"kill them with kindness" FALSE! task manager🧮
i feel like when you finish radiant dawn for the first time and see that ike’s ending involves him leaving behind tellius and all but one of his companions it seems kind of unsatisfying and out-of-character for him, but as you replay both games and repeatedly witness the gradual decline of his patience towards everything it starts becoming a lot more understandable
I'd like to add that Ike's ending is probably only seen as out there because it differs from the standard fantasy hero epilogues that other FE lords get, i.e. marriage/kids/ruling a territory.
Meanwhile, if you a) stop comparing Ike to characters of noble birth and b) start thinking outside of a heteronormative framework, the pieces of the puzzle (the literal text in the games) fit way better.
Ike only ever wanted to live true to his family and his sword, but circumstances beyond his control saddled him with so much responsibility at a young age.
So, once he finally sees peace return to the land/his family settled, Ike fucks off to live the simple life he always wanted. Something he already tried between games, mind you, though this time for good.
I’m going on a bit of a tangent here, but I love how Tellius doesn’t treat becoming nobility or royalty as some kind of grand reward.
At the end of PoR, Ike is rewarded with a title, but he quickly realizes that dealing with Crimea’s nobles is a pain in the ass, so he bails. Elincia becomes queen, and in Part 2 of RD we see that it’s a thankless position where her personal desires can’t outweigh her responsibility to the kingdom (and she passes that test with flying colors — my queen).
Personally, I love when a story portrays positions of power as a burden. That’s why, when in some games becoming royalty is treated as the player’s ultimate reward, I find it pretty meh.

" Why don't you give it a try? "
I truly sacrificed to create this ridiculous mug. biting clay is a bad sensory experience 😔 who would have guessed
I’m tempted not to glaze the bite marks so it looks like it was bitten through the glaze lmao
fire emblem mod that changes the player phase animation to say “FUCK AROUND” and the enemy phase one to say “FIND OUT”. is this anything
This is why I like the newer games showing you everybody who could attack you if you move to a square.
Who are your favourite characters in Echoes?
somehow i really like mae (i say somehow because she's not the kind of character i'd usually love).
i also really like goody two shoes character so lukas, clive, forsyth and mathilda are right down my alley.
I got Nintendo Switch Online and access to FE Blazing Blade yahoo
