I know I’m not the first person to say this but like. One beautiful thing about being into whump writing is that it’s a great outlet to help process your own suffering, whether what you’re going through is directly connected to your fave whump themes or not.
For example, I’m driven to write about this right now because I just got home after a long day of helping my friend move and now every time I so much as take a deep breath I feel like I’m being stabbed. Would not recommend.
Pain doesn’t have to be alchemised into something more. But sometimes it can be.
ex-alcoholic whumpee getting roofied & assaulted after relapsing and going to a bar, then blaming themself because if they hadn't fucking given in then it would never have happened. (also complicates things with trying to tell friends because they don't want to admit they relapsed, and because it would prove that their friends were right about needing to quit in the first place)
whumpee getting roofied is always a fun iteration of nsfwhump to me and the combination of the shame of a relapse and the self blame and the inability to tell anyone about it without telling them that they were drinking in the first place... oh that's good, that's so good. maybe even expecting their friends to be glad in a way, smug, like - well, now you'll know better, won't you?
(and their reactions are anything but. well- maybe someone reacts like that. but the others, their real friends, the thought of shaming whumpee for their relapse doesn't even occur to them at all. the only thing they care about is how to help their friend, how to support them in the aftermath of the relapse and the rape.)
I love this prompt.
I also raise you: whumpee gets roofied at a house party while they WEREN’T drinking and aren’t believed when they, in their increasingly intoxicated state, try to tell their friend something is wrong. Instead of helping them, their friend storms off—leaving them vulnerable to whumper’s advances.
write about disabled whumpees! how do their disabilities impact their whump? there are so many possibilities here…
- maybe they’re on a medication that dangerously interacts with a drug someone tries to slip them. does this inadvertently save them, or doom them further?
- unexpected things may completely wipe out a disabled person for days on end. what happens when a disabled whumpee is pushed past their limits? and are they accidentally pressured by someone they love, or are they forced by a whumper?
- many disabled people deal with symptoms 24/7, so when a disabled whumpee speaks up something is probably VERY wrong.
there’s so much whump potential in everyday parties, especially when substances are involved…
when whumpee gets so intoxicated they can’t walk in a straight line, what happens?
maybe whumpee drunkenly calls a friend because their phone’s about to die and they lost their wallet. bonus points if it’s a protective friend whose mind is caught between concern and amusement because they’ve never seen whumpee so out of it before.
maybe whumpee goes to a function with their partner and they get separated—when they finally manage to find each other among the chaos, whumpee can barely stand because they got crossfaded after being pressured to ignore their limits. does their partner yell at whoever pressured whumpee, or do they fret over whumpee while whumpee just clings to them and mumbles about how cute their partner is?
