AliExpress and some can buttons on mecari, that’s it). So I don’t know about anyone else but in those moments my adhd has the audacity to be like well we will just make our own shit. So for the starter I decided to take an old Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan figure set and attempt to repaint them, so like I wanted to show my progress. I’ve never like painted small figures before (I love dnd but the idea of painting mini figures scares me) so like they aren’t great by any means and I still have to add another coat and some detail stuff as well as touching up and accidental paint spots on their hands and faces, but so fair I think they are turning out pretty ok!

Like they aren’t great or anything and in an ideal world I would have used a san lang and Xie Lian figure set, but it would have to be specifically San lang and not hua cheng because a) need a pony tail and b) the eye patch, and I only have ones of hua cheng so that was a no go, but I think they are turning out pretty alright! I was basing them more off their manhua designs, or at least used them as inspiration!

Like once i finish another coat then I’ll do the hair beads and the little crown thing (hot glue has been great for this) but I feel like for a first time project it’s not turning out to poorly!

Okay so like I’ve been rewatching the donghua for Dinghai Fusheng Records today, and like I haven’t read the book (by the time I tried to read it on chicken gege the translation has already been announced through seven seas so they took it down so they can do the official translation, and I can’t find any other translations of the novel ) but like please tell me they get Chen Xing another puppy, and like I know they end up meeting Xiao Shan, but like a wolf boy is different than a puppy, because like I just finished episode 7 of the donghua again and my heart just hurts for him, like the pain on his face in both the show and the manhua just kills me 😫!! So like if anyone knows if he gets a dog again and wants to let your girl know so I can finally be a pease about this, it would be much appreciated!

Also like can I just say I think Chen Xing has taken the spot as my new favorite Danmei character, I just love him so much! And I love the dynamic already between him and Xiang Shu, and I really just need more content with them!!

Okay so this is sort of an out there question thing, maybe, but I am looking for some advice from the cosplay community. So I recently went to a convention with some of my sisters, and we had so much fun and were talking about going to another convention in the fall and really like doing full cosplays, you know? We’re trying to make as much as we can by hand (which means I’m making it by hand haha) but obviously one thing that we will buy will be any necessary wigs. Now often any costume thing I’ve done before, I usually stick with characters that at least have my hair color (my hair is dark brown, thick and curly for reference) because I tried a wig once before and it was supposed to be adjustable and stuff but I could not get it to fit on my head (I also have a larger head, around 22.5-22.75 inches circumference). But my younger sister recently got into Genshin impact, which I’ve been playing for a couple years now, and she really wants to cosplay from it. She wants to do Klee and wants me to do Lisa so we kind of match and stuff. I’m ordering her a wig to try, and it says it is an adjustable wig cap up to 23.6 inches. They offer both a Klee and a Lisa wig, so I plan to try the Klee one on before I buy the Lisa one, so if it doesn’t fit then I didn’t waste any money. So I guess this is where my questions come into play. My first question is specifically for any cosplayers or people who frequently wear wigs who have a larger head and lots of hair. Do you all have any tips or tricks, like any advice on how to get a wig to fit, like is there some secret technique I haven’t found? How do you all get the wigs to stay on your head without being really lumpy?

And my second question is, if this wig plan fails and I can’t get it to work, do I need to change my plans and like find a character that has at least similar color hair to mine? Or could I just use my hair for Lisa and call it close enough? Is that breaking some like cosplay taboo or anything? Sorry for all the questions but I just want to get this figured out before I put too much money into it! Thank you all for your help!

May the 4th be with you! Happy Star Wars day!! I’m enjoying some blue milk pancakes and blue milk inspired by the galaxy edge version, featuring grogu and the phantom menance, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this month! My dad and I are talking about watching the entire Star Wars movies and shows! I did it a couple years ago, but it was before Ashoka and Obi-wan kenobi came out so I need to redo it! I’ll have to share my yoda cucumber sandwiches for game night with my friends tomorrow! They will be so cute!!

Okay so like I just binge watched all of Legend of Exorcism, and I AM SO ANGRY BECAUSE LIKE WHAT THE HELL IT ENDS ON A CLIFF HANGER AND THERES NO SEASON 3!!!!!!! I am beside myself right now and I just gahhhhh!! I need someone to let me know if it ends well!! Have you ever had one of those moments that you do something and your like damn, I feel like this is something insert character would do? Because man I just totally had one of those moments!

Okay so I was at working, doing my teacher thing right, and I got an email that looked like it was from my principal, like it came listed with their name, but the email was different, but like I figured it was their personal email. It was kind of weird and was asking for my cellphone number because they had to talk to me about something. I emailed back and was like did you mean to email me this? And I got a response that sounded like how my principal speaks that was like yes, I just really need your help with something very important. Now I knew my principal was out at the moment, so I was like oh gosh what happened, and of course sent my number. Right after I send it we get a mass email from the front office that someone is impersonating our principal via email….

After my mini panic attack and then laughing because like I felt kind of dumb, I was like I shouldn’t feel bad or stupid because you know who would totally do this, Xie Lian. He would totally accidentally fall for a scam or something like that, and that makes me feel better because he is a god so if he would do it then like it really isn’t so bad right??
