Look, I understand not enjoying the show due to personal tastes or having nuanced criticism about specific story arcs, specially if you come from a minority group portrayed in the show. It’s absolutely valid and I’ve been there myself with other shows.
That being said, I wish some loud members of the fandom would take a deep breath and not take every single line that the characters say as literal or true. Half the dialog in this show is either metaphorical or meant as a distraction to how the characters really feel in the scene.
These are deeply flawed characters who are intentionally written that way. What they say isn’t the show’s manifesto or a moral lesson.
Do the writers always get it right? Of course not. Is the show written to intentionally upset the audience in certain scenes? Yes, It’s been like that since season 1.
If this show isn’t your cup of tea, that’s totally fine! You are free to move on to something else or discuss it with others who feel the same way.
Just please don’t flood the fandom spaces with negativity. It’s really draining for the majority of us who are enjoying the show for what it is. Specially when these negative critical essays (full of spoilers) are using the show’s tags and being posted on the first day when the episodes come out.
Just move on. Let the rest of us have some fun here.
