one time in college i had some kind of computer problem so i navigated an endless bureaucratic trail from desk to desk and person to person until i was told to go to a room and sit on a chair and wait for some guy, and eventually a short sweaty man in his 40s barrelled into the room and saw me on the chair and said to me "hang on a second, i gotta piss like a racehorse" and i felt instantly comfortable and happy to hand my computer over to this man. thats part of why its hard for me to be professional for any length of time, because i think so often about this man and the racehorse piss and how happy i was to hear him say that instead of "hello how can i help you." i do not remember if he fixed my computer.
Always worth re-sharing this.
We are all flawed, traumatized humans at the end of their rope.
Principles
1. We are all flawed, traumatized humans at the end of their rope. Many of our actions say more about the conditions we live under than who we are as people.
2. No one is disposable. No one is unsalvageable.
3. Life holds greater value than being right or comfortable. Hurt is preferable to death.
4. No one should be deprived of community.
5. Harm does not require further harm. Punishment does not equate protection or healing.

Is there a term for the various cultural ephemera people only bring up to have the same boring argument over and over again? E.G. Pineapple on pizza, is a hotdog a sandwich, tomato vegetable, etc.
The kind of boring pseudocontroversial statements people make to stir the pot in reddit threads, or at the lamest possible dinner conversations you've ever borne witness to.
Slash fiction : “Step towards me, Jim,” said Spock, reaching out gingerly, tentatively, his arm betraying all the depths of emotion forever hidden beneath that strong, calm voice, the path of his hand toward Kirk’s face, the graze of his fingers across the captain’s cheek, “you have a lash lying across your zygomatic bone.”
