Shane worries at the idea like a loose tooth. He's never seriously considered a tattoo before, genuinely hasn't even idly imagined getting one, but now the idea is firmly lodged in his mind. He avoids admitting to himself he's even contemplating what he would get, but in his heart he has known since he scrolled the account and saw a particular piece. A lily.

I'm so excited to see whatever you make! I tend to most love vids with a bit of pace. I love happy, I love angry, I love funny, but really I'm into most styles of vid. My favourite musical artists include Janelle Monae, Barenaked Ladies, and the casts of many musicals, so truly go wherever your muse takes you.
I love ensembles and friendships very much! A character study is also always a delight. I am more iffy on sincere shippy vids but sometimes I do totally love them. Mostly I just love vids, so I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever you do.
Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont-Spelling Bee (NZ TV) & Adaptations [UMBRELLA] — This show is so much fun and so fucking stupid. I love it a lot and would love any vid for it.
Hook (1991) [SAFETY] — RU! FI! OOOOO! I love this film so fucking much. Here for ensemble or family or pirate-centric or just Rufio being amazing, truly there are so many directions this could be taken.
Kevin Can Fuck Himself (TV 2021) — Show of my heeeeaaart! I would LOVE a Patty character study or a Patty/Alison vid so much. Or anything, but those are the things I most yearn for.
Laura Kampf - House Restoration (YouTube Playlist) — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWejwPwiEqU&list=PLLsyCFICnr819K6cWPGm1LUp9xDfhk-HP Look, if you haven't watched it, do that because it's seriously wild in a way the title cannot begin to cover. Could go funny or triumphant or melodrama, but in any form I think there's good vid fodder there.
Monster Factory - Polygon (Web Series) — This series has made me laugh more than nearly anything in this world and is special for me particularly having first found it when I desperately needed that. Would love a vid for it.
Pottery to the People (YouTube Channel) — Such a great channel, covering a bunch of styles of pottery. I think a vidder could have a lot of fun with it.
Thelma and Louise (1991) [SAFETY] — Watched this for the first time recently and it lived up to the hype so much more than I expected.
Tortall - Tamora Pierce [UMBRELLA] — I have loved this series since I was in single digits. Just seeing it listed gave me such a surge of emotion in my chest. Alanna and Kel especially are my favourites, I love their growth and journeys and the way they reflect each other. And then seeing Alanna as a mother, and how all her traumas and biases impact her and Aly? So much amazing stuff. I'm in awe of anyone who manages to do a book vid, so would be happy with whatever.
This just got some notes so I rewatched it. Can't believe it's coming up on five years since my first vid! I think I actually did a pretty good job. Needs more Ted, though.
First off, I wrote this at 7am having slept not a wink, so I apologise in advance if it's totally incoherent.
Secondly, thank you and I am so excited for whatever you come up with!
My favourite vids tend to be up tempo, funny or angry or happy or feelingsy but I am not so into the ballads. I love a lot of different music, and love finding music through vids. Examples of favourite artists: Janelle Monae, Panic! at the Disco's later albums, Beyoncé, REM, Playing Rapunzel, Barenaked Ladies. But also so many more things and musicals and the Forrest Gump soundtrack and pop punk and really I'm easy.
Ensembles are my jam, but I'm always here for a character study. I'm somewhat less into ship vids, though there are many I do love, mostly leaning into being funny or stabbing you in the heart.
Some notes about what I requested, in alphabetical order, below the cut.
1. Anna and the Apocalypse. I love it so, anything for this would bring me joy.
2. Dimension 20. I have only seen Mentopolis, Fantasy High, A Court of Fey and Flowers, Misfits and Magic, and Never Stop Blowing Up. Would enjoy something for any of these, but I'd especially love a Mentopolis or NSBU vid. They're so goooood and I would die for Alex Song-Xia.
3. Dropout TV. I love it!!! Have loved the new shows for this year a lot, I'm a huge fan of Breaking News, have watched and loved at least some of nearly all their shows. Some fave people: Izzy, Aabria, Erika, Raph, Grant, Lily, Ally, Lou, Brennan, Sam, Oscar, Rehka, also all of them? I thrive on the chaos and the friendship.
4. Game Changer. See above, really! It's a complete joy and always manages to do new and amazing things.
5. Severance. This is my Roman Empire, I don't know that a day goes by without me thinking about this show. All of it. Just. Yeah.
6. Taskmaster NZ. KIWI JOY! Each season has so much wonderful stuff and great people. S2 is my fave, but all of them have stand outs. Also they like to make Paul give birth a lot? OR give birth to Paul? Idk there's something with the pregnancy body horror lurking there.
7. Taskmaster Umbrella. I have only seen UK, NZ, and Australia but I have enormous love for all of them.
8. The Great Pottery Throwdown. It's just wonderful and silly and kind and joyful. It was a big part of the inspiration for me trying out pottery and now I have a kiln in my garage and throw at least a couple times a week.
9. The McElroy Family Clubhouse. APPOINTMENT VIEWING!! I feel like this is the least likely to get a vid but gosh do I simply adore it; I'm so excited when 5pm on a Tuesday rolls around every week. There's lots to have fun with — the different bits and playing with green screen nonsense and Miggy and 6 thumbs 1 heart gaming streams and also Yellowstone merch, I guess???? I would simply expire from joy if I got a vid of this.
10. Thousandaires. More Dropout! And this one was something like 10 minutes off being a Safety, so it's totally basically one, right? This was so much everything I love about dropout, community and friendship and committing to the bit and letting people's personalities shine. What a joy!
ALSO for my d20 crowd i finished an animatic i've wanted to make since i got here. this song is so undeniably kristen and it's consumed the last 3 weeks of my life. cheers‼️
Till tender is far too fierce for us, winter is almost here for us.
Or: two boys from Brooklyn and how they gave up their personhood. But before they were tools belonging to sprawling superpowers, they belonged to eachother.
Happy 10 years to CA:TWS

I'm so excited to see whatever you make! I tend to most love vids with a bit of pace. I love happy, I love angry, I love funny, but really I'm into most styles of vid. Pop, rock, indie, and musicals are favourite music styles, but again I love to be surprised.
I love ensembles and friendships very much! A character study is also always a delight. Mostly I just love vids, so I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever you do.
Dropout TV [UMBRELLA] - I love these goobers so much! My favourite Dropout shows are: Game Changer, Breaking News, Dirty Laundry, Total Forgiveness, and Um, Actually! (I haven't seen a lot of D20 yet but I loooooved Mentopolis). I would so love a chaos and friendship vid for this. Or an Izzy vid. Or an Erika vid! Or so many things. A Grant and Ally vid would also be great.
The Great Pottery Throwdown (TV) - This show is such a total joy. Even moreso now I'm getting into pottery myself. I'm love anything for this, though I feel like Keith has to cry at least once or it doesn't count.
Hook (1991) [SAFETY] - RU! FI! OOOOO! I love this film so fucking much. Here for ensemble or family or pirate-centric or just Rufio being amazing, truly there are so many directions this could be taken.
Kevin Can Fuck Himself (TV 2021) - Show of my heeeeaaart! I would LOVE a Patty character study or a Patty/Alison vid so much. Or anything, but those are the things I most yearn for.
Knives Out (Movie Series) - I just love these films, here for anything.
Let's Plays - The McElroy Family (Web Series) - Ahh there are so many options here! I could go for anything here, there's so many options, but I have a particular fondness for the drift% series they've been doing this year, with Super Mario World and Donkey Kong.
My Brother My Brother and Me (TV) [SAFETY] - I love this show very much, it's just such a joy. Shenigans, please!
Polite Society (2023) [SAFETY] - What a truly excellent movie. It's so funny and badass and heart-warming and brilliant. It's probably clear by now I love friendship and shenanigans and siblings and this has all those in spades.
Having looked through historic googlebooks many a time and been frustrated by how difficult it is to search in this time period, this chart is most certainly due to the algorithm not properly picking up the "Long S" which was an f-like character used in place of an s especially in 17th and 18th century printing.
The rules of when the short and long s's are used are somewhat complicated to modern people, but they are almost always at the beginning of words, never at the end, and if there is a double s sometimes they are combined and sometimes not:
99% of the time the word actually being used is "suck" or "sucking." It actually shows up a lot as a word used to describe babies who were still nursing. In texts from this period the word "suck" will almost always read as "fuck." This makes some of these auto-transcriptions absolutely brilliant in hindsight:
If you search for the word "fuck" in googlebooks within this time frame, you get hundreds of pages of entries like this. For example, this Shakespeare anthology:
This is not to say that people in the 18th century didn't find this hilarious, I'm sure they did, but f-bombs were not being dropped in classic literature at the time. If they do show up, like in this 1785 slang dictionary: it is almost always bleeped out:
The other 1% of the fucks in 18th century books are, of course, not bleeped out because they are in Ye Olde Porn, of which there is a surprising amount on googlebooks.
I should also note if it wasn't clear that the immense dropoff just after 1800 is when the long s stopped being used in print, and the reemergence was in the mid-late 20th century when people DID start dropping f-bombs in literature
