Dead End had:

Trans representation

Women of color and men of color as main characters

Courtney

Homophobic, transphobic family that's accurate

Coming out scenes

Autistic and anxiety representation

Found family

Barney was Jewish and there were no jokes or problems with it

Talk about binders

Plus size representation without the jokes

It also had really good writing and directing and story. Also the art and animation was consistent and amazing and the colors were bright. It was funny and there were amazing songs sung by the characters.

This show was so unbelievably important.

Hijabi characters as part of the main cast

Straight characters being healthy and allies

Queer characters who talk to each other about their experiences

Well written and foreshadowed plot twists

Interesting discussion of idolisation and just coping when “your fav is actually problematic”

Discussion and criticism of corporate crime (such as overworking staff etc)

Unique artstyle and interesting character designs (including horrific biblical angels)

Great worldbuilding and take on the angels/demons trope

Amazing songs

Dog with terrifying amount of demonic/divine power

Netflix apparently doesn’t like well written shows. Netflix wants to kill everyone slowly with the 7th season of riverdale. Streaming services really just look for the best and most passionate shows and say “Nonono this one is too good, people do not deserve actually good and well made content”
