🕊️ Please Take a Moment to Read Nadin’s Story
My name is Nadin. I never imagined I would write something like this. I’ve always been someone who kept her worries quiet, someone who believed that even the hardest days could be endured with patience and faith. But right now, I am reaching out — not because I want to, but because I need to.
I am a wife, a mother, and one of many women in Gaza trying to survive days that feel like they have no end. There was a short time — a brief ceasefire — where we thought things might start to heal. Where the sound of war faded for just long enough to let us breathe. But that moment is gone now, and the fear has returned louder than before.
My days are filled with uncertainty, and my nights with prayer. We have lost so much. Our home was damaged, our sense of safety taken from us. But through all of this, I try to keep going. I try to hold on to what little peace I can create with my hands, my words, and my love.
I am not asking for much. Just a little help to keep our lives from falling further apart. To fix the small things — a cracked wall, a leaking roof, the pieces of daily life that help us hold on to dignity.
This campaign isn’t just about survival. It’s about holding on to what makes us human in a place that keeps trying to take that away. It’s about showing my daughter — even though I won’t mention her name here — that the world didn’t forget us.
If you’ve ever felt powerless in the face of suffering, please know that even the smallest gesture can carry great meaning. A kind word. A shared post. A quiet donation. These things remind us that we’re not alone.
My name is Nadin I’m a mother, a wife, and just one of many women in Gaza who are trying to hold on — to hope, to our families, to any piece
I am still here. Still holding on. Still believing that people out there — people like you — still care.
Please, if you feel moved, consider supporting or sharing this campaign.
if you voted for trump, block me. you're a horrible fucking person.
disability & mental health resources for gamers
hey all! so my day job is that i'm a social worker for neurodivergent people, and my (very awesome) boss asked me to put together a list of resources for our clients about gaming. this list focuses on video games, not TTRPGs, but i still wanted to share it here since there's so much overlap between our communities!
spreading this list is much appreciated. i am a game lover to the end but there is a lot of work our community needs to do for it to be as accessible, positive, and supportive as possible! you never know who might benefit from something on this list
resource list:
Games for Change - an organization that aims to promote a better world through gaming. Includes a curated list of games (with an accessibility features search) that promote growth or better mental health, or are disability accessible
Take This - decreasing stigma and increasing understanding, support, and resources for mental health in the gaming world. Includes mental health resources and consulting
Dager System - a disability in gaming journalism site that does educational videos, accessibility reviews, and has a searchable accessibility database (acquired "can I play that")
Taming Gaming (/ The Family Gaming Database) - an online searchable database designed to help parents and caregivers navigate good games for their kids. Includes curated lists of games for lots of different categories, including emotions and themes
Disability accessible game lists
Mental health game lists
Autism friendly games
AbleGamers - a charity making video games more accessible to the disability community. Includes consulting and adaptive technologies
Autistica Play - a branch of Autistica that aims to make video games more accessible to autistic people and educate game designers about autism
Autistic Gaming Initiative - streamers who raise funds for autistic led advocacy groups
Spectrum Gaming - an online / discord based community and advocacy group to unite autistic youth in gaming. lead by an autistic adult, but run by the autistic youth themselves
if people know of more, or know of orgs that focus on other disabilities (i mainly work with autistic people) please feel free to shoot them my way so i can update the list! using games to improve our lives and our world is a big passion of mine so i always appreciate learning about cool initiatives out there!
actually I do feel kinda weird that brain injuries don't always get treated as like actual forms of neurodivergency "because it's not like you were born like this"
trust me, context doesn’t help much
Queer teens are victims to heteronormativity (real)
Me whenever I remember a new year is about to start, and I still haven't processed the year that just passed:
My personal headcanon is that among the 2003 turtles, Leo ends up being the shortest after his brothers hit their growth spurts.
It makes it easy for the other turtles to just yeet him around, so they come up with a game around it. They have to sneak up on Leo(hardest part of the challenge), toss him into the water(second part, points based on the aim and landing spot), and then run away from him as long as possible after he chases after them (third, and scariest part). Everyone gets individual points based on their performance, but they’re allowed to cooperate, since the first two steps are pretty hard to manage alone.
Leo absolutely hates the game and beats them into oblivion everytime they do it.
one thing they can both agree on is that they do enjoy a gun show
i told you guys i had more thoughts about turtles watching star trek, like the funniest way to come out to your brother
something so endearing about 03 turtles is the way they wordlessly understand each other
(no i dont mean this as him literally watching 9 different episodes of voyager at once, it was just a more fun way of representing his thoughts lmao, they have so many tvs for some reason might as well use them)
I’m trying out the format of breaking up comics instead of posting them as a whole page. The full page is under the cut!
The fact that I'm seeing more and hearing more about several adult TMNT fans who are shipping themselves with the turtles concerns me a lot.
There are so many adult characters in TMNT and you choose to ship yourselves with teenagers? And even make NSFW of them? Really??
Before you pull up that they are fictional characters, fiction can and does affect reality! Also it normalizes pedophilic behaviour and sexualizing minors.
"Ugh it's not like me or these other people are gonna actually crush on in real life kids/teens. Stop being such a brat and crybaby!", girl/boy your still shipping yourself with a child and are promoting and normalizing this kind of behavior 🤦♀️
I've talked about this before but I'll keep it simple as possible: an adult crushing on or shipping themselves with a fictional character that is a child is still really creepy and can and does normalize creepy and pedophilic behavior.
Please stop this. It's not normal and we shouldn't say it's okay just because it's fictional.
like they say, representation matters
