autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. đâđ
Isn't it kind of fucked up that Truth and Reconciliation Day (yesterday, September 30th), which is supposed to be a day to honor the indigenous population of Canada and also to mourn those who lost their lives at the hands of the government (particularly all the children who were treated horribly in residential schools) is just... a day off for government workers? Workers of the government that hurt indigenous people the most? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we finally have an official holiday, but why should government workers essentially just get another day off while everyone else works?
love that these are both in a different language but i can still tell exactly what the joke is
nobody:
me at midnight on august 1st:
According to my brother, the camera operators are told in advance when they're going to be cut to or at least given a heads-up, so this guy assumed he was safe to use his camera basically as a pair of binoculars bc he wasn't supposed to get the focus. But the person who was switching between camera feeds accidentally cut to his camera by mistake instead of the one that was supposed to be filming, so they ended up televising what was supposed to me one man's private cockroach observation moment.

Disneyâs revenues fell 23% to $14.7 billion, while the company reported a loss of $710 million instead of the $777 million in profits it recorded in the year-ago period.
My heart fucking bleeds. Get out of here with your sob story, Disney.
Cheers hoe.

My God they may have to get comfort plus on their private jets
humans literally evolved to have a heightened sense of taste in childhood because smaller bodies are more sensitive to poison and adults are just like ânah kids are Picky Eatersâą specifically to annoy meâ
Also certain neurodivergencies can cause kids to be sensitive to certain foods and tastes and textures. That also isnât just to annoy their parents. We literally canât help it. If your kid freaks out at certain food, donât force them to stay at the table until they finish it every night. Just give them different foods. Kids are not bad. They deserve to eat food they like that doesnât make them sick. Be kind.
Telling kids their taste buds will change as they grow is a game changer. Iâve known many kids who were yelled at so much for being a picky eater that they dug in their heels, refused to eat certain foods, and never retried them even when they were adults. But explaining how child taste buds are different in an âisnât that interesting!â way will get the kids into it
Explain the science of taste buds to children, tell them itâs okay they donât like certain tastes because it means their body is trying to keep them safe, and tell them they might want to retry foods throughout their life because theyâll taste different as they age. Every single time Iâve done this the child has been excited to retry foods as they grow
All kids are scientists. If you tell them itâs okay to experiment with food theyâll be eager to do itÂ
Some foods will also just scare them off because theyâre different every time you try them so itâs like a Russian roulette but for your taste buds, and I feel like a lot of parents seem to forget that.
Also undiagnosed allergies and especially intolerances are a thing.
I almost never ate fruit as a kid. Turns out I canât digest most local fruits unless I take antihistamines first, but I only discovered that as an adult, so I was called picky as a kid because I preferred sugary snacks that donât make me nauseous over healthy fruits that do.

I saw this on Tiktok and thought it needed to be passed on. Pololƫ Valley is sacred land currently at risk of being developed into yet another "scenic tourist attraction" for profit. Activists like @/melemaikalanimakalapua on Tiktok are fighting to have this petition seen by as many people as possible in order to prevent the senseless destruction of this land.
Note that the petition says not to donate to change.org--donations to change.org do NOT protect Pololƫ Valley.
I hope that by spreading this to tumblr, I can help it reach more people. Please sign this and reblog it if you can!
