Well I don't really know what to put here but a rundown:
I'm Brianna, or ink occuli, or ink, occuli, Occ, and I use she/they pronouns. graduated from Emily Carr university of art and design with a bachelor's of design, majoring on communication design. Regretted not majoring in illustration, but that was an expensive mistake that I just have to work with.

Circlet of Waves Linocut process
hey I forgot I had a tumblr again. Sorry I was in school learning to be a teacher and got fucked over, so my artistic process is back in action since I have to wait till next year to finish the program.
So I have sourced a (Canadian!) art store that sells artist lino by the foot so I am making a large print on some tea towels. I got the digital rough and the printed out mockup set (the mock-up let me see that the circlet was too big so I made a smaller centrepiece as seen in the second photo), and just waiting for the lino to be delivered so I can start transferring the design.
Does anyone have suggestions other than carbon paper transferring via tracing to get the design onto the lino so I can carve it? Carbon paper is so tedious when my design is 20x29 inches big

hi I am looking for a Voltron fanfic that is allura/pidge where allura appears in Pidge's dream after pidge and Shiro meet a spirit white lion in the desert. There's a fair where they all cosplay and Pidge's mom has control over plants? And Pidge gets turned Altean. I suddenly remembered about it today and was looking to see if I remembered it properly and I can't seem to find it. Is it deleted?

I'm not sure if it was a one shot or a multi chapter

Bell (hero name still unknown, last name still unknown) is my spidersona based on the diving bell spider. Rising ocean levels led to cities that are at least partially submerged so an aquatic spider-person was necessary.
I do plan on fleshing their earth out a bit more, after I make one of their civilian outfits.
Making a spidersona based on the diving bell spider! She uses her webs to create a bubble "backpack" that she can feed into her mandibles, basically her scuba like mask!
She also likes to use her webbing to anchor herself in the water, to create flippers and webbing between her fingers so she can swim faster, and to do sudden turns.
What should I name her? Is there already an official spiderperson that is aquatic? I don't actually know much about spiderman canon... I watched into the spiderverse many times but not much else (haven't gotten a chance to watch the new one yet either!) So if anyone has any cool info I can use in her backstory, please tell me!
changed up the pose, and got them a first name! They go by Bell, but I still don't know their hero name .

ginger dragon linocut print process
while I wait to get back to the print studio to finish my Selkie print, I have started the drawing of my next class project, which is this lovely ginger dragon. The dragon is coloured in to help me visualize the seperation between it and the ginger root, since the dragon will have a colour treatment
My idea on how I am going to blend inks for this piece... the linocut will be separated into 5 pieces. The dragon head, tail, and torse, as well as the ginger (including the little bit on the left)
forgot to take more photos, but I am almost done the cutting for the test proof printing on Tuesday! I am a bit worried I over cut and haven't left a lot of surface for ink, but we will see.
I will update this on Tuesday or Wednesday
Some proofs of the ginger dragon! The one on the paler paper (and the solo one on the right image) was hand printed using a brayer and a spoon to transfer the ink on to rice paper. It was definitely an arm workout!
on the image with the three proofs, the top one was the second proof, and the one on the right was the third and most current proof.
I am a bit scared for the next proof, I had to cut it apart into seperate sections and some of the parts didn't fit back together easily so I had to shave away at some of the edges so there may be spots of white where I don't want it :(

selkie test print
im in a linocut printing class at my university right now and I am so happy with how my selkie print is coming along so far.
i only inked a portion of it to see how the gradation In the seal's fur is like, as well as to see how the waves with the woman's face looks like. This is what the plate looks so far, with the progress done since that test print visible
new test proof!
I think I only have one more proof to go and then I will be ready to make my final print!
The final version of the Selkie linocut print! I am really happy how it turned out, my teacher even taught me how to blend colours to get the cool dark blue at the top! (In person it is a bit more blue)
