Today’s aesthetic: keeping the same tab open in your browser for three solid weeks because you’re definitely going to get around to reading and/or acting on whatever’s in it any minute now.

This is a personal attack.
So, I saw the post going around writeblr about Fighter’s Block. As a lifelong gamer, the concept really appealed to me. Today I’m giving it a shot!
So far, it’s really cute. I’m enjoying it as I work on this new scene. I also enjoy the pause feature, but that comes with mixed feelings.I keep pausing the fight when I don’t actually have to. I’m not leaving my computer or doing anything important. Usually, I just want to switch tabs for a minute or something. In fact, I’m doing that right now.
We’ll see how that habit evolves over time. Right now, Fighter’s Block is one for my bookmarks.
Do any of y’all start writing an emotional scene that hits a little too close to home and just. Become emotional, yourselves?
Honestly I bawl at every single emotional scene I ever write – as I’m writing it, as I’m thinking about it, as I’m editing it – just, like, constantly. I become a mess. But that’s a sign of good writing, so I ain’t complaining. Too much.
Lol okay, at least I’m not the only one xD
i don’t know who needs to hear this today, but to the writer who’s just hit that point in their first draft where this feels impossible and you hate all of your characters and you want to delete every copy and backup of this story immediately and the ENTIRE WORLD IS EXPLODING -
it’s not. seriously. go eat some fucking carbs or something. you’re fine.
Yesterday, I decided to make myself a deadline to finish the first draft of my novel. I've never hit the word count I expect before, and I'm pretty sure it'll require tons of self-edits before it even sees a single beta or CP.
BUT.
I'll get it done if it kills me.
Reblog if you don’t write 1,000 words per hour
Don’t be intimidated by posts saying something like “I wrote 7k today!”
I will probably never write 7k in one day. And that’s okay. It really is. On an average day, 1k takes me two or three hours. But I enjoy myself, I like my writing and I know my wip will get finished someday if I keep working.
Shoutout to:
The writers who don’t write 7k per day
The writers who don’t write every day
The writers who actively procrastinate
The writers who love writing nonetheless
you know, if an adult is a nice person that’s not “innocence.” they learned how to actively be a good person. they’re not some eternal child
also i’m gonna be real why is it that being nice in general is seen as a childish or immature trait
Because being nice gets you taken advantage of a lot more than being an asshole. It makes you naive. Like a child
you’re right, “i like to be mean because it benefits me. being nice is for babies” is a very mature attitude
Safety glasses off, motherfuckers*.
*HE REALLY SAID THAT HE REALLY DID I WAS LOSING MY DAMN MIND
Look. I’m just going to say it. Fantasy writers have my absolute admiration and respect. Creating your own worlds, making up names and mythology? Weapons and shit? Goddamn, how do you do it. Y’all as magic as your fantasy worlds
Hell yeah
“what is it like being a content creator?” ive had this oc since i was 15 and im still not sure if his name is right but i know his feelings about sand in detail thank you for asking
I’ve started using 4thewords as a way to gamify my writing habit and to make sure I have consistent progress. I set a goal to write about 800 words in three hours. Should be cake for many people, right?
A lot of procrastinating and traveling home from the library later, I opened the site again to find I had about 20 minutes left and nearly 600 words to go.
Guess who finished with a few minutes to spare?
sebastian you asked for a parsnip cuz ur sad and i cant give it to you if you don’t opEN YOUR DOOR
fine be like that i’ll just stand here consumed with lust for the rest of the day

Honestly? Feel kinda weird being back on Tumblr after that Great Purge. Does anyone even use this anymore? Am I taking needless time away from writing? (Yes.) Whatever the answer, hoping to find some community outside Twitter and Goodreads.
