Me before heavy deadlifts
3 years and 27kg/59lbs later and still going strong. It's not all about winter bulks and summer cuts; it's a lifestyle. I hated myself back then - emaciated, weak, no confidence. Change your body and the mind will soon follow.

How to get hyped for a lift
Hey look, it's me! Am I a fitness model now?
Throwback to August's condition compared to where I started out. Bringing it even bigger and more shredded than ever this year. Sub 10% by May 18th is the goal.
"A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him."
David Brinkley
“Successful people are 100% convinced that they are masters of their own destiny. They’re not creatures of circumstance, they create circumstance; if the circumstances around them suck they change them.”
Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street
When I told my family I was going to be a cover model before I died they laughed in my face! Before I die? Try two years. Your dreams are closer than you think. Reach out and grab them.
oh my gosh so inspiring :)

Dream Big. Set Goals. Take Action.
The below is something I wrote a few years ago on a blog I used to keep. Happened to rediscover it the other day and think that this is just as relevant now as it ever was.
Sometimes I find myself looking at people and wondering whether they are achieving the things they want to achieve or whether they are even taking steps in the right direction.
In 50 years from now, will I look back on my life knowing that I’ve done what I wanted to do? Or will I get lost working a job I hate, just because I have bills to pay? Is that how a life should be lead? Born to scrape money together to pay bills? No. I don’t want to lose sight of what’s important to me; of the goals I want to accomplish and the dreams I want to realize. I hate the thought of a life spent just ‘getting by’ and just ‘making do’ with what I have.
I wonder how many people never even try to achieve their dreams as they don’t think it possible. I wonder about the people who fantasized about becoming an astronaut or adventurer; a doctor or a vet; a fireman or a lawyer, but never even tried as they were told it was a pipe dream or a fantasy. Who are these people to stand in our way? Who are these people to hold us back when they have no idea what we’re made of or what’s inside us – and that’s the stuff that matters; our passion, our drive, our commitment, our ambition.
Our lives should be spent constantly learning and striving to better ourselves and the world around us. Our lives should be spent doing what we love.
I know money is an issue. I know work is an issue. I know it’s more than easy to get ensnared in a dead-end job because it pays the rent or buys you the occasional luxury. But don’t lose sight of the things you held dear. It might take longer to achieve than you had wanted but don’t give up on it. You want to climb Mount Everest? Do it! Put a bit of money away a little at time. Take a climbing or survival class here or there. It might take years to come to fruition but none of that will matter once you’re stood on the summit at the very top of the world knowing you’ve achieved your dream.
Take your aspirations, form them into obsessions and don’t let them slip away. Take action. Come back to them from time to time and assess whether you’re closer to achieving them than you were the last time you checked. And little by little you will start to get the things out of your life that you had always wanted.

YES, this picture!
Desiderata by Max Ehrmann
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
A Better You... Right Now
Do you know what’s crazy? You could change who you are right this second if you wanted to. You’re in charge of your own fate.
Do you want to be more confident? Be more confident. Want to be nicer? Be nicer! Want to do achieve more? Do more! Hell, if you want to be more selfish, be more selfish! You can be whoever you want to be.
It sounds crazy, but it's true. We're all guilty of getting stuck; of pointing fingers; of placing blame for our lack of happiness in anyone or anything but ourselves. We are more accustomed to making excuses; for coming up with reasons why we can't change right now than we are with actually progressing and working toward a better life!
You can’t always control your circumstances but you can control your approach. Life is 90% what happens to you and 10% how you react to it.
