synopsis: by the next morning, it’s all over the front pages of every local newspaper: young adult (name) murdered in cold blood by an unknown killer. renjun huang, an up-and-coming journalist at neo post, is tasked with handling his paper’s updates on (name)’s case. it’s a typical piece at first - interviews with family members, pulling recent posts from social media, learning of (name)’s frequented places, speaking with the local police department. it isn’t until renjun’s in too deep that he realizes his folly: he’s become too attached to his subject. his obsessive downward spiral leads him to learn anything and everything about (name) that he can, even outside of his continuously updated article, and it’s only when he’s too late that he realizes what’s happening.
he’s falling in love with (name) - at least, with the idea of who they were - in death when he hadn’t even known them in life.

jeno’s interlude: stuck between dreams & reality and right & wrong, between good & bad and poor & rich
synopsis : jeno had had dreams, aspirations, hopes - the kinds of things that people like him can’t afford. instead of attending university like he so desperately wants to, he’s stuck playing mechanic to some of the richest, and vilest, people in town. there’s no love lost between johnny suh, richest of the rich, most elitist of the elitists, and jeno lee, resident ‘no good greaser’. there’s certainly no love at all between jeno and (name) suh, johnny’s “beloved” sibling. when jeno unwittingly witnesses a robbery carried out by the man he hates the most, he finds himself targeted by people far more powerful than he can ever be. in an effort to save his family, his friends, and himself, and in one final act of revenge before running away to start a new life, he hotwires johnny suh’s cherry red chevy bel air and books it out of town.
it isn’t until he’s miles away that he finds out that (name) has been fast asleep in the back seat the entire time.

donghyuck’s interlude: stuck between mischief & mayhem and comfort & wanderlust, between love & hate and ghosts & demons
synopsis: liminal spaces: defined, of course, as spaces where both nothing and everything are real, where one inexplicably feels as if they’ve left something behind and are about to start something new, spaces such as desert convenience stores at 4 am or empty hotel hallways in the dead of night. we all know they exist, but only an elite few - hunters, as they are known - attempt to find out why and how they exist. (name) and donghyuck don’t see eye to eye: never have, and never will. their shared penchant for arguing with each other on every possible occurrence in every possible way is the only thing they share. this is unfortunate to begin with, especially when both work in the same career: liminal space research. the tiny size of their industry (it’s literally just them anymore, renjun’s moved on to tracking bigfoot while jeno and jaemin are following the yeti. mark is terrified of any and all mildly occult or unnatural or supernatural occurrences, and nobody knows what chenle and jisung are doing because they’re all too afraid to ask.) makes it impossible for them to avoid each other, even when they disagree on what fundamentally cause liminal spaces. donghyuck believes demons are the ones causing liminality, while (name) is a firm believer of the Ghost Theory. they soon find themselves in the same places at the same times, and as things get rough and hunting gets rougher, they’re forced to work together.
will they put aside their differences and find love in liminality? more importantly, will they finally end their lifelong debate: demons or ghosts?

synopsis: when neo city’s premier hospital gets a new chief of pediatric surgery, (name) can’t help but be drawn to him and his 4-year old angel of a daughter. it’s easy - after all, he’s a world-renowned medical professional, one of the kindest people anyone’s ever met, a fantastic father, and, on top of it all, wildly handsome. among their busy schedules, hectic personal lives, and innumerable patients and some gut-wrenching patient losses, can (name) and jaemin both look past their apprehensions and find love outside of apprehensions from both sides? as they get to know each other better, (name) unravels parts of jaemin’s past that he finds difficult to show to others, and before anyone can expect it, life finds its way of hurting their budding romance. life finds its way of hurting (name), and life really finds its way of hurting jaemin.

synopsis: jeno has always been the heir to the throne, though his stepbrother jaemin is no less significant in the eyes of the people. from what the three of them consider the beginning of time, (name) has been the final installment of their unshakeable trio: three royals - (name) bring an heir to their own kingdom and jeno and jaemin having their own as well - with a bond stronger than any treaty could ever make. as time goes on as it’s wont to do, however, it’s evident that (name) is much more than a friend to jeno… and, in the same way, much more than a friend to jaemin. (name) has a choice to make, and as more and more truths about their kingdoms become uncovered, (name) may have to hurt them all in order to preserve their people. with great power comes great responsibility, and with a life lived comes a life of heartbreak.
in the end, it comes down to one thing: life is becoming a game, and outcomes depend on how well (name) can play it.
