@hope-and-dream
hey kids following me seriously don’t smoke…i know the commercials are fucking annoying but that doesn’t make it worth it and quitting is hard, i haven’t had a cig in like six months and i still get bad cravings and think about smoking every other day
that includes vaping, ESPECIALLY cheap vapes you buy online from like e-bay. If you’re going to vape then get a good-quality one from a reputable source otherwise it can hurt you really badly. But don’t start a nicotine addiction if you don’t already have one. It’s really, really not worth it. I’m not going to use scare tactics or bash you or talk down to you if you already smoke or vape but it’s just some friendly advice.
People are reblogging this with tags like “why would you have a nicotine addiction, idiots, its boring/only for edgy points, smoke weed instead” and that just so utterly misses the point of my post…I didn’t start smoking for “edgy points”, I started because I grew up around a family that smokes, I was stressed as hell, and just that first cig made me feel better in the moment.
I get what you’re trying to say but you have to understand that there are kids who grow up on tobacco, there are kids who don’t know how else to cope, there are kids who think it’s a small way to rebel against someone who hasn’t treated them fairly. Most of these kids are in poverty or are seriously struggling. It’s not fair to label them as nothing but attention seeking morons.
This falls into the category of “making kids feel like shit for smoking” which you shouldn’t do. It only breeds resentment and kids don’t deserve to feel that way.
i just saw a fb post where a man was arguing with a woman about the best way to make macarons and he kept insisting that she was wrong, and then eventually he was like “I’ve never personally made macarons, but if you think about it what I’m saying makes sense, i’m simply stating the obvious. i’m sure there are plenty of youtube tutorials that would show you the same thing.” and the woman replied by linking him to her instagram business page and she makes fuckin macaron towers for parties for a living and i’ve been laughing about it for a solid 5 minutes.
Men automatically assume they’re more of an expert on something than any woman on account of their dicks. I’ve never met such an ignorant and narcissistic creature as a male
I’ll never forget a time when a fb friend of mine posted that she’s on her way to hospital to give birth. Women commented with “good luck” and other encouraging messages. A man’s comment was advice on how to give birth.
You have got to be kidding me
So I was talking about Jekyll & Hyde (the book) at a writer’s museum while we were looking at an Robert Louis Stevenson exhibit. I was giving my take on Jekyll, and my brother tried to counter it. I countered back easily, and then he said “well I’ve never read the book”
My dude………..stop
my ex, whose baking experience was pretty much limited to frying premade biscuit dough in boy scouts to make ‘donuts’, would constantly try to correct me or give me advice on baking
i’m a fucking pastry chef
met a dude at a party who was talking about physics and asked if i’d ever listened to any online physics lectures bc he listened to all of this one series and they were so helpful and maybe i could learn some physics too
i have a degree in physics
and am a published coauthor in astrophysics
the best part is that the woman who invented the term ‘mansplaining’ (her name is Rebecca Solnit and i highly recommend her collection of essays) came up with it when she was at a party one night and a man tried to explain a book to her, and wouldn’t let her speak long enough for her to tell him that
she wrote the bloody book he was mansplaining to her
You know I have plenty examples of this but that last one takes the cake so imma just let it be.

One of my students wrote a very eloquent and well-researched paper for her english class about the unfair advantages and lack of accountability given to student athletes, and she specifically called out how much worse it is with football and basketball, and bruh. People are getting heated over this shit. She spoke nothing but the truth, and the football and basketball teams are PISSED — coaching staff included. Like she legit created a little controversy at our school by calling out the fact that athletics are prioritized over academics. WITH SOURCES.
And what’s funny is she played it smart — not only by giving herself some plausible deniability by writing it about high schools and colleges in general rather than just about our school, but also by calling out the worst sports specifically. She could have left it at ALL student athletes, but by explicitly stating that football and basketball are the worst perpetrators, she won all the other athletes to her side — golf, tennis, swimming, track. Instead of having all student athletes at her throat, she turned everyone against the basketball and football teams.
I’m so proud of her. Nobody listens to teachers when we bring up that half the football team is failing all their classes, but let a fellow student bring it up and everyone’s ready to riot.
I can’t stress to you how fucking important it is to tell your child you’re proud of them TO THEIR FACE. Don’t fucking wait until the moment they go into hysterics. Don’t wait until they tell you that they don’t think you’re proud of them. FUCKING TELL THEM EVERY DAY. Even if it’s something you don’t understand, and they’re BEAMING, you fucking tell that child you’re proud of them. Don’t wait until it’s too late.
Don’t say it when they’re not there either! Strangers don’t care as much as your kid does!!!
we’re in hell and it’s only going to get worse.
The bill also requires ectopic pregnancies to be re-implanted in the uterus—a medical procedure that doesn’t exist.
Jesus Christ
So:
This bill effectively bans all forms of birth control except condoms, other barrier methods, and the rhythm method/pull out method. No more pills, IUDs, emergency contraceptives, nothing. No tubal ligations, so women won’t even be able to sterilize themselves anymore in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
It also forces women to undergo an invasive, unnecessary procedure in order to symbolically make pro-lifers….feel better? I guess. Removing an ectopic pregnancy and then placing it in the uterus so she can then expel it is completely illogical. Dislodgment of this NONVIABLE pregnancy destroys the placental connections that have formed, effectively removing the blood supply from the embryo entirely. So even if you wanted to believe it was remotely possible for a removed ectopic pregnancy to be reimplanted into the uterus (which it isn’t), you’re effectively going to be implanting an embryo that is guaranteed to have an anoxic brain injury, at the very least, and this will most likely be occurring at the most critical time in neuro development (the first trimester) for that embryo so what exactly are we expecting to be the outcome should this pro-life fantasy even be possible? Severely brain damaged, congenitally malformed, most likely nonviable babies that the mom then has to watch die after giving birth to. Nice.
You’d literally be cutting someone open to remove dying tissue and then invasively insert that dead tissue somewhere else increasing the chance of infection and other complications.
You can treat ectopic pregnancies that have not ruptured MEDICALLY, with MEDICINE. Avoiding invasive surgery is the standard of care across this entire country. Requiring that doctors perform an invasive and unnecessary procedure instead of giving one to two pills to perform another invasive procedure that has no realistic purpose other than to make men feel better is completely unethical and puts doctors in an impossible position? Sacrifice patient safety and care or lose the license you spent at least 11 years working for, go to jail, and have no way to pay back your 6 figure loan debt?
And, finally, how would doctors reimplant this fetus (assuming it’s possible, which it isn’t)? Would they cut open the uterus and put it in there so she can miscarry “naturally”? Doing so would put her at an increased risk of placenta accreta/percreta, uterine rupture with future pregnancies, and pretty much require any future deliveries to take place via c-section which is major abdominal surgery and carries all of the risks that a surgery like that entails. Cutting the uterus open in the first trimester would require a “classical” c-section cut which puts a woman at all of the risks I stated above.
Would they insert it through the cervix? Doing so would require dilation of the cervix with laminaria and put her at risk of ectopic pregnancy on the cervix in the future.
Look. Even if I supported this law, these are legitimate questions and they should be addressed before legislation like this even makes it to the floor. Physicians and other providers MUST be consulted when crafting legislation that affects medical care. This law is telling doctors it is now illegal for them to offer the gold standard for care for treating ectopic pregnancies or providing the most reliable options for birth control available and is REQUIRING them to endanger patients so a bunch of old white guys who hate women and don’t understand biology can feel more powerful by reducing women back to brood mares.
Physicians should not and cannot be used to enforce state-sanctioned or federal laws like this. These laws are not medically ethical and they are not morally ethical and they violate human rights on multiple fronts.
1) they expensive bruh 2) none of us kno the dif btwn a fucking diamond and some fancy ass glass ur capitalist rock hierarchy has no control over us
3) mostly mined with slave labor
4) we get excited when our date buys us an appetizer, we don’t even comprehend people buying us rocks that would force us into debt for ten years
5) They aren’t actually that rare and the price is artificially inflated.
Pro tip from a former Jared’s salesperson: You want a sparkly white rock that will look like a diamond to the untrained eye and will literally cost the price of a nice dinner for two? Created white sapphire. They’re lab grown and cost *pennies* to make, so you can get a 1 or 2 carat white sapphire for like… $30-80 probably. You can get one as huge as you like, perfectly clear, perfectly flawless. And no one will ever be able to tell the difference except a professional appraiser. Also, sapphires are the second-hardest gemstone (right after diamonds) so they are very durable! Very unlikely that they’ll chip or crack. Get that bitch set in sterling silver and you are GOOD TO GO. Whole thing should cost you less than $200 unless you get a fancy band with a lot of extra stones. Of course, created sapphires come in every color of the rainbow, so if you want something more exciting than plain white, you TOTALLY CAN.
Created sapphires and silver: The poor Millennial’s engagement ring.
THANK YOU EX-JARED’S BASED GOD.
engagement rings: HACKED
Get a ring from an antique store. They’re usually less than $100, you know they hold up over time, no one else will have one like it, and it comes with the bonus of being haunted by the spirit of some old woman named Edith probably.
This really a strong ass picture. Black women are super heroes!
I love everything about this, but might I ask. Why the FUCK is schooling so bad in America that a woman who just gave birth has to prepare for an exam tomorrow? @the American education system, bitch
I remember getting ready to fight a teacher because he kicked out a single mother who’s babysitter fell through. The baby wasn’t even crying. I got his ass fired.
I remember my friend taking her exam while her water was breaking, because her professor wouldn’t allow her to take the exam at a later date.
you know, maybe we shouldnt glorify this shit and start working on making it so that women can have fucking kids and not get fucked over by the system.
i was gonna say….this made me kinda sad lmao she should be resting. this isn’t “strong” it’s a sign of a failed system
It’d both, though, isn’t it? The system fails us and people should get to be mad about that at the same time as they feel proud of themselves for not letting that failed system beat them down. You shouldn’t have to stand up for yourself against the systems we built for ourselves, but being inhumanly strong in response is also, like, a huge fuck you to that situation.
not to be fake deep but like average poor kids deserve affordable higher education too lmao. we shouldn’t be expected to get a perfect ACT, work 40 hours a week, do another 20 hours of extra circulars, be on the honor roll, take only AP classes, have a 4.5 GPA just to have a CHANCE at being able to afford college. esp when avrage rich kids can go wherever the fuck they want with a subpar GPA and test scores.
Hope all the dicks who commented about how they don’t want average people in higher education read about this college admissions scandal. You have average rich kids getting into the most competitive colleges in the country through explicit bribery (not even gonna get into how many more are able to get in through more discret means and just simple classism in the admissions process) meanwhile qualified poor students often can’t even afford to go to college but yeah great meritocracy we got here.
it really be light outside until 7pm now, goodbye seasonal depression u dumb bitch
Not a single lie in sight……
Hello, college grad that actually wrote an award winning paper on this topic! Here’s some knowledge I’d like to share: There’s actually been studies as to why it’s usually white kids, a large conclusion amongst the criminology community is that those that often have more privileged lives (white kids in our society’s case) are less adept to dealing with stress and denial. Whereas minorities and others are more likely to cope and function normally despite stressors because of the constant stressors that come from systematic racism and/or other platforms of more limited priviledge.
TL;DR: It’s usually a white kid because their privilege incacipated their ability to learn how to handle stress/ denial/ whatever without acting out. The less privileged are done used to the bs and thus typically dont turn to extreme measures as coping mechanisms.
white kids boys
The majority of shooters are white, male, and have a history of violence against women. We cannot ignore gender when discussing this issue.
^^^ harkens back to white *male* privilege, the most privileged demographic of our society
You don’t realise how bad some people’s vibes are until they’re not around and you feel free
my anxiety: if I do not Produce and Achieve I will Die
my depression:
i dont get offended at white people jokes even though im white because:
i can recognize white people as a whole have systemically oppressed POC in america, which is where i live
most people when they make white people jokes only mean the shitty white people and i am not a shitty white person
im not a pissbaby
my white friends that have reblogged this give me life
4. Sometimes I am a shitty white person and the jokes remind me to FUCKIN STOP
If ur white and like this post I fux with u
^absolutely
5. It’s hard to be offended when white people jokes involve bland food/tourist dads in socks and sandals/white girls in yoga pants obsessed with pumpkin spice/suburban PTA moms and other harmless and mostly true stereotypes while jokes about POC involve them being called thugs/criminals/slurs/uneducated/illegal immigrants.
i fucks with u heavy if ur white and you reblog this
6. They’re usually really fucking funny and don’t perpetuate stereotypes that will ever affect me economically, politically, or cause me any true harm, let alone create risks that “justify” my murder and/or death
Waits for my white mutuals to reblog😌
yesyesyesyes
7. White people explored the world and found every place there were people. They left absolutely no hole unfucked. And then they wanna complain when they can’t use their expired coupons CAROL.
8. I am a white people and I don’t trust white people.
college is catered towards the able bodied and able minded. school applauds people who can stay up all night, skip meals, and work endlessly. that kind of extreme contribution is expected. why are disabled people being squeezed out of academic institutions? why should I feel inferior because of some arbitrary and ridiculous standard?
The undying truth.
Not to mention, every college campus Ive ever been on is MADE of stairs and hills.
i was ranting about ableism on twitter and. i realize a lot of people genuinely do not know this and dont mean harm. so please know this and cause less harm. you will make my life and the life of other autistic people just a little bit better.
hey this post has only gotten a few mean comments and it makes me really happy that so many people want to learn and understand and be kind, thanks for giving this cynical old autistic a lil more faith in humanity <3
