Wisteria Wizards ✨. no one asked for these, i just felt like doing some wizard character design.
here are two older wizards and their apprentices dressed up for some fall witch festival. the Wisteria sect of wizards are chill with witches. many of them grew up learning witchcraft instead of wizardry and/or escaped wizarding school to seek out alternative magic styles (and because wizard school sucks. magic is dangerous and if you start exhibiting Wizard Symptoms then you absolutely need a mentor and support system to help you through it but Jesus Christ. no school should have it's own cemetery.)
Fun Facts:
first wizard's parasol is actually a staff and a crystal ball that's sort of "unfolded". he's a fan of corsets and his big naturals come from him being a rare dwarf with gigantism. He/Him unless he's in dwarven company where she uses She/Her. personal gender male, cultural gender female.
second wizard uses a prosthetic hand for a wand. great wand, less great hand. using it as a hand can actually take more effort than using it as a wand because he has to think about any super fine movements unless he sets it to mirror his other hand. This isn't the biggest problem because he rarely changes its position or uses it for complicated actions outside of spells. he was born with one arm and that's what he's used to. all of this is, of course, less important than the fact that he has a little dragon familiar named Yogurt that likes to be carried around like a sleepy stress ball. this is inconvenient but adorable.
third wizard? a bad bitch with great fashion. that's all. yes that cloak is alive, what of it?
fourth wizard isn't good enough at hiding his Symptoms yet but he's trying his best.
These two~ ;A;
I like how you’ve forced them to be together
some doodles based on this idea I've had rolling around in my brain, I always loved role swaps in media and it'd be fun to see neopets try it aha
You may get asked this a lot, so please excuse my ignorance - but how do you go about constructing character expressions and body language and such? Thanks!
Besides The Basics (construction of heads and skulls and muscles and skeletons and how they move), I’ll go over some things I’ve been trying to work on myself lately:
1. Treat expressions as a single gesture of the face/head, as opposed to a head and then individual features dumped on a plate and arranged into an expression.
First, just get down the big shapes of your expression, just like you would for a pose.
So say I wanna do a low angle angry pose. I know the features are gonna be all mashed down at the bottom because of perspective.
Scribble it down
start to put on features
fix stuff
put on more stuff
fix stuff again
erasing and flipping and stuff a whole bunch until you are happy with it or stop caring
Whole head is a gesture!
2. Just like a facial expression, jot down where the important parts of an entire pose goes first. You can force the rest of the body to fit the pose.
So here I knew I wanted the shoulders tilted a certain direction, and te hand to be in that particular position in front of her face.
That’s the simplest explanation I got. Don’t be afraid to push and pull faces and bodies around! Worry about being “on model” last!
it’s nice to see how others do stuff like this, everyone is different but there’s something to learn from everybody!
You ask me, where have I gone for a while? I was drawing ponytube!!!!!!
I'm sorry if I made mistakes. English is not my native language
cunt dykeula. is this anything.

Beloved bodytype
You were born of a sacrilegious union. Your green dragon mom never figured the knight she seduced while masquerading as a noblewoman was a silver dragon in disguise. You’d no idea either, born a human orphan. When your dragon blood awoke, so did the dangers which all your heritage entails.
“I was born half dragon.”
“Oh shit, what’s the other half?”
“Different dragon.
#“i’m two halfs dragon” “that’s just being a whole dragon” “no”
“im two halves dragon” “thats just being a whole dragon” “YOUD FUCKING THINK SO WOULDNT YOU”
Here's some notes on some of the upper body muscles so you, artist, don't need to look them up
They are not medically accurate, just enough for artists to know the necessary muscles and how they work together
I 100% recommend doing the last exercise I did to be able to actually place the muscles
reboot metal gear and make raiden exactly like this i promise i will day one preorder

Hand reference yessss!!
Hey! i like how you draw hands, can you do a guide on how you do it???????
I looove drawing hands, but they're as fun to draw as they are difficult 👌👏
Usually when I draw, I don't go for perfect realism/anatomically correct, I mostly follow whatever makes the drawing look good, with exaggerated shapes, sharp angles, etc.
Drawing with references is the best advice I can give you!
When I struggle to draw hands I usually just look at my own hand and try to copy it (I have a small mirror next to my computer to make it easier), it works, but it's not always the best option. If you want to improve quickly, find some pictures and practice by drawing them!
A lot of websites have a built-in timer for studies, here is the one I used for this one for example:
So yeah, practice practice practice! The more you draw, the better you'll get!
I hope they all have giant bug eyes

The only real difference between the Raksura and Pern dragons is that the Raksura outside of consorts come in multiple colors, and the lack of telepathy.
Pern:
Gold/Queen: female that is allowed to reproduce. (Biggest) Bronze: Male that is allowed to reproduce. (2nd biggest) ___ Brown: Male that is not allowed to reproduce (3rd biggest) Blue: Male that is not allowed to reproduce. (2nd smallest) Green: Females that are not allowed to reproduce. (smallest)
Raksura:
Queen: Winged female who can produce all other Raksura (Biggest) Consort: Winged male who can produce all other Raksura (2nd biggest). Always have black scales when in winged form. ___ Warriors, both male and female: Winged, cannot reproduce. Usually bright colors. Arbora, both male and female: Non-winged, can produce more non-winged offspring. Can have magical powers. Can be forcibly transformed into a warrior with enough stress on the colony. Usually green or brown.
There are so many unnecessary redundancies and it doesn't make much sense. There's no attempt by the world building to explain it either.
They're called Warriors, but there are also Arbora called Soldiers, so like,,,,,,why. They also don't actually function as warriors, because, as Martha Wells refuses to not let her protagonists be the strongest most epic people ever, the queen and consort end up fighting 99% of the battles and have to rescue the warriors half the time. So they're completely useless.
Also a whole fuckton of biological essentialist bullshit but I've made a bunch of posts like that already.
