we are a median system that collectively goes by Hemlocke and uses they / it / oneself pronouns. bodily an adult (22!) so minors can interact at their own discretion, as we may post things that aren't catered towards those under eighteen. we're also alterhuman, identifying with red pandas, robots, angels, and a lot of xenogenders. we don't post much, but sometimes we draw and write so maybe all that will get posted someday.

their name is Ophie, named after the irl parasitic fungus ophiocordyceps unilateralis that candyceps is based on. theyre a silver deer that has been infected by the candyceps fungus, whose body has morphed to (somewhat) mimic a centaur-like cookie due to the candyceps's influence. they have no face because the fungus cant really "see" those features of a cookie (:

(i have a lot of thoughts all the time so see the asterisk/s after the cut for corresponding side thoughts) (i'll try to keep it relatively short)

i <3 that despite Ben and Esther being the main characters that most ppl focus on, Katherine is also just as much of a main character as her kids are. like i LOVE gravity falls, but i think that by Dipper and Mabel being the only two main characters, the show's relationship dynamics between more characters dont have as much prominence on the show's worldbuilding.* it makes sense cause it's a kid-oriented show, so im glad that haunted hotel has more of an adult element not only content-wise but also in the way of giving us as the audience an adult character to relate to that has the importance of a main character.

i also think the format of haunted hotel as a show does a great job of showing how the small cast of important characters interact with one another in a variety of ways. whether theyre experiencing a plotline as an individual character, as a pair of characters, or as a group of characters, every episode gives insight into how the characters interact and learn and grow from one another.**

i've rewatched this show to the point of me finding enjoyment in analyzing it,*** so if youre interested in hearing my thoughts feel free to send me a dm (or an ask if you prefer or are under 18, nothing against you thats just something i prefer) and i'll make sure to tag you on the analysis posts. also feel free to send me haunted hotel asks in general cause i have Thoughts™.

*the Grunkles dynamic definitely has a huge impact on the plot and theyre obviously still very important characters, but as the audience we dont get as much "these are the main characters to focus on" content with them as we do with Dipper and Mabel. obviously i still think that gravity falls did an amazing job telling a fulfilling story with how it was set up.

**i also enjoy how when the characters are grouped up to experience whatever plot, the groups experience plots that parallel each other in some way. (ex. both Katherine's honeymoon suite plot and Esther's rollyfluff plot involve how the respective characters handle being faced with a malevolent entity masquerading as friendly and / or harmless). it makes the split-pov episodes feel like they belong together regardless of how much or little the groups interact with one another.

***im in the process of analyzing the conflicts and motivations of the characters in every episode, so i WILL be posting abt it regardless of anyone else showing interest.

hi!! maybe you know me or maybe you don't. i'm an aging, disabled genderqueer who has been living in the pits of this hellspace for a while! i've shat posts, written poems, made music & videos too!

i have a book club, i've offered music commissions for a few years, & i recently made a bandcamp where my first album is up for sale.

i have been unable to work for a long time & have been surviving in a low income apartment with help from my mother & sisters support, my commission orders, selling plasma every week & pawning material possessions off on ebay to make rent & grocery money, that kind of thing. a recent stay in the hospital put a significant pause on these efforts & i am left in a very tight place right now with little help from assisted living services so far. (ty to everyone who has offered advice, links, numbers, it means a lot. i promise i am trying)

you might relate to living on that cusp of stability where you're a grown adult who is capable of taking care of themselves but who would sure as hell have a much, much easier time with someones help!! if worst comes to worst i will have no consistent place to stay, & while i'm prepared, i'd like to keep being here for as long as i can.

so since i've never made an outright asking-for-help post before without trying to give something in return, i'm doing that now.

K-Pop Demon Hunters should have been a series. There's so much in this universe to be explored! One big thing is the other 4 Saja Boys.

Lots of people want to know how Jinu put the group together. And I am one of them lol.

I'm loving all the headcanons coming out of that. I would love to see what the other 4 actually think of this whole plan. We get two tiny glimpses that paint an interesting picture:

In both these scenes their personas immediately drop.

Why?

Are they annoyed by having to act like a boyband? Is it against their demon nature?

Are they just exhausted from fan interactions? Fans can be a lot. Or are they just tired because Jinu made them sleep on the hard ground all night?

How on Earth did Jinu convince them to go along with this plan? And how did he convince them to keep up the act? What could he offer 4 demons to make sure they don't just leave?

There's a theory going around about the 4 of them being an idol group that wasn't successful. So they sold their souls to Gwi-ma (or Jinu maybe?) in exchange for fame. But then these two clips they look pretty fed up with the whole shtick.

I'm interested in hearing your thoughts/theories/headcanons etc!

Seeing as how they very visually do NOT enjoy interacting with fans (at least after the fact) is such an interesting insight that I so so wish got more screen time. Because why ARE they doing all that? What are their motives for performing so enthusiastically, when interacting with fans (both human and seemingly demon as well) drains them so heavily, or is just burdensome? Is that just the power of Gwi-Ma?? Maybe they're just tired from sleeping on the sidewalk all night lol

Personally, I find the idea that Jinu is the only one who doesn't know he's in a polycule really funny. Like the rest of the Saja Boys see him as the leader of the polycule, ready to go along with whatever he wants cause they're bored, and Jinu is just like "haha wow this pack of demons sure is loyal I wonder why that is. Anyway time for Plot™"

Also I VERY MUCH agree that kpdh should've been a series. There is SO MUCH I wanna know about the characters that just couldn't fit into a ~90 minute movie. There's also just,, so many times one can watch a movie in a day before they have the entire script memorized, ya know? Granted, every rewatch more details get noticed, which is AWESOME, but still 😔
