I had a fic idea earlier today where Tim never joins the batfam and never goes to the school to meet Darla and Bernard. But he becomes like a mob boss and meets Darla through that and meets Bernard through her. And the moment he sees Bernard he's like "that's gonna be my man." (Less in a possessive way though, more just like instant infatuation.) So the dynamic is just like Bernard: "uh, hello" Tim: "you are beautiful and perfect, I will be taking care of you now" coming on very strong. I have one scene in my head where Bernard accidentally like walks into a gang fight or something and gets knocked out. So Tim rescues him, brings him to his (Tim's) apartment and puts him up on the couch. When Bernard wakes up the next morning he doesn't have time to change for school and his current clothes probably have blood on them, so Tim makes him wear his clothes and keep them. Similar stuff keeps happening and Tim keeps giving Bernard stuff. One, because it is a subtle way to show that Bernard is under Tim's protection, and two, because it's a way to show his love for Bernard without being physical, outwardly dating, or anything that could make Bernard feel trapped or that he has to requite Tim's feelings. So Tim does kinda become his sugar daddy.

Tim, as a non-heir son of king Bruce, is a knight of Gotham kingdom and politcal advisor

Bernard is the son of a noble who met Tim when they were kids and his parents were trying to shmooze with Bruce. Maybe they tasked him to befriend Tim to better their chances, and as he got older he felt worse and worse about it as him and Tim got closer. Finally, his parents other bs got too much for him, and he ran away, becoming a bakers apprentice in the kingdom of Metropolis

Kon is the son of Clark, head knight for King Lex Luthor of Metropolis. He meets Bernard because the baker had him do deliveries to the castle for him

But Tim finally gets through to Bernard, that he loves him for it.

AND THEN Bernard getting powers or life altering blessings from gods and not being able to tell Tim because he's supposed to be his comfort, his safe space. Tim doesn't need more stress...
