I was wondering if any characters from the last hours will be mentioned throughout TWP? We got some snippets of it in sobh but Iāve always wondered if the Blackthorns being descendants of Lucie and Jesse would ever be addressed considering Tessa and Jem see a lot of Jesse in Tyš and also with lucieās whole necromancy plotā¦ will Kit and Ty ever find out about that?
They get some mentions, including Lucie's power over the dead, mentions of Christopher, James' gun, etc.
I did the math once and Tessa potentially has between seven and eight hundred descendants total, about four hundred to four-fifty alive today, and is related to between 50 and 100 different families with different surnames. Yikes.
WTF?!?! When did Tessa get so many descendants?? šš
some of you donāt remember the scene in lady midnight when cristina just like. watches mark and kieran make out. and is basically like ānot to be voyeuristic but oh my god. holy shit. i want to get in on thatā and then she does, and it really shows
Re-reading Lady Midnight and Iām still gagged at how creepy it is as a book. Cutting off the hands of killers and displaying them on a candelabra? And the entire ālotteryā system where people are assigned to be killers? Masterful.

I think that TSC has always had a strong horror element to it. CC just chooses when to turn up the dial. Opening city of heavenly fire with the LA institute getting attacked by the endarkened was certainly inspired. The way the circle tortures the little werewolf girl in the bane chronicles has always stuck with me. The Whitelaws getting wiped out was also crazy. In forever fallen, the pov switch from Janus to Jem was jarring. And don't even get me started on Livvy's death

I said this in the tags of a different but loosely related post-- I think the tone of the narration is what makes the reader not focus on the horror of it all. TSC books have always dealt with really dark themes, even all the way back in TMI, but because the tone of the story is otherwise on the lighter side, you don't think of them as horror elements, even though upon a closer look, that's exactly what they are.
In other words, the tone of the narration softens these elements in the grand scheme of things, but if you're really reading you can see that they are there. In a way, that is what makes them appropriate for a YA audience without taking away from the complexity, severity, and maturity of the themes, elements, and situations it deals with (like all of the ones mentioned in the previous reblog).
It makes the story all that more appealing and really shows the versatility of cc's writing and the universe itself, I think.

Hey, Cassie! How You feel about Sylvain and James being jokes? Do they really look alike that much? And what is James and the others reactions to that?
Unless I am absolutely insane and forgetting something, Sylvain doesn't look particularly like James other than having dark hair, which is the hair color of 90% of the global population according to Google. I talked here a little about how Matthew's friends and family have reacted to him but they don't react to him looking like James because he doesn't particularly. I think there's a brief moment where Sylvain being kind reminds him of James being kind but it is not weird to value the same good attributes (kindness, generosity) in a friend as you do in a romantic partner.
I mean, if you want to think Sylvain reminds Matthew of James and that that is significant, go ahead! You own your reading!

i know the shadowhunters chronicles is like a million books long and itās hard to remember some things but some of yāall need to do some light googling at least before you get online and get mad about certain plotlines. or just ask because 9 times out of 10 the explanation is right there in the books
iāll give the benefit of the doubt and say mostly it just got forgotten because of the need to focus on the thousand other things that have happened in this series because like i said itās a lot
but also sometimes i think we need to think a little bit more because iāve seen some people get mad at characters for doing things they didnt even do and situations that didnāt even occur. and maybe if we just questioned why those things donāt make sense for a bit we wouldāve figured out itās because it didnāt even happen like that
