Mozart’s sigh filled the room. Why was he suddenly so reluctant to work on his composition? A light breeze flowed through the cracked door from the balcony. He stood in an attempt to shut it, but paused when he heard a sound come from below. He walked out and took a look, he saw you surrounded by the fall leaves on the ground. You were holding a rake, glancing around with a troubled expression. The scene was comical, so much so Mozart found himself breaking a smile. He straightened his face then called to you, “what are you doing down there?” Your head shot up, shaking you from your thoughts.
“Sebastian asked me to clean up the garden, this past week all the leaves fell.”
“Sounds like boring work, good luck.” He turned his back to you, about to go inside.
“Are you on a break?” He thought for a moment before answering.
“I guess you could call it that.”
“Come down here, I think I know a way to make this a little more fun.” He stared at you quizzically. What could be fun about watching you do chores? He didn’t respond, just turned and went inside. A few minutes later he appeared in the garden. To his surprise you were almost finished raking the leaves into one large pile.
“I honestly expected you to take longer doing this.” You gave him a large goofy grin.
“About?” You extended your hand to him.
“You’ll see.” He hesitated then took your offer. He was never much for touching others, or others touching him for that matter. Somehow he couldn’t refuse you. He also couldn’t help but think you were odd. Although you offered him your hand, you were the one blushing when your eyes met. As if to knock yourself out of it you shook your head and giggled.
“Ready?” The only answer you got was a slight raise of the eyebrows. “JUMP!” Without giving him a chance to react you lept into the pile of leaves, dragging Mozart along with you.
“Ahh-” he caught himself with his left hand, his right still intertwined with yours. Mozart’s violet eyes were all you could see, he was visibly startled. He was on top of you frozen in place, you were unable to do anything but stare at eachother. After a moment Mozart stood up haughtily, brushing any dirt off him. “Can you tell me what on earths wrong with you?!” He sounded so angry, it sent you into a fit of laughter.
“You should see your expression!” He crossed his arms defensively and wrinkled up his nose.
“Well who’s fault is that?” You still laid in the pile of leaves, the breeze lightly blowing through your hair. You looked like an adverage simple girl in that moment and it was simply beautiful to him. That’s when you spoke up in the most nostalgic tone of voice Mozart had ever heard you use.
“I missed this.” Silence passed between the two of you before you went on. “When I was a kid my brother and I would play outside all the time, during the fall we’d do silly things like this. It reminds me of my past. It’s a nice feeling.” He sighed. Although it was the last thing you expected him to do, he laid back down with you. Staring up at the clear skies above. You turned your head, astonished.
“The weathers nice out, I don’t see the problem in enjoying it.” You smirked knowingly.
“Don’t tell me you actually like having my company around?”
“Really, what’s wrong with you? Did you hit your head? I just told you the reason.”
“Alright, alright. I was just kidding.” You followed his gaze to the sky. Trying to keep the expression on your face under control. You decided the last thing you needed was more of his sassing.
