Hey Alex, I have a bit of a strange request. I turn 18 in a few months and I've had an idea for the tattoo I want to get several years. I'm planning on getting "It's real for us" on my wrist. I want trying to decide what font to get it in and I thought it would be cool to get it in the handwriting of someone who means a lot to me. You immediately came to mind. Whenever I feel like crap the one thing that makes me feel less like crap is listening to your music. (to be continued in part 2...)
Oh wow. I would be honored! I will write it out a few ways for you. Maybe you can email me at [email protected] and I can send you back some pictures of the writing?
wHAT?? My album comes out in one week???? Pre-order it here!

Introducing our latest campaign… VADHEDA.
Many of you may be familiar with the popular YouTube trend of vlogging every day in April (VEDA). Hank Green himself is a regular participant of VEDA, but this year, we’re giving Hank a special focus for VEDA and requesting that he vlog his anthemic masterpiece, “Accio Deathly Hallows,” every day of the month of April.
It is a song that speaks to the enduring power of literature, our cultural need for story, and the magic that resides in our own hearts. Some say that this song – with its overt calls to magically spread books throughout the world – may have even inspired our Accio Books! Campaign, an annual event where fans have come together to donate over 100,000 books to underprivileged readers.
It’s an important song in the canon of popular culture: so important that it merited four different inclusions on Hank Green’s debut album, So Jokes (2008). And since that precipitous debut, Hank has performed the song in many different incarnations, each one independently gratifying, yet collectively failing to satiate the core needs of the Nerdfighting community: the need for an entire month to be dedicated to this singular musical triumph.
It is time.
Time for Hank Green to Vlog Accio Deathly Hallows Every Day in April.
When Hank sings “I wish it didn’t have to end at all,” he’s not merely referencing the end of the book series. He is challenging our culture’s notion of finality with regard to story. Hank understand that these books don’t end when the metaphorical curtains close. No, these stories are only just beginning. They are ours to continue and ours to live.
If you believe in the power of song, of story, of community, of humanity, please sign this petition asking Hank Green to Vlog Accio Deathly Hallows Every Day In April. Together, we can make a difference.
Do it Hank. Hank, do it. Hank hank hank. Will you do it please? Do it do it do it do it do it.
Don’t let the 15 minutes it took me to make that graphic go to waste.
Paul has finally brought the HPA to bear on the real problem. Not enough versions of Accio Deathly Hallows.
I have to say that the single most important lesson I learned in 25 years talking every single day to people was that there is a common denominator in our human experience. Most of us, I tell ya, we don’t want to be divided. What we want—the common denominator that I found in every single interview—is that we want to be validated. We want to be understood.
I’ve done over 35,000 interviews in my career, and as soon as that camera shuts off everyone always turns to me and inevitably in their own way ask this question: “was that ok?”
I heard it from President Bush. I heard it from President Obama. I’ve heard it from heroes and from housewives. I’ve heard it from victims and perpetrators of crime. I even heard it from BE-YON-CÉ in all of her Beyoncé-ness. She finishes performing, hands me the microphone, and says “was that ok?” [x]
Super interesting and cool to think about.
Hey, what’s Winnie the pooh’s favorite color?
Yellow
No it’s red because of his shirt
No, it’s yellow because he loves honey
You have no idea what you’re talking about
