if so then whoa!! yes!! i totally see that!! that's such a good point/idea!!! i shall ramble more below in case you're curious on my thoughts:

now i'm thinking more about how crying is such a good coping mechanism (people tend to think crying = bad, but really it's the opposite; it is the processing of emotions!), but also laughter is too- we feel better after having laughed lots!! i think it's pretty beautiful and pretty human when sometimes, when things get too much, people end up laughing instead of crying (or doing both at the same time!).

do you have any ideas about why certain things trigger humour? i often wonder about why we find irony or shocking things or puns or cruelty or whatever else funny.

(i know i could google it but i much prefer to think and chat about these things than to have actual answers to them)

i also think it's kind of cute that if it's true that people laugh as a defence mechanism, that so many people try to help others laugh, to the point where it's a sign of charisma, friendliness, and can even be a job! inadvertently, we're all trying to heal each other!

why am i only just now learning about just how misconstrued the idea of "girl dinner" is from the original meaning

the woman who coined it used it to refer to what i can only describe as a "charcuterie board dinner" that she had with her friend (another woman). she felt that it was a "girl dinner" because her boyfriend wasn't there—she was having dinner with her friend instead, and felt that there was less pressure to make a more "conventional" meal. the idea was that when you're with your "girl friends" there is less pressure on you to conform to an arbitrary social expectation. hello

You wanna ship canonically aspec characters because “aro/ace people can still date/have sex”? Okay, then. LET’S DO IT.  I wanna see an aromantic character with an alloromantic love interest. I wanna see that confession of undying love and the moment when the aro character says they will never feel the same way—not romantically.

I wanna see the asexual character with their allosexual partner. I wanna see that moment when the ace characters tries sex with their partner for the first time because they want to make them happy only to realize that they are 100% sex repulsed.

I wanna see the two demiromantics who don’t even know if what they feel is romantic attraction, but they adore each other and just want to make healthy snacks together and destroy each other at Mario Kart.

I wanna see the two aces who love sensual affection and are figuring out what they define as sexual or not.

I wanna see the romance + sex neutral aroace who happily and consensually does whatever makes their partner happy…but their partner still struggles with feeling undesired.
