You ever write something and you think, “I’ve used this exact sentence structure/phrasing/convention approximately eight million times before but goddammit I’m going to do it again?”
That’s about where I’m at right now.
If artists are allowed to have a signature style, then so am I, motherfucker.
“By the time this song is over, one of us will have betrayed the other.”
there’s a quarantine going on… no pressure but i KNOW ya’ll have WIPs
When you’re writing as fast as you can type at three a.m. because you’ve been hit with Writing Inspiration™ after a month of staring at the lone word “The” on your doc:
Don’t talk to me or my 46 daydream alternate universes again
Y'know, I’m really loving the return to a “tropes are good” mindset. Embrace the cliché. Use the overused. If it makes you feel good to read and write, don’t stress if it’s not completely original. It’s so much more fun to not agonize over having to make every aspect of a piece revolutionary
Just because a story is predictable, it doesn’t mean it’s not a good story.

Yoongi really said in 2020 you all will be my bitch and my bitch only, huh
I hope in 2020 you get to write that thing you’ve been wanting to write, and you write it amazingly.
i made a meme to express how i feel right now
this is the most accurate thing ive ever seen
i don’t think people really get how little feedback fanfic authors actually get? like the effort to reaction ratio is so abysmally skewed here that a fic nearly 50,000 words long takes an entire year to amass like. 16 comments. someone reblogged a fic i wrote at 4 am and tagged it with a 5-word compliment and i can’t stop thinking about it, not because it was so nice but because half the time you post a fic you’re going to hear nothing and anything feels like so much
fandom culture is so, so good about giving artists the credit they’re due, but we gotta start doing that for writers too. you’ve got no idea how much people put into their stories and get maybe a handful of reblogs and a dozen-odd kudos. that’s not enough. writing is an endurance sport and y’all need to start giving fic writers a reason to endure it and improve their craft. encourage writers like you encourage artists. reblog fics, leave tags, leave comments, acknowledge that these stories do not just spring into being for your entertainment.
every single damn writer i know feels like half of their readers see them as a machine. that’s gotta change.
