To correctly get better, patients need empathy, they need someone to talk, someone who acknowledged them. Robots, machines and AI can't do that. A nurse is there to take care of patients and notices if anything (physical and emotional) get bad, if a patient is in a bad mood, they will get sick again and won't heal correctly. Doctors also speak with patients and can notice little things that look odd. Medical care need humans before machines! Yes, I know a lot of people experienced bad medical behaviours, and I'm sorry for you, but replacing people by AI and robots won't make it better... It will just get worse! Robots, AI and machines can HELP but not REPACE.
You know, I see a lot of sort of people talking about being a minority, having so few representation in various medias (comics, movies, series, manga,...): People of Colors, LGBTQ+, autistic people, TDAH people, visible and invisible disabilited people, etc.
They are right, of course.
But there is a minority who is practically ignored by everyone. Do you see who am I talking about?
Left-handed people.
Yup, we are the most ignored minority! We live in the world made for right-handed: scissors, some medical tools, some video game on DS, sewing machine, computer mouse, etc.
You probably think: "it's just a hand. It's a detail." Trust me, it's not. For example in sport like: tennis, fencing, ping-pong, golf, baseball...
When I was younger, I played baseball at sportclass. When it was my turn to be the batter, the pitcher didn't know how to throw the ball at me. I wasn't standing like right-handed, I was in mirror and it was perturbing for her.
In the past, left-hand people was forced to write with their right hand... and couldn't write correctly because of this. The Christian religion claimed that the left hand was the hand of the Devil... And it was like this until 1960-1970...
Now, if you don't believe that left-handed people can't be seen as a minority, tell me what we are then?
Also, let's play a game: give me at least the name of 5 characters of whatever media who are confirmed to be left-handed.
Xion and Ventus from Kingdom Hearts don't count:
Xion is supposed to be left-handed but use her right hand.
Ventus was left-handed in the secret ending of KH2 but is right-handed in BBS, 3D and KH3
Here mine:
Luigi (Mario games)
Peach (Mario games)
Rosalina (Mario games)
Link (the Legend of Zelda serie except Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom)
Thomas Ward (The Wardstone Chronicles of Spook's)
John Gregory (The Wardstone Chronicles of Spook's)
Honorable mentions:
Nero (Devil may Cry)
Why honorable mention, in DMC4, his right arm is possessed by demonic power and he feels ashamed to using it at first. At his first fight with Dante, he only use his left-hand. And then, in DMC5, his right arm got cut and replaced by a prosthesis.
Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Before the human transmutation, we can clearly see him using his right hand, after getting his automails, he uses his left hand to write.
It terrifies me that there’s so much raging passion in the lgbt+ community that insist on marginalizing asexuals and implying that asexuals don’t deserve to have safe spaces. There’s still so much acephobia so I just wanna know which blogs are genuinely supportive and a safe space for asexuals
Don't you think it's funny how in lot of medias, USA is showed as the great hero who comes to save the poor countries form conflicts, poverty, etc. When in reality, they just put their nosy nose in situations that doesn't involve them just to make profit. Like when they sold weapons and ressources to BOTH sides of conflict... And they probably keep doing it... But the things is, they use media to be see as the good guy, like propaganda... And we all know that's a lie, but what we can do? A clown is leading a global power and we can't do anything but watching the wrecked train happening... Just hoping it won't affect us to much...
He’s an astronomy nerd. This is not only evident from his excitement over the meteor shower, but also the fact that he has astronomy books in his room and astronomical symbols on his walls. He also has his own telescope!
He also keeps plants—he appears to be a green thumb. He also has an empty birdcage for some reason? It’s very possible that he found it and thought it was cool and just has it for the aesthetic, but it’d be fun to think he had a bird at some point.
At some point he learned to breakdance—but WHERE??? WHEN???? There’s no way in heck it was Eraqus, so it’s possible he learned during his Union Cross days, which means this is more of a muscle-memory skill to him.
He was probably only around eleven or twelve years old when he became a Union Leader and he was possessed by Darkness and killed Strelitzia.
He was sixteen in Birth By Sleep, which made him the oldest KH protagonist up until that point.
The Keyblade he wields in Union Cross is Missing Ache.
Though his heart was asleep housed within Sora’s throughout his childhood up until KH3, it’s implied that he was semi-conscious the whole time, and it’s possible that he remembers Sora’s adventures.
Did Anyone notice Ira's mask is the only one with red eyes? All the others' have yellow eyes! Why? Luxu doesn't have a mask so I don't know what colour the eyes would be but we 5 masks and only one with red eyes!
RIP Marjane Satrapi, author of the amazing graphic novels Persepolis about living during the fundamentalist revolution in Iran in the 70’s and 80’s. She also created the animated movie based on the graphic novels, which is where these gifs come from.
Reblogging in honor of Marjane Satrapi, one of THE great graphic novelists. Her comic Persepolis was a crucial text for shaping my belief that comics can deeply explore identity, culture, politics, and history.
Sora (Kingdom Hearts) would (and could) befriends the AI so it stop to stole art from others, be less polluting and when someone tries to generate a picture, it would just give a list of Artists who could do it for them!
