That whole yearbook thing is so dumb, by the way.
If Supercorp is on that do not reveal list then it just further proves that it's queerbait if they're not endgame. Because if nothing romantic happens between them in the finale then reviewers should have permission to explicitly let us know so we don't get our hopes up one last time. Otherwise, there would be no reason for the them to be on that list (other than baiting).

On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, Texas’s new law, S.B. 8, went into effect. This law effectively bans abortion in the state AND asks private citizens to act as bounty hunters to “enforce” the law.
Then, in the dead of the night, the Supreme Court turned its back on 50 years of precedent, rendering Roe v. Wade effectively meaningless in Texas. The Supreme Court allowed Texas’s unconstitutional six week abortion ban to go into effect. Six weeks is before many people know that they’re pregnant.
This is an attack on human rights and Texas law sets a dangerous legal precedent and could clear a path for states to override people’s constitutional rights. If the courts let this bill stand we can expect to see similar bills introduced in states across the country.
Abortion is health care. Yet politicians are consistently attacking access to that care (even during a pandemic).
Tumblr, let's rally our voice and speak out against this ban.

ever think about how beauty and the beast was one big very intentional metaphor for gayness
christine what
howard ashman was a gay man and he was the composer & lyricist for batb. he finished it right before he died of AIDS, and it was dedicated to him. & alan menken who worked with him on the score said that the film was heavily influenced by his experiences/perspectives. he was already sick when he started work on it (which is why he had to be accommodated in that respect and write in new york, because he couldn’t be moved) and he knew he was going to die and that it would be his last work. honestly! there’s so much self-identification in it, biographers in a lot of the articles i’ve read (this one is good) talk a lot about how he had to conceal his gayness to pursue his career successfully. the entire movie is about like…people who are ostracized and isolated, and it’s all about belle showing the beast that he has humanity and he has worth and he’s not the image the townspeople project onto him. and his lyrics in almost every song! like: “it’s a pity and a sin, she doesn’t quite fit in” / “say a prayer, then we’re there at the drawbridge of a castle and there’s something truly terrible inside” / “grab your sword! grab your bow! praise the lord and here we go! we don’t like what we don’t understand. in fact it scares us” and for context this is all on the tail-end of the AIDS crisis when gay men everywhere are dying because nationally their health isn’t considered a priority, and ashman is about to be one of them…it’s so personal, there’s no way it isn’t imo!
An academic by the name of Sean Griffin talks about this in his book on Disney and queer theory, Tinkerbelles and Evil Queens. You’ve mentioned most of it here, but Griffin comments on something else worthy of note: the symbolism of the rose, which parallels impending death and oblivion. Wilting day by day, petal by petal, it mirrors the immune systems of those suffering from AIDS during the 1980s/early 90s. The Beast has a limited amount of time to find love and happiness or he will forever be entombed by his condition. Although he is revived by some magical force, he closes his eyes in death right as the last petal falls.
Griffin mentions the state of the castle’s west wing in conjunction with health decline. The painting of his former self is damaged by his own anger, embarrassment, shame, and loneliness.
Griffin quotes the academic Cynthia Erb, “The visual contrast made between the deteriorated form of the Beast and the painting of him as a beautiful young man possibly sets up a stereotypical opposition between ugliness and beauty … but in this context the ugliness/beauty dyad also supports a tension, crucial to the film’s AIDS allegory, between the issue of having health or not having it" (Erb qtd. in Griffin 134).
Griffin also mentions how “The Mob Song” serves as “a parallel to AIDS panic that many individuals, as well as religious and political groups, expressed during this press of the disease.”
Source: Tinkerbelles and Evil Queens, Sean Griffin.
If The Little Mermaid echoes the coming out process, familial discord, and first romantic pursuits of the gay man, Beauty and the Beast corresponds to his possible subsequent experiences. During the AIDS crisis, this concerned the fear of sickness and/or impending death.
Y’all are fucking idiots if you think a thousand year old fairy tale is a pro-gay message.
It’s not a thousand years old. It started with Madame Gabrielle-Suzanne de Villeneuve (1695-1755) though it has some parallels with The Brothers Grimm The Singing Springing Lark.
Still, obviously it far predates the birth of the gay rights movement and the AIDS epidemic. Y’all reaching like whoa lol.
im not talking about the original story i’m talking about disney’s adaptation and lyrics and narrative choices that are specific to it. y’all know that but you just had to come on my post and bore us all anyway.
ur right tho, historically speaking gays weren’t Out There in the big wide world in the 18th century…we actually all came into being simultaneously when ellen aired in 1994, before then we didn’t exist! good catch
I hate to tel you this but most fairy tales are absolutely about the issues of the day, and those issues have to do with bigotry of all kinds. So yes, the monster in the forest? Almost always a metaphor for the outsider. That witch in the woods? Almost always humans trying to distance themselves from caring for the elderly or women in general.
i love how people think that there’s like only one possible interpretation for any story. ofc you can’t deny the creator’s original purpose in mind but that doesn’t mean you can’t give it a different meaning for yourself. so even if howard ashman wasn’t gay or didn’t incorporate his own feelings/experiences into the movie, it could still very much be seen as a gay allegory. so many different kinds of people can relate, especially to stories like batb dealing with being ostracized and cast out and even violently attacked at times, and you don’t even have to be a cursed prince turned into a beast 🙃
Turns out all stories of oppression have some things in common. Namely oppression and oppressed peoples. And each of these groups can see themselves in the characters. Just as all cis het white men see themselves in the knight in shining armor or the Prince Charming. The difficulty is that this idealized version of themselves is not factual, while the oppression is made factual. What I mean to say is, an ideal doesn’t have to be lived up to, to exist. While oppression is an unfortunate fact that can always get worse and so must be discussed, analyzed, justified or fought. So who are the stories meant for?

Post *talks about how the LATE 80S, EARLY 90S ADAPTATION OF A FAIRY TALE has gay subtexts and EXPLICITLY CITES THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM while explaining them*
A small group of brain geniuses with the apparent reading comprehension of an remarkably illiterate potato: YOUR TELLING ME THAT LIKE– THIS FAIRY TALE, LIKE– IS LIKE– GAY OR SOMETHING?? GOD UR SO DUMB!! I AM SO SMART!! SMART SMART SMART!! UR DUMB, DUMB DUMB DUMB!! I AM SMART, I AM SO SMART!!
… Brilliant people…
Some people haven’t read the original Beauty and the Beast and it shows. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is really loosely based on the original story and could most certainly be very inspired by the 80s AIDS crisis.
Insider is creating a database to track queer representation in children's cartoons. I searched through it a bit and it's pretty cool. I wished it had some links to sources of confirmation to some of them and I'm not sure exactly how accurate it is, but it seems accurate enough at first glance. You can check it out yourself if you want.

not to be intrusive but did you get vaccinated? longer/heavier periods are a newly noted side effect. good luck
t. also becoming the joker
I got the 2nd shot yesterday and I’d already had my period for 8 days. I posted about how I felt sick on fb and a friend of mine said they got a 19 day period after 2nd shot. I am going to require a blood transfusion. RIP
Today in "Things they didn't bother telling us about vaginas".
https://www.thelily.com/can-the-vaccine-make-your-period-worse-these-women-say-yes/
No published studies have examined the effects of vaccines on menstrual cycles.
If you are experiencing strange menstrual symptoms after receiving a vaccine, I encourage you to participate in this research study.
I'm not out here saying don't get vaccinated, but I'm fucking sick of my body not being included and counted in medical research.
I didn't have any of these effects, but passing along for anyone who did.
don't just fill this out if your menstrual cycle changed. everyone who menstruates should fill it out. otherwise you get skewed results
Getting a large and unskewed sample size is key to any good scientific survey, so if you are a person who has, or has previously had, periods, you should fill this survey out and report your expiriences with the Covid-19 vaccine.
Just as an add on, other potential side effects that is being investigated is a shortened time between periods, increase in discharge, and increased fertility (despite use of birth control of you are in that kind of thing).
Just for all the fun things for you ladies to worry about.
There isn't evidence to prove any of it, but I think everyone should know.
Not just ladies anyone who menstruates! Hopefully we'll get some actual results about this....
Fair point sorry about that. Anyone who menstruates should know about this. I apologize for my prior verbage.
Watching Mare of Easttown
Even though this is a theory, I wouldn’t read unless you’ve watched the show.
My theory still remains that the ferret man matters, and Richard is the ferret man, and he’s also the actual killer. Also drugs are probably involved.
Yep
Lol guess we’ll find out in a week.

Let Disney Know
Hey everyone, So Dana just posted this on her Twitter;
“This has been said by many creators before but the idea’s still the same. If you want more Owl House let Disney know! Watch it on Disney+! Send physical letters bc they still read those for some reason! Have your own House Demon? Make them stare uncomfortably at ppl having lunch!”
I think this very much rings true. Watch it on Disney, watch it on Disney+, watch it legally and officially. Send letters. Let Disney know we want more seasons.
Look, I have alluded to the fact that I think the move with Season 3 on Disney’s part maybe a result of internal politics (pure conjecture on my part btw), but let’s not forget Disney is a corporation and their biggest concern first and foremost will be money. If anything will change Disney’s mind about lengthening Season 3 or giving us a Season 4, it will be showing them that they can make money from it.
Realistically, we have 1 full season to get Disney to extend Season 3 or give us a Season 4. If we as fans can show there is demand, then their is more chance it will happen.

I mean yeah I’m obviously desperate for Kara and Lena scenes and if this show doesn’t end with Supercorp it will feel like I’ve been stabbed in the heart....
But I’ll gladly accept Brainia and Alex and Kara’s sister dynamic for now
Can young Lena also just show up? It makes no sense but eh
I usually don’t like an episode without Lena Luthor...
But this episode has been cuuuuute
I love how the Supercorp fandom is literally dying for a simple "me too"...
ME TOO GUYS, ME TOO 😭
Hahaha I did accept that “me too” because I’m desperate
