❝ At 11:56pm, Icarus Carlisle was pronounced dead. But Icarus Carlisle was not meant to die. ❞
After playing ‘Boy, Resurrected’, Icarus wanted nothing more than to lead a normal life (or as normal as possible as one could with a world famous father) and without thinking he signed up to be a detective. He found his place, finally feeling like he belonged somewhere and finally feeling like he could do some true good in the world.
Naturally his stint as a former theatre star, relaying messages from the dead to their loved ones in the audience, was always going to haunt him and wherever he went the words ‘spirit kid’ or ‘Boy, Resurrected’ followed. It was a disease of the mind, of the past, but Icarus was adamant that it wasn’t going to bring him down.
But it’s not long until he has worse to worry about. With corruption amongst his colleagues rife, with a string of grizzly murders playing out like some twisted game, and with his relationship with his father turning bitter, Icarus seeks help from the only people he knows he can trust: the dead. A fateful encounter with a woman who has prophetic dreams can also give him hope in a world where darkness seems to fall quicker than is natural and the two of them embark on a dangerous, vicious mission to bring justice to those who deserve it. Before it’s too late...
