Could you maybe reblog this post if you think respecting trans peoples' names and identities is a basic right and not a political opinion?
No pressure. Just seeking some validation of my sentiment. Due to some. people
Yes. Respecting trans peoples’ name and identities is a basic right.
made this very true image
This is it

“If you promise to stay alive just a little bit longer I promise that we are going to make this world a place worth living in by any means necessary. I ain’t giving up. I swear.”
Spotted in Clackamas, Oregon
I can’t stop thinking about this message, so I spent a while trying to isolate just the writing and make it transparent. I might order a shirt with it
Whoever in Clackamas wrote this message on their bus stop, I love you

one of the pages for a class project- i asked a few people what they loved about being trans. this was my fav
“god made me transsexual the same reason he made wheat but not bread and fruit but not wine, so that humanity may delight in the act of creation”
ive been reading a book that basically explains how so-called “brain differences” between the genders is the result of gendered socialization and not the cause of it. i honestly expected the book to be very cis-centric but its actually the opposite, the author stresses that testimony from trans ppl is actually indispensable because we’ve, in a sense, “lived both experiences”
more cis feminists should have this mindset
one of the first examples that she uses to introduce her point about how perception by others can shape a person’s performance actually uses a trans woman. it explains that as a certain trans woman became to be seen as a woman more and more frequently, the ppl arond her eventually started viewing her as being ill equipped for tasks that they did not bother her about pre-transition. eventually she even found herself underperforming in these tasks herself.
whats the name of the book
Delusions of Gender by Cordelia Fine
Here’s a pdf, babes <3
I knew it was this book before I’d finished reading the first two lines. Honestly this book is indispensible if you want to debunk any gender determinism people claim is science. I can’t recommend it enough.
She’s written a new one! It won the Royal Society prize for science book of the year, and it’s called Testosterone Rex, and it is excellent.
(Bonus: it’s making old white men really really mad.)
(Bonus bonus: I am myself a neuroscientist, and the old white men mentioned above – who are not – could not have missed the point harder if they’d actively tried. Which. Maybe?)
Thanks to moon-boob for providing a PDF, but please, buy the book if you have the disposable income. SUPPORT THIS AUTHOR!!

The look on her face when she realizes
Here’s what they said if you didn’t understand-
Interviewer: What do you think about starting an initiative on campus here at UK, to be more inclusive to women who have penises? So we can put urinals in the womens restroom for them.
Student: Sounds fantastic.
Interviewer: Oh, does it?
Student: Yeah.
Interviewer: What about- Let’s take it one step closer, y'know more- for inclusivity here on campus, but free tampons and pads in the mens restroom for men who have periods?
Student: Sounds great.
Interviewer: Ok- You dont see anything wrong with those statements?
Student: No.
Interviewer: What men do you know with periods?
Student: I generally use- ones like in Willy T* have pads, I use them pretty often.
*(Willy T is the college nickname for their library I’ve heard.)
I attend this school and I can confirm 2 things. Yes, our big library is indeed called Willy T AND the day that this stank bitch came to campus everyone was losing their MINDS and kept walking by in hopes of getting chosen to call her out. Immaculate.
i. am on the floor. wheezing. the moment she realizes that not only is she talking to a trans man,, but that SHE COULDN’T CLOCK HIM,, this is high art and i want it written in Big Wedge sharpie on my wall
being gender nonconforming is great bc straight people think i'm edgy and intimidating but lgbt people see me and immediately think i'm friend shaped :)
New gender: comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable

Happy Valentine’s Day, lovers. Take care of each other and yourselves.
aesthetic attraction is wild bc it’s like “yes i’m asexual but i’m also very gay and women are extremely hot”
so basically to summarise
men kiss eachother
i saw it on google inages
I thought this was a command.
men! kiss each other.
I actually don’t hate being bi. I don’t wish I was gay or straight. I don’t hate my attraction to men (even the cishet ones). I won’t sympathize with vicious biphobes simply because a bi person hurt their feelings once. I don’t hate myself.
You shouldn’t either.

bless this specific person for showing me a thousand non-binary ways to style my mohawk
Every time a random tumblr user coins a new ultra specific gender or sexuality that "no one understands" or makes the community "too confusing" my devilish little smile widens. Being incomprehensible is good, actually. Identity labels shouldn’t exist to be digestible to cishet society.
Expanding on this:
Having 3-4 or more different mspec labels is cool and sexy, actually, and it doesn’t need to be 'fixed' by giving each one a rigid definition, or by saying two or more of them are actually the same and people should stop using one. It literally does not matter that the prefixes pan and omni mean the same thing. It doesn’t matter if a bi person's definition of bisexuality is identical to a pan person's definition of pansexuality, neither of them is 'wrong' and they aren’t somehow harming each other by not using the same word.
There is no such thing as a 'pointless' label, at least in the sense that people don’t identify as any label if they don’t think there’s a point to doing so. Stop acting like you know complete strangers better than they know themselves just because YOU don’t understand the point of a word. Also, nobody owes it to anyone else to use an identity that THEY think 'has a purpose'. Identity labels should not exist to have a use to people who don’t identify with them.
Whichever acespec or arospec identities you’re thinking you can exclude from this post right now, no you can’t. No, not even that one. I do not care if you think it’s 'impossible' or 'made up' or 'attention seeking' or 'makes no sense' or 'something everyone experiences' or 'a symptom of a mental illness'. I don’t even care if any of those things happen to be true. I do not care about whatever harm you’re imagining it’s doing to impressionable teenagers. Stop looking for proof that identities you think are weird don’t really exist.
More genders = good, I hope cis people get so confused they spontaneously combust.
Also, some people on here have mixed up using identity to find community with using identity to forcibly categorize people, and it shows
