ok this looks ultra mega based, are you kidding me? can you imagine the bullshit i could get up to with this bad boy? fuck yes i want ten
Wait are iPhone bros coping because Apple has to be more universal? Lol.
Boo hoo i'll be able to add more physical storage to my phone and be able to change out batteries if they degrade as well as all these other optional features I won't have to touch
Continuing in the trend of political cartoons depicting milquetoast moderate positions seem so much cooler and more badass than they are
I love how they add totally absurd things no one is asking for to make the idea look crazy. And still, I must emphasize, failing to make this look like a bad idea.
"Is this what you want? Is this ugly stupid bullcrap what you want??" the biggest loudest idiot in the room asks, holding up a picture of the hottest looking shit I've ever seen
husband just reminded me of that time years ago when we were running a co-op farm in stardew valley
after we got married in-game it did the thing it does and asked us if we wanted to have a baby
we were like yeah sure why not, we're not having kids irl so may as well have a cute lil' virtual baby that costs us nothing and we can turn into a dove at any time
like the very next day we got that super rare 0.8% chance event that we had NO CLUE ABOUT where a freaking alien capsule drops on your farm in the middle of the night and the next day it's like shattered and whatever was inside is running loose
and we just froze and looked at each other like "??? is this our baby???" 😭😔
#congratulations mrs and mr kent [tag by @gremlinbehaviour]
i will do ANYTHING but work on my essay apparently
imagine if you will, a fairly dry survival crafting game in which you live in a bunker and must periodically venture out to scavenge food, set up turrets for attacking monsters, etc
now, your computer inside the bunker has a game-inside-a-game on it which is a charming farming sim of undeniably greater quality and scope than the survival game you're playing. therefore, the object of the game becomes to keep your bunker secure so you can play the farming game more.
now, once you achieve the highest rating in the farming game, a secret shop inside it unlocks, and one of the novelty items you can purchase is a game console, giving you access to games-inside-a-game-inside-a-game. most of the games for it are typical mobile shovelware, but one of them is a highly polished, extremely brutal precision platformer with amazing level design and production values exceeding that of the survival game and farming sim combined.
it is only at this point that the purpose of this entire contrivance becomes clear: to create the most deranged speedrun community the world has ever seen.
#what is it with being euphoric and being horny pretty much being the same thing in our generation #are we THIS starved of affection? are we THIS full of love to give? #maybe its the world being fucked up #and our constant need of escapism being turned into wishing for eternal vacation
People who grew up in conservative religious communities, especially those raised as girls, are taught that there's something wrong with them if they experience sexual desire, that it's shameful and a sign of brokenness to be horny, and that the only sex they can expect to ever have will be an experience they will have to disassociate from, but won't be able to say no to, with zero focus on their enjoyment, and that will eventually end in them getting pregnant over and over again, whether they want it or not.
So with that context, you might be able to deduce why being able to be openly horny and have sex that is not only not painful and traumatic, but is genuinely all about what they want and like, may be freeing for many people who were raised to be sex dolls & walking wombs.
Also, if by "this generation" you mean gen z, you guys are actually incredibly sexless compared to previous generations.
Having a healthy, active sex life is very good for you. Masturbation is good for you. Sexual pleasure is one of the few sources of dopamine we have that companies can't charge us for or monetize. It's always 100% good when people are able to have exactly the kind of sex life they want and sex is not in any way an inferior way of expressing/experiencing closeness & connection, and horniness isn't an inferior emotion either.
Can I add that being euphoric, happy and fullfil in a same-sex sexual situation is a big deal when you were raised to think gay sex is this shameful low thing that will kill your soul and degrade you as a person?
Most churches that are not as intolerant, that don't raise you to be a tradwife baby machine STILL paint gay sex as a vice that will make you miserable inside. So saying "I'm actually happy AND horny" is important.
Shame around sex is an issue in religious communities, even if you are straight, even if your church isn't as conservative. I have heard from multiple people how hard is too switch from "I have to resist sexual temptation" to "I can enjoy sex now" the minute you are married and "allowed". And I'm talking about churches that don't condemn masturbation or feminine pleasure. Shame around sex is a problem. Celebrations of sex are necessary.
Had to add prev notes cause it's too good a point to lose.
Allowing yourself to feel all your feelings openly and freely is liberating, actually, including and especially horniness 🔥🔥🔥🔥
also, not to derail this conversation from the importance of unlearning sexual shame, but the original post isn't even that horny? there's a mention of a trans man, his boyfriend, and a vague implication that they might have sex in the future, but the post isn't about sex - it's about decoration in their bedroom and the fact that they're very happy together, doing mundane things like fixing a wobbly candle holder.
the way queer people are often hypersexualized against their will, i'd be wary of a person who sees a trans man say "i'm fixing this candle holder in our bedroom so it doesn't fall off the wall when i have sex with my boyfriend" and thinks it's the pinnacle of hornyposting and a sign that a whole generation is unable to express affection if it's not through horniness.
with that being said, i second all the previous additions about how horniness is natural and good and it should absolutely be encouraged instead of suppressed. it just doesn't sit right with me to see queer people and queer relationships as something that's inherently so sexual that even a mention of sex between two men is a sign of some kind of cultural hypersexuality.
It takes so little for people to feel like you're being aggressively hypersexual & in your face about it when you aren't cis & straight.
Cis straight people can make small talk with their coworkers about how they're "trying for a baby" (fucking often & raw) and it's fine but god forbid a queer trans person as much as implies that they're sexually active.

Article about it here.
what’s important to note and missing from the “headline” tweet is that they simultaneously constructed additional good public transit to the public transit already in the city (bus rapid transit, train stations). Just removing highway alone isn’t going to make traffic better, the bigger part of the story is that they improved public transportation. And the current mayor wants to do more - cyclist lanes and reinstate a tram system
we gotta get back to torrent distribution, i just watched someone eat eight grand in bandwidth charges because they ran a direct-download piracy site with local file hosting through cloudflare. torrents were invented literally for this exact reason
torrents work like this
i have a file or folder on my pc that i want to share with other people. let's call it gayshit.mp3
unfortunately gayshit.mp3 is 750mb and im not paying for discord nitro so i need another way to send it
i put it into qbittorrent and it makes a torrent file. this is essentially a very small file that points to gayshit.mp3 so other computers can find it. kinda like a treasure map
i send this tiny file to my friend, who loads it into qbittorrent. their computer takes a moment to find mine over the vast expanse of cyberspace and then (as long as my pc is running and the file is still where it should be), it gets copied from my hard drive to theirs
this is the cool part: if somebody else loads that tiny file, they can download it from both of us. if i'm offline but my friend is on, the third person can still get it. this also means that if two people have separate halves of the file, they can download the other half from each other. as long as some combination of people have the pieces between them, they can all have the whole thing.
crucially this does not require a server!!! you can just upload the file to a few people and as long as they keep it, it's still accessible. as long as somebody, somewhere is still connected, it's available forever. the only way it goes away is if everybody disconnects from it.
please learn to torrent

always use qbittorrent, do not use bittorrent or utorrent.

“When I first saw the original painting, I began to do some research on that little boy. I could find everything I wanted about every other detail in the painting, but there was nothing about him. No history. And so I wanted to find a way to imagine a life for this young man that the historical painting had never made space for in the composition: his desires, dreams, family, thoughts, hopes. Those things were never subjects that the original artist wanted the viewer to contemplate. In order to reframe the discussion, I decided to physically take action to quiet [and crumple] the side of the painting that we’ve been talking about for a very long time and turn up the volume on this kid’s story. And that’s the reason why I started that painting.” Via Artnet News 2019/03/27

I feel that "lawn care" as promoted in the USA can be considered some kind of pseudoscience.
It doesn't have the conspiracy-theory-adjacent qualities of virtually every other "pseudoscience," which makes me hesitant to call it that, but the theory and method of it is still full of totally unsupported junk.
Where do I start?
I'm a gardener and so are the majority of people I spend time around. If you are mowing 3+ times a week and regularly spending money on fertilizer, soil tests, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides, you have chosen the most expensive, time consuming thing you could possibly do with your yard. Unless you are a farmer as your livelihood, NOTHING else you could grow is that high maintenance. Nothing.
Most turfgrasses are invasive species. I said it.
The practice of "nuking" your lawn (killing everything in it and "starting over")...If you have a so-called "weed problem" this is probably the worst thing you can do.
Listen to me very carefully: "Weed" seeds are everywhere. There is, at all times, a supply of seeds lying dormant in the soil, waiting for the right conditions to sprout. (It's called the "soil seed bank" and you can look it up.) They are capable of "waiting" for years, even decades. Furthermore, most "weed" species spread by wind, meaning you can't physically eliminate them from an outdoor area unless you...surround your entire yard with an incredibly fine mesh netting and never leave, I guess.
Heavy management will make your "weed" problem progressively worse and worse because those plants are specifically adapted to colonize barren areas that recently underwent disastrous events that killed off most life.
Basically all plants are adapted to live in the company of other organisms, and suffer when there are no other plants around. "Weeds" with deep taproots penetrate into and aerate the soil. Clover puts nitrogen in the ground that other plants need. Low ground covers keep the soil moist and stop the sun from baking your grass to a crisp.
The plant "taking over" your lawn is probably not killing your grass. Your grass is dying and it's being replaced by something more suited to the environment. This is supposed to happen.
Monocultures are notoriously susceptible to disease and mass die-offs. "Oh no a big patch of my lawn is dying!" Yeah, that happens when you plant monocultures. You set yourself up for this.
"Why is there a bare patch in my yard/why won't grass grow well here?" Because in nature, each plant has a relatively narrow range of conditions it likes to grow in, so other plants it might otherwise compete with can stick to their preferred conditions and nobody has to compete directly. Win-win. Not all parts of your yard have the exact same amount of sun, moisture, etc. Expecting the plant life to look the same is unrealistic.
Let me make this very clear: It is fully impossible to "solve" the problem of plants popping up in your yard that aren't your one favored variety of grass. You will be buying herbicides for the rest of your life, and it will get worse, not better, because willy-nilly use of herbicides is leading to plants developing herbicide resistance faster than we can come up with new herbicides.
