Although the interior design isn’t chic or anything but I’m liking this old school vibe with a touch of modern🍗🍚 · 📍Uncle Lee Cafe, Richmond District. 샌프란시스코. · I’ve heard that Uncle Lee was as close as it gets to hk... I had to try it for myself 🤷🏻‍♀️ iono about that. It’s decent but I wouldn’t say it’s so so good, but maybe I chose the wrong items? I had the hand shredded chicken, beef fried rice, hai-nan chicken, garlic string beans, and the cart noodles. The hand shredded noodle was absolutely delicious! The chicken was soft and juicy with the cilantro and a hint of sesame oil, it made an appetizing and fresh starter. The beef fried rice was okay but rice is a little wet, too much soy sauce and too salty. The garlic string bean was too soggy, could be drier to get that crunch. Khamsa-hab-ni-da 감사합니다 🙇🏻‍♀️ @geegeeonfb for the Moroccan dinner and creamy dessert! 🇲🇦🍖🍗🍦 · 📍Khamsa, mission. 샌프란시스코. · This Moroccan restaurant was quite delicious, here we have the Chiflor: cauliflower in creme fraiche sauce. Very interesting combo but I would eat it again. We also have the Tanjia: slow cooked Lamb, Duck Tanjine: marinated in house blend sauce and the Zaalouk: puréed egglants that came with a really warm-fluffy pita bread. I personally like the tanjia more because it was more savory while the duck tangine was a bit more on the sweet side, but I loved the sweet Turkish apricot that came with it. It’s a really cute little place with delicious food, however when I say little I mean small so it’s a bit cramped inside and you sit very closely to other tables. Feeling a bit crabby since I haven’t been on vacation for too long. 😭 Planning a trip for March... 🇰🇷? 🇹🇼? · 📍Z&Y Restaurant, Chinatown. 샌프란시스코. · Everything here was absolutely delicious! Mainly the Crispy Garlic Crab and the Dong Bo Pork Shoulder. 🤤🤤 the Garlic crab was soo delicious with the right flavorings but the shell was lightly fried and the batter was perfectly crunchy. The pork shoulder was like so smooth and silky. It’s a bit salty but traditionally it’s made that way because in our history meat was expensive so you’re suppose to make it saltier to go with rice. The skin of the pork is so silky smooth you can slurp it like jello and the meat is very tender and soft. The cucumber pork roll is really refreshing. It’s a thin slice of pork belly rolled together with a thin slice of cucumber. The cold noodle was actually really interesting and yummy @ravenousfork said it tasted like spaghetti 🤣 but I think it’s a little more like tan tan Mian with a bit of peanut butter taste. If you like spicy food this is a good choice but they also have non spicy food that is good like the walnut prawn. We also had the mini octopus flaming pot, couples delight (spicy beef tendon) and Garlic steamed Nappa cabbage. 👍🏻 Thank You @zandyrestaurant for having us and serving such delicious food to the community. I think you need to spice things up with some noods 😏🔥🍜 · 📍Taishoken Ramen, San Mateo. · Finally got to eat with @rachel_go_eat as we both have complicated schedules. 🥰 All I can really say is this is another “hyped” up ramen place. We went at 4:30 waited in line to be put on waitlist when they open at 5 got back by like 5:30 and seated around 5:45 so we waited pretty much a little over an hour. (YES THE LINE IS RIDICULOUS) The dipping ramen was good but it wasn’t like 💥”BAM” good however it is my personal opinion. Also the noodles for the dipping ramen was more like a soba/udon fusion than ramen. (It’s the one in the back) The dipping sauce has a zesty flavor to it so it feels a bit refreshing and not as heavy. The spicy ramen though... 🤷🏻‍♀️ noodles were good but where the spice at? It literally wasn’t even a little spicy. Like @rachel_go_eat said it’s a little bit like tomato sauce... The mazesoba was definitely not something for me, very fishy and it tasted like some Chinese noodles I have instead. The flavors of the broths here were just all not something for me, there wasn’t much or anything special about it for me. I’ve had better broth and ramen overall. I don’t think it’s worth the hype, but try it be your own judge and tell me what you think. Have you tried it already?
