if you've ever used voltaren/diclofenac gel then you probably recognize the little rectangles haha. if you haven't, it's a topical medicine for pain that you apply with little dosing cards. i've been using it on my knee for years, and i liked having this visual of the huge stack of cards to show how long this pain has gone on.

this will be an ongoing work; i'll continue adding dosing cards onto it as i acquire them.

new painting! here comes a big wall of text describing some of my intent behind it, haha.

i wanted to continue playing with an idea that i'd done in a previous painting where i physically stitch onto the canvas. piercing the canvas over and over represents the violence that CRPS inflicts upon me. CRPS often feels like stabbing pins and needles, so i left the needle in the canvas to hopefully make the viewer more strongly understand that violent sensation. i chose to represent the pain as a scribble because CRPS pain is so intense that it can be almost impossible for my brain to really process. it makes my brain kind of fuzz out and i have to dissociate from my physical body to endure it. i felt that a scribble was a good way to symbolize that experience of my brain feeling jumbled and incoherent. the eyes being cast away is also intended to convey feeling distant and dissociated from myself and my surroundings.

Well, to put it shortly, we're a group of people trying to make a tool for simmers to use in order to avoid or just remain aware of any content put out into the community that may have use of AI in any way! (We're not sure if this blog will remain under this name, just an fyi)

How does it work?

You send us asks if you believe and/or have suspicions that a creator or user has made or is currently making use of AI for their content! (proof is appreciated, but we'll provide them in our posts, so no need to worry about that part!) When asks are sent, we make thorough research and respond with our finds to ensure we provide proper information. WE ARE HUMAN, meaning we are prone to mistake, so if you believe we may have poorly judged or missed something in our research, please let us know! We will make the edits or fixes necessary!

(asks can be sent anonymously, we understand you may not want to be put on the spotlight or traced down when bringing up certain creators).

Why are you doing this?

We believe simmers are allowed transparency for the content they consume or download now that generative AI has made its way into the community, whether that be from creators who are open about it, or trying to pass it swiftly without notice. GenAI specifically holds a multitude of problems, but we'll keep it brief with these articles. We highly suggest doing your own further research. Nourish that brain a little! 💙

it's so heartbreaking that a popular person like lil Nas x can receive so little kindness for what happened to him, (he had a psychotic episode and ran through the Streets experiencing psychosis) and this lack of care and concern from people lies in the fact that he is a queer black man, AN OPENLY queer black man.

he was assaulted by police for rightfully defending himself from them and mostly everyone online just joked about the situation. it's unfortunate that black queers can't do anything, including being vulnerable and mentally ill without facing ridicule, humiliation, and being physically harmed.

As much as I believe it’s important to not shame addicts or people experiencing an overdose, I think it’s also critical to check the biased assumption that black folks experiencing mental health crises are automatically also ODing.

I bring that up because his father said Lil Nas X had not OD’ed but instead had a psychotic break. While multiple new sources were calling this an overdose at the time of the break.

This assumption can lead to people not getting the actual support they need or even leave them fighting unfounded criminal charges just for being mentally ill and black.
