Assorted Pokemon from the chill stream. Making some full teams for my comic cast members. Being very loosey goosey with the anatomy here, ’s good exercise. Should color these for selling at cons or whatever. I’m memetick on twitch.

“You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” - A. A. Milne
This time of year can be difficult for some people. We hope all of those feeling sorrow or loss will find the support and help they need. Take a walk in nature, open up to a trusted friend, spend time doing something worthwhile. You are not alone. Photo of a gray tree frog by Rick Hansen, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Did you know there is a national sea monkey day on May 16th? I didn’t!
Here is an infographic about sea monkeys (fairy shrimp) and their cousins.
Hello! Hoo boy it’s been a while, and I know this isn’t beetle related and may not seem like much in the grand scheme of things, but my sister has been a Jo Bros fan since the OG days of Burnin Up, and she’s made it to be one of the five Aus finalists in the Sunrise LA Jonas Brothers meetup comp.
Tough thing is, the finalists win based on views, so I was wondering if you could all maybe help to make her dreams come true by watching her submission or at least clicking it and letting it play through while you go on about your lives.
Thanks so much, sending love to all
There are more species of ladybug than mammals. There are more species of weevil than fish. The average animal is a beetle.
Show me an “animal-lover” who hates insects and I’ll show you a hypocrite.
There’s a saying that goes something like “If you attempt to understand God through His creation, you will soon be forced to conclude He has an inordinate fondness for beetles.”
Regarding Comfrey tea
(Maybe I shouldn’t be on tumblr while using my work internet but I’m angry. Sorry IT overlords.)
There’s a tea shop on the Lower East Side that sells an herbal tea that is literally poisonous and carcinogenic. The FDA recommends that it not be sold because it contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids, which are incredibly hepatotoxic.
I was too shy to mention anything when I saw it at the tea shop the other day, but after talking to some coworkers and a professor, I decided to call and ask if they’d consider removing it from their shelves, as giving people this product was actively harming them.
This shop informed me that they were licensed herbalists. (There is no such thing.) They told me that people people have been consuming this herb for thousands of years. (This is true. This doesn’t mean they haven’t been dying of liver failure because of it.) And finally, they said that it is still perfectly legal to sell, because the FDA only issued a voluntary recall of products containing comfrey and they could do what they damn well pleased. (Perfectly true.)
At this point, I hung up, having felt my due diligence was done. Don’t do tea, kids.
Cripes, these types can take a long walk off a short dick. The fact they KNOW the particulars of the FDA recall just shows they’re knowing bullshitters and don’t even believe in the medicinal history of comfrey. Comfrey is like alternative medicine in that it sounds soothing and harmless but can burn you from the inside out. >:(
The sand cracks in pic 3 are crab shaped... carcinization strikes again...
A Cape rain frog [Breviceps gibbosus] unimpressed with the quality of photographer Van Rensburg‘s shovel. These frogs push the limit of what we’d normally consider a frog, disinclined to jump and incapable of swimming. This specimen was found in Cape Town, South Africa.

Watch a single cell become a complete organism in six pulsing minutes of timelapse
Native to central and southern Europe, the amphibious alpine newt breeds in shallow water, where its larvae are born, hatch and feed on plankton, before sprouting legs and moving to land.
This timelapse video from the Dutch director Jan van IJken tracks the development of a single-celled zygote into the hatched larva of an alpine newt.
Captured in stunning detail at microscopic scales, Becoming is a remarkable look at the process of cell division and differentiation, whence all animals – from newts to humans – come. For more awe-inspiring biology from van IJken, watch The Art of Flying.
Video by Jan van IJken
I could watch this for days. The little cells migrating, and all the infolding??? Snatched, little newt.
Hey let’s all do this thing again
This was so fucking difficult good lord

tumblr sucked yet its the only thing people like us could ever have posted on. tumblr was a deep sea geothermal vent and we are all pallid, desperate crabs snapping at the dark toxcic nutrients spweing from its hole, and bringing us into the harsh light of the instagram influencersphere would kill us instantly.
Facts.
