Starsky and Hutch - Favourite moments
Me, scared shitless, on my way to the dentist: it's gonna be fine, just imagine you're being tortured
That particular degree/type of out-of-it -ness that leaves a character... tolerant of their current misery.
Their companions move and converse around them - maybe tending, maybe fretting, maybe simply growing fidgety and impatient. And they lie placid, taking one slightly-rasping breath after the next in its time, half-listening to conversations, watching the lengthening shadows crawl inch by inch across the floor.
No hurry.
i was scrolling through pinterest and i saw this dude that rlly looked like dink so i knew i had to draw him
this is me procrastinating on a full body full render commission kia if ur seeing this i’ll get on the grind later 🙂↕️
some of you didn’t spend roadtrips as a kid in the backseat gazing desolately out the window while drip-feeding yourself droplets from a water bottle and pretending you were a wounded knight being carted back from the scene of battle while bleeding furiously from your wounds. and brother does it show

Apollo 13 (1995)
During the flight Fred Haise developed a urinary tract infection and later kidney infections. These caused him to be in pain for most of the trip
(This is my favorite movie and I have no idea if anyone’s made gifs of this scene but if they have, I couldn’t find them, so I just sighed and said: Fine, I’ll do it myself…)
Just saw this movie finally, and this moment had me :D
In Papillon (1973) Louis breaks his ankle, and the wound has to be cauterized. Papi helps him through it.
Whump and angst ensues when William Tell is forced to aim a crossbow at his own son for the entertainment of their rich and powerful abductors, in Crossbow 1x01.
And some bonus gifs for the wonderful pay off to their season-long efforts to reunite in 1x20:
In the movie True Blood (1989), Ray is reunited with his estranged little brother Donny under dire circumstances, when Donnie is shot and has nowhere else to turn.
In Crossbow 2x03, Mathew is caught in a savage trap that spears him to a tree. William works to comfort his distressed son, and get him out of it.
No he is not okay.
when the character makes the most pathetic, heartbreaking sound after being disturbed - they got moved and it made their injury hurt, or maybe they're just so exhausted and they're trying to communicate "please let me rest" - yeah. yeah. more of that.
Emotional Walls Your Character Has Built (And What Might Finally Break Them)
(How your character defends their soft core and what could shatter it) Because protection becomes prison real fast.
✶ Sarcasm as armor. (Break it with someone who laughs gently, not mockingly.) ✶ Hyper-independence. (Break it with someone who shows up even when they’re told not to.) ✶ Stoicism. (Break it with a safe space to fall apart.) ✶ Flirting to avoid intimacy. (Break it with real vulnerability they didn’t see coming.) ✶ Ghosting everyone. (Break it with someone who won’t take silence as an answer.) ✶ Lying for convenience. (Break it with someone who sees through them but stays anyway.) ✶ Avoiding touch. (Break it with accidental, gentle contact that feels like home.) ✶ Oversharing meaningless things to hide real depth. (Break it with someone who asks the second question.) ✶ Overworking. (Break it with forced stillness and the terrifying sound of their own thoughts.) ✶ Pretending not to care. (Break it with a loss they can’t fake their way through.) ✶ Avoiding mirrors. (Break it with a quiet compliment that hits too hard.) ✶ Turning every conversation into a joke. (Break it with someone who doesn’t laugh.) ✶ Being everyone’s helper. (Break it when someone asks what they need, and waits for an answer.) ✶ Constantly saying “I’m fine.” (Break it when they finally scream that they’re not.) ✶ Running. Always running. (Break it with someone who doesn’t chase, but doesn’t leave, either.) ✶ Intellectualizing every feeling. (Break it with raw, messy emotion they can’t logic away.) ✶ Trying to be the strong one. (Break it when someone sees the weight they’re carrying, and offers to help.) ✶ Hiding behind success. (Break it when they succeed and still feel empty.) ✶ Avoiding conflict at all costs. (Break it when silence causes more pain than the truth.) ✶ Focusing on everyone else’s healing but their own. (Break it when they hit emotional burnout.)

Then Begins a Journey in My Head
unearthed my favorite whump diologue in the world now: talk to me.
when someone is terrified, calming them down by being gentle and cheerful, and then when they start to warm up to you, looking them in the eye and saying "talk to me. what's going on?"
"hey, hey, I thought you were getting better. talk to me, what hurts?" when an injured whumpee is deteriorating
an unexpected phone call raising the speaker to your ear and and opening with "talk to me" because they only call if it's an emergency
team stuck inside and the tech analysis over the line hears something in Leader's voice that screams something is wrong. "you're not telling me everything. talk to me."
I'M OBSESSED.
Do you actually ship them or do you want them to be trapped together in a cave-in where one of them is injured and they have to talk to keep them distracted and stay sane while they wait for help, and end up opening up about their vulnerabilities and bond and then grow desperate as one starts to slip from consciousness while the other begs them to stay awake—
