Arcane Nouveau: The Paladin

Earlier this year I started a new little project mixing DnD and Art Nouveau influences.

I took 12 classes and 12 species and randomised them, drawing the results. After the designs I had so much fun that I started to flesh out the world and characters more too.

Here’s Lireal Silkheart. A Drow Paladin raised by the Sword Dancers of Eilistraee. She now acts as a Knight-Errant and leader of one of an Adventuring party.

I knew I wanted to do a Magik piece but was stuck on a few ideas. I ended up playing around with dimensions and ended up painting this as if it was a card in Magic the Gathering. It was lots of fun figuring out the scene and hints of the Darkchylde.

Skoll and Hati

A series of fan made comic covers imagining a prequel series of Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati.

Part I Betrayal - General Skoll and his Padawan are ambushed by their Clones during order 66 and his Padawan dies.

Part II Salvation - a lost and broken Baylan finds purpose in rescuing a young force sensitive from the clutches of Imperial Inquisitors

Part III knowledge - Baylan begins training Shin in the force as he delves deeper into the more esoteric aspects of the force.

Part IV Power - shin comes into her own as the two act as mercenaries in the outer rim.

Part V Wolves - post Ahsoka, an epilogue exploring their similarities but also their diverging paths.

Part 1 of 5 in my faux comic cover series featuring Baylan Skoll and his first Padawan being betrayed by his Clone troops.

I imagine that the death of his Padawan at the hands of his own men would be the catalyst that makes him touch the Dark Side.
