I know I said I hated the last two episodes of S2, but I’m still thinking about how angry Geralt, Geralt who almost wanted to kill Yennefer, still panicked when she decided she’d sacrifice herself for Ciri. How desperate he actually was to save her.

Even when he’s angry with her, he still loves her, he still doesn’t want to lose her.

This is why I’m convinced his “I don’t forgive you” was spoken of anger and to punish her, but that he didn’t mean it, because he can’t ever hold a grudge against her.

He even calls her Yen a few times in the end, begging her not to go through with it, and when she’s done it anyways, he still doesn’t give up - he has Ciri help figure out a way to save Yen.

That’s true love, y’all.

If an resource designed to cater to disability is limited, then don’t use it if you’re not disabled - like the limited number of disabled parking spaces or disabled toilets; if you use one, then someone who needs that resource won’t have access.

But if a resource is not limited, then more use will encourage more production. So use it! Buy it! Gluten free food became cheaper and more widely available after it became a fad diet, and now it’s easier for coeliacs to buy the food they need. Stim toys like fidget cubes became widely available and common use when they became a fad.

The less niche something is and the more commonly used something is, the easier it will become to obtain.

big fan of polite and minimal explanations when you need to get out of work, school, plans etc. just a definitive ‘sorry but I can’t make it today.’ and then if they press for details or are rude about it say ‘sorry, something came up. thanks for understanding’ i’m over the idea that you have to exaggerate/overexplain your situation even when you don’t want to do that to be worthy of flexibility and grace in your life

“Most of what you think you know about Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is wrong.

This is the model that we all learned in psych 101 is wrong [image of Maslow’s pyramid is shown] where our basic physiological needs are at the bottom of the pyramid and achieving one’s full individual potential is at the apex.

What you may not have known is that Maslow spent 6 weeks with the Blackfoot First Nation in the summer of 1938. He learned about their worldview and the Blackfoot Tipi, appropriated and misrepresented their perspective to establish his own Maslow’s hierarchy, and then didn’t give them credit.

According to the Blackfoot Tipi, self-actualization is at the bottom of the pyramid. In the middle we have belonging and community actualization, where people take care of each other and help each other with their basic needs. It makes so much sense, right? Taking care of oneself is not enough. We need to take care of each other and our community.

This is why we need to decolonize psychology.”

I want everyone to have access to basic necessities and a high quality-of-life. But I also want people to thrive, and that means more than just the basics. Humans deserve to have good lives! They deserve to live in comfortable homes, and take vacations, and eat a variety of foods, and explore the world they live in, and be surrounded by bright colorful things that make them happy. People deserve to be excited about being alive! They deserve to enjoy the amazing things this world has to offer! And it's ridiculous that in a world full of this strange new abundance of wealth and wonders and resources—things beyond anything our ancestors could predict!—the majority of the population still struggles just to meet basic needs.

Humans deserve better lives. All of us, not just the ones on top.

Days after a poacher’s trap killed a young mountain gorilla in Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park, researchers have spotted something remarkable: two four-year old gorillas working together to dismantle similar snares in the area.

Some conservationists were approaching a poacher’s gorilla trap to destroy it when an actual gorilla stopped them and warned them off while two other gorillas came by and took the trap apart. They had to have thought the humans were going to get caught in it
